  1. I am rooting for Aiken to have a good game tomorrow. Hope everything goes well. He is a hard worker and not afraid of mixing it up. As for the Secret Service shadowing gig, it reminds me of a co-worker I used to work with a long time ago. He wanted to be a Secret Service, one day he took off work a couple days to do some test, exams etc. While he was gone, we pitched in to buy matching cheap sunglasses and fake walkie talkies. When he came into work, we were all "protecting" him and looking around, saying the "Eagle is on the move" etc. We had fun ribbing him all day. We even continued the act while out for lunch at a deli. We surround him while he ordered his lunch, people looking at us like we were crazy. It was so funny, we had a ball all day, even the bosses joined in. lol

  2. Anybody here old enough to remember that "Coca-Cola" used to print the photos of the Baltimore Colts players on the bottle tops? I remember my cousin and I went to every business soda machine on our bikes with a magnet on a string to fish down the bottle opener slot and we pulled them up like mad. A kid's treasure. I still remember just about every player on the Colts roster and their jersey number to this day. Love the fact that some of our guys are coming back to BALTIMORE to get the HOF rings in the town in which they earned them.

What a great idea that was! lol I wished I had thought of that. That must have been a lot of fun. lol

  3. I know I'm gonna get what might be a record number of thumbs down but I don't consider the colts a part of the Ravens legacy. They moved to Indianapolis and the Ravens are an entirely different team. We were the Browns. NOW we are the Ravens. Ok guys...hit me with your best shot.

Maybe you're not old enough to understand, maybe you do not read the history of Baltimore football. Do you know former Colts players and fans are a major part of the reason we now have the Ravens? Many former Colts players refused to follow the Colts to Indianapolis, have you seen the Colts Ring of Honor in Indianapolis? Not one single former Colts football player from Baltimore is on that list because there are several Hall Of Famers from Baltimore who refused to take part in that. it is that type of loyalty for 13 years after the Colts left that helped us landed the Ravens. Baltimore trying to showcase the NFL for a team in 1992 sold out a pre-season game in a matter of hours which was pretty fast in 1992 as there were no high speed internet then, tickets mostly bought by former Colts fans in MD. halftime highlights? Around 70 former Baltimore Colts players showed up. The Ravens were never the Browns, that team name was left in Cleveland so there is no connection with Browns history. Want to know loyalty? Hall of Famers from Baltimore turning down money for appearances in Indianapolis, taking time to promote to bring football back in Baltimore. Hall of Famers from Baltimore gladly lend their time for the Ravens, something they would not do in Indianapolis, that speaks volumes. They are deserving to be included in the Ravens Ring of Honor, after all, they stuck with Baltimore all those years and we should be honored to pay them back by including them in our Ring Of Honor. The highest compliment we can honorably thank them for their services in Baltimore and for supporting the Ravens teams. Bisciotti, like me and countless Ravens fans, comes from the Colts days when we were younger, we never forgot nor should we ever forget. We should be grateful and honored for their loyalty to Baltimore.

  4. Am glad Monroe is back. Hurst gave it his best shot and we appreciate the efforts, especially against top tier rushers but Monroe will improve the blind side by a lot for Flacco so this is good news. Been missing Gilmore but Williams and Boyle have done a good job holding the fort till Gilmore is back. Hoping Canty will be healed soon by week 6. Hoping Givens does a good job as he seems happy to be here. Good thing we are playing at home this Sunday. Go Ravens!

  5. I "think" the point he was trying to make is, with all of their undrafted players, they're still very competitive.

I took it as a compliment for Seattle's; GM, scouts and coaches to find all these diamonds in the rough

and make them a competent and competitive football team.  Which makes you wonder if SEA can find

so many talented undrafted players, why can't we find a talented late round/undrafted WR??

I understand what his point was. Seattle has only 1 top 50 receiver in total yards by receivers, Jermaine Kearse at #36, he would drop out of top 50 if not for the 50 yd pass he caught last night. Seattle was lucky not to be 1 - 3 after last night's C.Johnson fumble and missed/ignored call of ball batted out of bounds. Stat wise, the Ravens are better so the compliment goes to Ozzie and Ravens scouts/coaches. Seattle had no choice but to get undrafted players because of cap limit. If Ozzie signed 13 players on 2/3rds of cap space, I am sure we would see a boatload of undrafted players. It was not finding diamonds in the rough but rather finding players who would play for less than $700,000 a year after paying big money to 13 players.

  6. Yanda is fun to watch, that man is a big time mauler. It did not look like SSS was speared much by Mitchell, I think Mitchell slamming him on his back started the damage more than hit from behind and the Timmon hit later in the game made it worse. There is no question that B.Wiliams is a major bulldozer in the trenches but that video looked like Steelers let him go by to block linebackers on a quick pass. Glad he was able to get a piece of Vick on that play. Good play by Waller, hope to see him get better and get more plays. Who knows, maybe Waller will do more damage. Gonna be fun seeing how Givens and the rest of receivers perform without SSS which I think they will do just fine.

  7. Amazing how the Seattle Seahawks have 24 Undrafted players on their 53 man roster and we can't find any WR's?

Want to know why the Seahawks has 24 Undrafted players? They have 8 players over $7 million on this year's cap hit, 13 players over $4 million cap hit (Ravens have 6 players over $4 million), Seahawks have around 2/3rds of their salary tied to top 13 players, leaving only 1/3rds salary cap to remaining 40 plus players. The Seahawks has least cap space in NFL at a little over $629,000. They need cheap undrafted players to fill out roster to stay below cap. They have 27 players below $700,000 out of desperation to fill out roster. Ravens offense passing is ranked 11, Seahawks 27. Ravens scores more than Seahawks 23.2 - 21.8. Ravens total offense is ranked 16, Seahawks 19. Ravens total defense is ranked 20 and Seahawks 31. We got hit with injuries at WR, if that happened to Seahawks, they would not be able to handle it as good as the Ravens. I think I will leave it to Ozzie.

  8. While Ozzie is busy scanning the market and NFL rosters for players, am pretty sure Ozzie's phone is burning up with calls from GMs looking to dump receivers for picks. In early stages like week 4, the asking price is higher because there is still a long season ahead so Ozzie has to wait it out till the right one comes along at the right price. GMs are testing Ozzie's desperation level which is wasted time cause Ozzie hardly ever makes trades that are against the long term interests of the Ravens. Teams are not gonna give the Ravens a top tier receiver for cheap so we have to be patient like Ozzie till the right deal comes along.

  9. I don't think that will ever happen again, but I could see the fsu kicker go as early as round 3

That would make teams nervous waiting that long. Kickers can last 10-15 years on one team, someone may move up and snatch the best one if they keep losing on field goals. I guess we'll wait and see how it shakes out next year.

  10. I agree with most fans here, the goal is still to win a division title which is not impossible at this point. I would wait till weeks 11, 12 and so on before worrying about teams outside our division if a division title is not realistic. Right now, any division rival who loses a game is a big plus for Ravens till things shake out more clearly late in the season. The year the Ravens won the Super Bowl, they lost 4 of last 5 games, if it can happen to the Super Bowl Ravens, it is possible to happen to the Bengals. Wait it out and see what happens. Hope the Bengals and Browns lose today.

  11. Agree SO much with you on both Camp and SSS. I spent 40 years working in the medical field both before and after the HIPPA laws. And they are for real. However, with the player's consent, teams, if they choose, Can make public any information about injuries that the player approves of. Nothing more, only what the player allows. Thus, the news about Perriman's scope procedure we received a couple of days, or so, ago. Perriman Must have given permission to the team to make that update public knowledge. Think about it. There are plenty of times that we receive information as to the extent of a player's injury. Countless examples. It's just that the HIPPA laws give Everyone the right to as much privacy as they wish to have.

Your comment makes perfect sense now that I fully understand the laws. I guess because we get "full reports" of injuries all the time that it is expected all the time, something we take for granted, never realizing the players have the same rights to the laws as average people despite being in the public eye. It never crossed my mind all those years that it is the players who controls what is reported rather than the team. I learned a lesson here, thanks for sharing info.
