  1. What a wonderful story, am so happy to see that Hill is maturing and turning into a better man on and off the field. I love stories where players who are so young are able to get a handle on life and its priorities sooner than later. I hope he stays with the Ravens for several years, well done young man.
  2. If Gilmore is 275, than he is the same height and weight as Gronk. 6' 6'' and 275 at tight end is monstrous, no one will be able to stop Gilmore. I can't wait to see Pitta or Williams line up opposite of Gilmore, what a sight it will be to see them breaking out of a huddle with Forsett, S.Smith and Perriman lined up around them.
  3. I like D Smith, am very appreciative of his role as a leader and playing at a high level. Am so glad he is on the Ravens. Hope he gets a ring this year, he deserves it.
  4. #1? By Peter King? Did someone break into his laptop and change rankings for laughs? I love being a blue collar underdog, been that way my whole life with all of MD and Baltimore sports teams. Makes me proud the Ravens got respect, before training camp, but still, can we go back to being blue collar underdogs? I like the way things were. lol
  5. Nothing wrong at all with the players having fun playing games, no need to explain, if people don't get it, well, that is their problem, players despite God given skills are human and like to have fun just like the rest of us. As far as tooting your own horn, be careful, someone will eventually come along and shut down that toot. lol
  6. The Ravens have so many good players to choose from several positions. "Having too many good players, even on depth charts is always a good thing". Meanwhile, only 150 Patriots fans showed up to support #12 at Gillette Stadium yesterday. Makes me wonder if that was actually a football rally or a bunch of people who have lost their darn minds. I am just happy we have so many WRs/TEs/RBs to choose from, so many targets. Good to be a Ravens fan. In remembrance to all who gave their lives fighting for freedom since the colonial days, God Bless and may they all be resting in peace.
  7. The Steelers at number one for uniforms based on throwback uniforms is like Phyllis Diller winning Miss America.
  8. I got a good feeling about the offense this year. It looks like Flacco and Trestman are meshing perfectly well together and that bodes well for learning curves and cuts down on added time to get prepared. With much talk about our rookies and new WRs, let's not forget that Forsett is also a receiving threat out of back field with experience. Joe will have so many above average targets this year, that's when Trestman steps in and helps Joe decide where to throw each play to cut down on indecisions which is common for QBs with so many good targets. I see lots of TDs.
  9. I search using Google search engine with search dates about 4 months starting from Super Bowl and could not find Billick on Letterman, let alone any TV shows, probably because Billick was dealing with the fallout of pushing Dilfer out the door after Ray Lewis won MVP and Dilfer going to Disney Land. I found it very interesting that was not the first time it happened. Jerry Rice was 1989 Super Bowl MVP and Montana went to Disney World. Terrell Davis was 1998 Super Bowl MVP and Elway went to Disney World so what happened then was not the first time. That likely was why Billick was not on any TV shows like Harbaugh because he had a lot on his plate and did not want the media meddling and asking him uncomfortable questions about Dilfer and the fallout of the Disney debacle.
  10. Here is the YouTube link of that commercial - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KSKkmypTZM
  11. Art was one of my favorite people to listen to. Never boring for sure. I will never forget when Art Donovan was talking about a college team (I think it was the Hurricanes arriving by plane to play a Bowl game) with all the players coming off the plane wearing army fatigues. Art blurted out "I bet every one of those guys would crap their pants if they hear a gunshot go off". I was laughing so hard that I could not go to sleep that night because I couldn't get it out of my mind. Every now and then I would just grin when I think about that interview. Pure blue collar. A good man.
  12. Saw the Letterman show last night, Bill Murray and Letterman together is funny. I remember seeing Harbaugh and Flacco on Letterman and shouting with no one around me "Hey!, I know those guys!" Good old days, eh? Letterman will be missed, maybe we will see the Ravens on the show with the replacement Steve Colbert next year, fingers crossed.
  13. Watching Pats fans fall apart as soon as Kraft threw in the towel is very enjoyable observation, not as nearly as enjoyable to a Ravens win over the Steelers but pretty close. I wished I was a fly on the wall watching Kraft's facial reactions as the owners talk about chain of command and having more control over footballs to ensure fair playing level. I wonder if he will chime in his opinions or just be quiet and go along without alienating the owners anymore than he already did. While the penalties are not harsh enough toward #12 as he likely have done it before in other home games, it will be somewhat satisfying if the penalties remain the same because the Pats and #12 image are tarnished forever if the penalties remain the same after #12's appeal is heard. We will patiently wait for more documentaries and books to come out later, tarnishing #12 and the Pats even further. Trust me, there are tons of investigations by reporters working hard toward a book or documentaries which will further damage #12 and the Pats long after #12 is retired. That will not stop till McNally or his associates caves in and spills the beans which I think will happen sooner or later. This is only the beginning, it will get worse once everything is found out and pieced together more coherently. You may try to run, hide and lie but the truth can easily keep up with you and eventually wear you down.
  14. Another long time tradition is being tore down for the sake of making it more entertaining, nothing more. This means the better kickers will be asking for more money than ever before and possibly dilute other positions. It will be interesting if teams will use an extra million or two or three to invest toward more two points specialists than toward above average kickers. I can understand tearing down traditions for safety reasons but for entertainment? I guess I am just an old man with ties to the good old days and have a little bit of a hard time accepting changes in the game of football. Who knows, maybe I will enjoy this rule change in time, will be interesting to see how teams response after touchdowns.
  15. What is with the lack of respect of veteran Ravens players in various rankings? Is there jealousy or spiteful feelings among voters playing a role into voting instead of accomplishments? Alex Smith ahead of Flacco? Are you kidding me? "Harrison feels the help the Chiefs have given Smith this offseason via the draft and free agency propels Smith ahead of Flacco" Really? Has Harrison forgotten who we drafted on offense? Has Harrison forgotten we have one of the best offensive linemen in the NFL? Has Harrison forgotten we drafted a number one ranked TE in the draft as well as the fastest WR with huge upsides. Let's not forget we also got Javorius Allen as RB in the draft, dude is shifty and fast and ranked higher than Perriman on rookie rankings. The Ravens have 3 players among the top 54 and the Chiefs have only one rookie offensive player in the top 100, WR Chris Conley at 63, that is it and that was what put Smith over Flacco according to Harrison? That is not logical, that is plain biased and cooking the rankings using personal feelings instead of stats, what a joke that Harrison ranked Smith ahead of Flacco.
  16. This offense could possibly be the best offense the Ravens ever had. I really do not see any major weaknesses on offense. So much potential and upside with players the Ravens have added on offense along with players we have from last year. Our shoulders/arms are gonna be sore this year throwing our hands up in the air/clapping/whooping many times after touchdowns. Looking forward to seeing how good this offense is. Should be a fun year. Go Ravens!
  17. This may be one of Ravens's top 3 back end defenses, maybe the best if everything goes according to plan and no one gets badly hurt. I do not see any major weaknesses on defense. Ozzie, coaches and personnel did a great job this off season. Am excited and looking forward to seeing how good this defense is going to be.
  18. Ray Lewis is 40? How time flies, seems like a short while ago of him making all those plays and winning two Super Bowls. Here is to wishing Ray a Happy 40th Birthday and may his wishes come true. God bless Ray Lewis.
  19. Bluto Blutarsky - "Seven years of college down the drain" #12 - "Fifteen years of NFL down the drain"
  20. I think it will be done one way or another before pre-season games. The NFL suspend #12 within a week after the Wells report was released (Would have been sooner if not for Mother's Day weekend) The appeal must be heard within 10 days of when the appeal was filed. Goodell will not let the media spectacle to last long after the appeal is heard. He wants this done and over with and move on. He is not going to let 70% of NFL fans who thinks #12 is guilty and let them hang by a thread any longer than necessary.
  21. I agree that Goodell does not want to see this reduced. He will put an end to it quickly before pre-season.
  22. The Wells rebuttal by the Patriots's highly paid lawyers is ludicrous, good for a few chuckles, my dog can lie better than that. Even Bluto Blutarsky would read the report and yell "FOOD FIGHT!!!" for insulting his intelligence.
  23. Wow, this is really good, I like the Arrington signing, the defense and offense have improved so much. The Ravens are turning me into a drooling fool with a giddy state of mind that we may have to have me committed if this team improves anymore than they already have in the next three months. Great job Ozzie.
  24. Wells and investigators said it does not matter which gauge was used as I am sure it is because any gauge the refs had were of professional grade rather than the Walmart variety.
  25. . My comment was a sarcastic and joking tone, not to be taken seriously.
