  1. Where did I say that Flacco and Boller were equal? Unless I typed those words, don't assume. I am well aware that Billick had QBs on tail end of their careers. Billick also had several years to find a QB who fits the Ravens mold but didn't. Billick had success with Vikings does not mean he can replicate it with Ravens. That proves my point that just because they were successful on one team does not mean guaranteed success on another team. I can give you a long list of former Ravens who were very successful playing with the Ravens but falters with another coach/team or did not have success with the Ravens and did better with another coach/team. There are so many variables on how success hinges on each QB. Yes, Flacco is better than Boller but that does not mean Flacco would have guaranteed success with Billick. Look at Colin Kaepernick, not one single losing season with Jim Harbaugh in 4 years, 3 straight years of Conference Championship games and now is 3-6 under a different coach. Kaepernick's passing percentages also dropped since changes. Kap was benched the last game. Success under one coach and falters with another. There are plenty of QBs that had similar results or vice versa when changes are made. It is possible the Ravens could do better with Billick/Flacco? Yes. It is also possible that Flacco could do worse under Billick because coaching styles and playing styles between Harbaugh/Billick are day and night. You cannot take a present and drag it back to the past because rules and coaching styles are different then and now.
  2. There goes Dean Pees again, shifting blame elsewhere with "defense would rank No. 7 in NFL if you take away six big plays. It's not rocket science." If every team takes away 6 big plays, the rankings would still be the same. This coming from a professional DC in the NFL? Seriously? What kind of statement is that? Every defense gives up at least 6 big plays by 8th week. How about if Pees did his job better so players can play to their strengths better and we would be ranked 7th? I am willing to bet Pees made more strategic mistakes than 6 big plays given up by defense. Focus on your job instead of trying to make the world think you're blameless. Pees never owning up to his responsibilities and shifting problems elsewhere publicly is a turn off.
  3. I don't think any Ravens QB was successful under Billick other than Dilfer for one year and that was because the Ravens had one of best defense in NFL history that year. Ravens offense never ranked any higher than 17 and was as low as 31 during Billick years. Boller was still on Ravens team when Flacco was drafted. In fact, Boller was named the starter under Harbaugh in 2008 pre-season over Troy Smith, Flacco was 3rd string at the time. Boller was injured during pre-season and was placed on injured reserved just before start of season. Troy Smith then was starter over Flacco in pre-season but became ill with a rare disease called Lemierre's syndrome. Flacco became the starter by default because of injury to Boller and illness to T.Smith and we have not looked back since. I am not going to get into a debate on whether Flacco would have succeeded under Billick because Billick never had success with QBs. Besides, Billick and Harbaugh had different OCs and coaching styles. You can't take a Harbaugh coached Flacco and say Flacco would succeeded under different coaching philosophy of Billick. Billick had 13 different QBs over the years with the Ravens, some were very good QBs. None were ranked higher than 17th offense over Billick years. Flacco being successful under Harbaugh means he flourishes under Harbaugh's style of coaching but may not succeed under Billick's style of coaching.
  4. Because there is nothing to add, the media knows he is injured, what more can Perriman add at a press conference? Maybe what he had for breakfast? The media will needle it to death needlessly, leave the man alone till he is ready. Injured players holding off press conferences with the media till they are healed is nothing new.
  5. 5 times the Ravens did not make the playoffs under Billick. Under Harbaugh, barely missed one playoff and possibly a 2nd time this year. Both won one Super Bowl but Harbaugh has gone much further than Billick playoffs wise. Why didn't the Ravens do much better under Billick with higher percentages of draft picks than Harbaugh. You pointed out one bad year instead of looking at all the years of success under Harbaugh. Am amaze at how people forget the years the Ravens were one of most feared teams under Harbaugh and despite a bad record, teams still fear the Ravens because they know we will take it to them down the wire nearly every game. Can you say the same about Billick? Billick had 3 seasons where Ravens finished well below .500, so far Harbaugh has none. I will take Harbaugh to guide the Ravens over Billick any day, regardless of percentage of draft picks.I look at the overall picture, am not going to forget the past and throw my favorite head coach under the bus because of one bad year.
  6. Pees trying to insinuate and pass the blame onto J.Smith instead of protecting his players during public interview will not go well with defensive players. I don't think I ever read that Pees said he has to do a better job of coaching. Even Harbaugh admitted that he himself has to do a better job at times. Not a cool thing to do on coaches belittling/talking down the players to the media. Kudos to J.Smith on taking the high road and not taking the bait from the media, something Pees should learn to do. Tell the players in private/practices and away from the media on issues that players need to get better at. Leave it to the players to criticize themselves in public, not the coaches.
  7. What a great guy B.Williams is. Also thanks to Ravens organization, players and everyone out there helping less fortunate people in need. I am disappointed there is so few comments about this terrible hardship some people goes through in life. Like B.Williams says, reach in your heart to help others in need. Baltimore City is one of the hardest hit cities on manufacturing jobs lost. Only 4 states are worse in manufacturing job losses. Deindustrialization hit the entire Mid-Atlantic region harder than much of the country. A few cans added up goes a long way. Help poor children eat better so they can do better in school. God bless those who reached out and help.
  8. I disagree. First off, J.Ross gained 8 yards, not 2. The first two miss tackles were nothing but flailing arms barely touching him. (He did not fumble the ball to the ground, the ball was taken because #28 strong armed the ball away from him) He made the correct decision that he could fake out the first two tacklers which he did with ease, it was not till he was starting to reach the 2nd level that the ball was snatched from him. That type of play can happen anywhere, even to wide receivers after catching a 30 yd pass. If anyone is to be partially blamed, it is Anthony Levine, twice, Levine did not hold off the runner #28 toward J.Ross as well as not doing his job to prevent #28 from getting back up and sneaking up on J.Ross from behind. Had Levine impeded the tackler from reaching J.Ross from behind (J.Ross's blind spot for which Levine is responsible for), this would have never happened. That is why Harbaugh gave J.Ross another chance. He also returned a kickoff 28 yards. J.Ross is shifty and very fast, to not use a little aggressiveness on J.Ross's ability to make shifty moves and explode would be taking away chances for long gains. If Levine impeded #28 even milliseconds by simply shoving him on shoulder would have possibly prevented the take away.
  9. That is why I hope for a #1 pick, hopefully a top 3-5, which we all know Ozzie will trade to get a later first round pick plus extra picks unless there is someone he does not want taken by another team.
  10. Yes, some calls hurt us, so did a fumble, dropped passes, missed tackles, a messed up shifting by either SSS or Boyle that took off 10 seconds and added 5 yards which contributed to a desperate last pass instead of two or three more plays. Can't blame the Urschel call that the refs botched as that would only add 4 more points onto Tucker field goal, we still would have needed a TD. Thing is, the Ravens played hard and we came up short, there is no one play or even two or three plays, offense had chances and there were 3 and outs, defense had chances and got beat at times but both sides also did well at times. It is 60 minutes of football, not a few bad calls.
  11. Of course SSS wants to stay with the Ravens, the Ravens are his best chance to break into top #8, #9 or #10 WR career yardages, possibly even a top 7 if he is red hot rest of year. He is #1 WR for Ravens, if traded to a contender, he might not be a #1 WR, getting less yards. Over 10,000 yards is a great way to get into the Hall of Fame, he is not concern about going to a contender and possibly win a SB, he wants that 10,000 plus yards and will do his darnest to get there.
  12. I love it when Ravens are good but with the way things are going, am rooting for #1 pick next year.
  13. Looking forward to Ravens/Steelers game Dec 27th, has potential to be a serious battle for top 5 pick in 2016, whooo hooo.
  14. Not Joe's fault, there was a mistake by SSS or someone on shift moves plus no one touch 44 barreling for Joe on final play.
  15. There goes our streak, we lost by more than 6, oh well.
  16. I bet Boomer and Ray Lewis were screaming " Get off the field!" lol
  17. Looks like 3 - Nov 30th against Browns (Yes, a Monday night football of Ravens vs Browns). Dec 13 (Sunday night Seahawks) Dec 27 (Sunday night Steelers) Only Browns game is away.
  18. Looks like another Ravens game will be wiped from my DVR to make room for more movies.
  19. Either Arizona are drawing up much better offensive plays or are simply executing better. Am embarrassed that we cannot draw up passing plays to maximize our strengths more often.
  20. Pees all comfy, as soon as he sees himself on TV, he gets animated to make it look like he is working. lol
  21. Ahem, where's Waller, I want to see him in game more often.
  22. Ref shouted to Carson "You get out of my face right now! .... NO!" lol
  23. Where's the flag against Carson?
  24. Is Trestman watching the game while Flacco is going over plays on tablet? Did I see that right?
  25. I hate to put down Ravens players. I know how tough the NFL is but M.Brown has got to go. A professional should easily catch that ball. We can't have easy drops, it kills drives.
