Damn, I hope not. I just want to compete! ![]()

Really? Just got here, didn't see that.

So when/where does that contest commence? ![]()
1 minute ago, Jonah DeVito said:His board looks a hell of a lot better than Bolds.
True, and I'm sure they will start selling ads if it takes off. Not saying that's wrong, but that is clearly not Bold's motive. And I think if you go back and read his posts the Boardhost site is intended to be temporary until he has the time to put something more "polished" together.

In the seasons we were going to the playoffs every year and won a Super Bowl there was a lot more activity. Things to get excited about and generate interest. New fans were coming out of the woodwork.
Took the words right out of my mouth.
When it's cold out and they don't sell as much beer at a game, do they stop selling it in December? Maybe not a good analogy as far as resources expended, but you get my drift.

Yeah when Serie A, Bundesliga, La Liga, and Premier League games are played in Baltimore than I would be fine with NFL games in Europe. What are the odds of Real Madrid playing Barcelona in Baltimore?
If you are that interested go see Barca play United in DC in July. Or you could go to Miami the following week to see Madrid and Barca.

I thought it was what everyone else was using so they did too.

Came in handy on more than a few occasions.
I don't remember what that trick was called but basically ( as is the case with every trick back then ) I start from a riding position, lock the rear brake, and kinda hop and spin all at the same time landing on the back pegs facing backwards. At which point I can hop around a bit or kick the tire and kinda scoot around like that.
After all that just jump and spin again and return to the riding position and ride away never letting my feet touch the ground.
Never mind....I went back and looked at it more closely. It's your left arm.

Did we not get along? Didn't know, thanks for letting me know. lol
Just now, Tiznut said:Lol. It's short sighted because you disagree with it. Your opinion is short sighted because it lacks any depth of the discussion they had when deciding to go away from the mb.
Nice! Thanks for proving my point. ![]()
27 minutes ago, The Mom Gene said:I'm not sure it was short-sighted. I truly believe there was a lot of discussion and a lot of thought put into it. And as was stated, most other teams have done, or are doing the same. Change is always a difficult measure for most folks.
Regardless of how much discussion or thought was put into it, it is extremely short sighted. It's a sad day when any group buys into a notion or idea that endorses off the cuff, often mindless sentences rather than promoting thoughtful exchanges of opinion. Kind of a statement on why the basic art of intelligent communication is quickly dying.
It's not about the difficulty of change, there will be new venues to continue on. It's about the lack of insight from what was a well respected organization. I think the hope was that this organization was different and more responsible than "most other teams". That disappointingly appears to not be the case.
1 hour ago, The Mom Gene said:too long for the average member to want to read. That said. If you're not sure of the reasoning or believe what the have said is the reasoning, as it doesn't fit your ideas, then you really cannot discount their reasoning.
Regardless of the reasons for closing, suggesting the idea that boards like this can be replaced by Facebook, Twitter, etc. is ridiculous and demeaning to those that have shared knowledge and opinions here for the past 10 years. And while most don't post two or more lengthy paragraphs, I would venture a guess that most "average" members do read them when they are worth reading. That type of info exchange ain't happening on the popular social media outlets.
I am and always will be a die hard fan of the Ravens football team, but I have to say I've lost a lot of respect for this organization to make such a short sighted decision in shutting down the BR.com message boards.

9 hours ago, cobrajet said:Agreed, they are seriously crying like it was Dale Hunter's cheap shot on Pierre Turgeon. I also agree that Ovie's hit on Crosby's neck was more erregious.
Pens fans can be bad, but they aren't in the same league as the crying bawston crowd. Those folks are without doubt the worst regardless of the sport.
I have to say that it if it was Backstrom or another player that ended up like Crybaby many a Caps fan would be pissed too even though it was just an unfortunate accident. Just the nature of a fanatic.
Ovie's slash to the shoulder was intentional and a penalty but the glancing strike to the back of his helmet was not. Should have been a minor but those are missed all the time(see previous two matches in Washington).

I wish they would do the Navy Stadium practices again. Those were a blast and easy to attend.
48 minutes ago, cobrajet said:The hit on Crosby seemed a little dirty to me. I want the Caps to win, but not that way.
Eh....normally I would feel bad about any player going down but he flys around all the time out of control, bound to happen. And I don't think Niskanen aimed to hit him in the head. Crosby was just falling down and it ended up in an unfortunate way.

Wrong contest, lol, read back through the last few posts.
Seriously though, I hope they get together. Bold's the one that took the initiative to keep things together.
