  1. I think overall the D was much better this year. But last year's D seemed to get the stops when they were needed most, this year????. No.
  2. With a capable O line, I agree.
  3. Matt Forte?
  4. lol! The bears are going to play golf just like the Ravens. And who on the Ravens would you equate to Alshon? We need an O line and better route running along with a healthy TE, not a QB.
  5. I'm not sold on the idea that bringing in a new OC is the answer. Yes, the play calling was vanilla and often predictable, but that may have been due to the inexperience and lack of talent at key offensive positions. If we do can Caldwell I think the likely candidates are Jackson and Kubiak.
  6. Haloti has been an absolute beast the past two games. It seems the platooning is helping to keep him healthy and I hope he can continue his outstanding play. We need him. I've been talking up Dragonfly since pre season when you could see that he was working hard to improve his skills. Unlike some duds we've tried at WR, Jacoby embraced the opportunity. I think we'll be able to work something out and he'll be here for at least another couple of years.
  7. Yeah, it did seem odd. But I thought their whole D played pretty well despite the injuries. Torrey kinda stunk it up at times. Jones' 6 catches for 80 wasn't too shabby. It seemed like Pitta was out for quite a while, right? I think he only caught 1 or two and was off the field for a few possessions. Hope he's OK.
  8. I don't know, he's looked pretty sharp lately. Actually he's been playing much better than Torrey IMO. The WR position is not the source of the Ravens' offensive woes. It has been the lack of a dependable TE(great to have Pitta back), having the worst running game in the history of the NFL and fielding a sieve of an O line. Considering these factors, it's actually pretty amazing that the passing game has been as good as it has been and along with some decent defensive play, it's the reason we have been able to rescue the season. I get the whole money thing, to a point. Should he be paid as a premier receiver? NO. Should he be paid as an exclusive ST player, definitely not. Jacoby made clutch catches last year that allowed us to move through the [profanity deleted] and win the SB. He has improved as a WR this year and has made key catches in many wins this year. Obviously he should be paid somewhere in between the two for a 2 or 3 year deal. He's a viable, and more importantly, familiar option for Joe that can bridge the time while we develop the young guys we have or the guy we draft next year.
  9. That was kinda funny. Maybe it was the best part for you, but for Joe, the Team and fans, the best part was that it was another sign that he was continuing to improve as a receiver.
  10. Save this pic somewhere. You'll be seeing a lot more that are similar.
  11. Nice try, but he doesn't get it. Go
  12. You confuse stats with facts. Stats are a factual measure of a players worth in fantasy football. It's silly to think they alone measure a player's talents or their importance to an NFL Team.
  13. This is a strong possibility, especially if Jones continues his upswing.
  14. .........and apparently the opinion of the folks that cut D. Reed and that will soon cut Doss, again. That would lead me to believe that it may be factual.
  15. And anyone and everyone either cringed or turned their back every time either one of them was moving under the ball. They are "C" football players at best no matter what their #s look like. That's fact.
  16. So why isn't David Reed still on the Team? For the same reason Doss will be gone after the season. They both are unreliable as a KR or WR and they have low football IQs. They both failed miserably at key points in games, so their other "good" plays are really irrelevant. Think what you want, but Jones is a prime example of a "dog learning new tricks" and he will continue to improve as WR. It would seem that's apparent to everyone but you.
  17. We've had this debate before when you said Doss was just as capable as Jones and I have no desire to rehash that nonsense.(David Reed? really?) And saying that a "draft pick" could just step in and do the same is speculative at best, and to be frank, just silly. Jones is improving as a WR each week and has become a reliable, consistent threat on offense while developing a chemistry with Joe(did you watch the lions game?). We should do what we can to keep him. I'm not saying we break the bank, but there's a lot to be said for consistency and not just feeding new receivers into the mix year after year. For some reason you just don't like the guy and that's fine. But don't try to discount what he has accomplished in his short time with this Team.
  18. Add in the SB and you have production that would be very hard to replace. I just don't get how some think JJs are a dime a dozen. I'm sure the FO is "tuned in", but they have the difficult job of getting the best value out of the allotted cap dollars.
  19. "....it was coming with extreme velocity". Luv it!
  20. Checking in on this and I see opinion is swaying. I think JJ will continue on his upswing as a WR, but with that may come interest from others. I just continue to hope we can get him back at a reasonable price.
  21. I don't think anyone thought differently. The question in training camp was would he would ever play football again. Edit; Well I see there was one person who may have thought differently.
  22. We need them both to stay. Dragonfly(aka TDWTH) Is our X factor and has been improving as a WR. But given a choice between the two, I'd have to say Pitta is more important to the passing game, hands down.
  23. I think you're right. At 30, he probably has a good 3 or 4 years left in the tank. He fits well with the Team and shouldn't be overly expensive.
  24. Well, if he continues to improve and contribute his market price will rise, no doubt. double edged sword. I'm not saying it will happen, but it would seem if anyone would settle for less to stay for a while it would be a guy like Jacoby.
