  1. Given the events of the past 8 years for both teams it's safe to say the Ravens ended up with the right guy.
  2. Only for emergency usage if there's no other egress other than the small elevators. If the station has stairs between the escalators they barricade the stopped escalator. Reason is the rise of the treads is greater than allowed by code. Also when stopped all are not equal.
  3. Not an idea, it's fact. They ran only 13 plays in 3 possessions in the 4th quarter producing 1 fumble and 2 punts. 4:30 ToP. That was after having the ball for a 3 play drive(punt) at the end of the third quarter producing -15 yards. After their 3rd quarter TD the Falcons offense collapsed.
  4. Could have, don't know. But after the quick three and out to start the half they came right back with an 85 yard, 8 play TD drive and it looked like they picked up right where they left off in the first half. Wasn't until well after the long break, almost the end of the 3rd quarter, that they looked anemic and were unable to get a first down much less sustain any sort of drive. Given that timeline I would have to say the extended time off the field had little or nothing to do with their collapse.
  5. OK, to state the obvious there were completely different circumstances. One was lengthened by the normal run of play that could happen in any game, not unusual. The other was lengthened by a freakish power outage while the game was being played that robbed momentum, an unprecedented event that will most likely never happen again.
  6. And Joe and the offense were on the field for three times as many plays as Matt and the the Falcons in the second half of that game. As was mentioned when you first brought up the analogy, they were completely different situations and in no way comparable.
  7. Gotcha. Just the engineer coming out of me. haha
  8. Yeah, while amusing this is completely false. It is against Life/Safety codes to use a secured escalator as a staircase. If they break down they have to be barricaded until repaired. Escalators are an inherintly dangerous piece of equipment and a maintenance nightmare. They are also energy hogs. I can see why they have resisted their installation. I would guess installing them will raise liability insurance exponentially and also add a huge chunk of change to the operating budget.
  9. My bad, corrected.
  10. Well, the major difference would be that the Ravens offense actually managed to get some first downs in the second half while running three times as many plays as the Falcons did against NE. They didn't score a bunch of points but it was enough and they at least gave the D some time off the field in the 4th quarter when it mattered most. What seemed to hurt the Ravens the most In the second half(besides the momentum robbing outage)was Ngata going down. It was like throwing a switch(whoops!) opening up the D.
  11. In reality the down should have been replayed as the off setting blatant face mask on the tackle went uncallled.
  12. I think they have a Haitian voodoo princess on the payroll.
  13. Leveon Bell going down early, tuck rule, etc, etc.......And the mother of them all, 2011 AFCG. They seem awfully fortunate in the post season.
  14. Wait......who even brought up the Ravens/Niners SB. Wasn't that you?
  15. Whaaaat! LMAO!
  16. LMAO! Since you are asking there's really no reason to point out the obvious. But here's a fun fact in case you forgot......One of the reasons they were out so long was because their D got a pick six and extended the lead. Did that hurt them as well? There were no mysterious outside forces or shenanigans at work here. I have my own ideas as to why, but suffice it to say the Falcons choked, plain and simple.
  17. This in no way was like the power outage, but I was thinking going into the half that they had not been on the field for a long time and wondered how it would affect them coming out in the second half. It took them a while to get going at the start of the game and now they had to start all over again. With the quick three and out it looked like the lay off might have hurt the Falcons offense, but after their D forced a quick three and out they had a great scoring drive out picking up right where they left off in the first half. At that point they still had the momentum on their side and we're looking like winners. So it seems obvious that the extended time off the field isn't what caused the collapse.
  18. I thought they ran it 5 times after scoring their last TD? No matter. I'm not disagreeing at all that they should have gone run in a couple of instances, but overall the ratio wasn't bad. In the end poor execution for pretty much all of the second half is what got them. The missed face mask that would have off set the holding call that took them out of FG range didn't help either. But after the TD it was just just a total collapse on both offense and defense.
  19. You mean the amount of success they had running in the first half, not all game. Right?
  20. Save the useless minute at the end of regulation they only ran 12 plays total after scoring the second half TD, so it's really not that wild.
  21. While the Falcons defensive collapse is hard to fathom, their offense really did nothing in the second half to help them. Other than the one TD drive Ryan and Co. stunk it up bad and gave their D no rest time whatsoever. While circumstances may not have been perfect, I would have expected much more from the guy selected as the league's MVP and that stable of weapons. Even just a little bit of production in the 4th quarter could have put the game out of reach and saved the day for them.
  22. I think you are in shock or something. lol. At that juncture you need to avoid the sack and score at least a FG and ice the game. You know that.
  23. I wish we had a Julio for 4 or 5 years, such a great talent. Yeah, there was definitely more pressure in the second half, but hey, it was the SB. Couldn't expect NE to just lay down. Players gotta make plays when the chips are on the line and Ryan just didn't do it.
  24. No way you could put the blame solely on him, but a little bit of clutch play from Ryan late in the 4th pretty much puts the game out of reach.
  25. He is part of the team. Right?
