Harris from what i know, but im no scout and not into watching film like some on here.  Just go off what i read and see from some youtube videos

Can someone explain to me why when Michael Sam came out (in the draft) he was taken so late and had some defensive award for the SEC or something but yet Harris is comin out of the same scheme and a top 20 prospect.  Obviously Harris is better, i guess im just wondering about is it the scheme that Sam looked so good in?

from what i remember he had a bad combine and considered too small to play end and too slow to play outside

With Thomas you would need a spectacular athlete and freakish strength kinda guy to warrant such a high pick. He is a 3tech through and through imo, I don't see an OLB or a 5T at all with him. If he's not looking like Aaron Donald on film I don't want him.  I just don't think we can take a tweener on the DL in the first.

Unless you're a pure 43 team you shouldn't have a top 16 grade on him imo

bringing up the same point, but while i do see the flashes of donald, i just dont think he can put on the appropriate weight to have the same effect at the next level inside

I've been noticing solomon Thomas is more consistently being regarded as a top 15 draft pick. I honestly can't think of a much better prospect we could get than him. Unless a miracle happens and we land hooker or Adams

i dont know how well he will translate to being on the outside full time though in terms of pass rush production. when stanford did put him out on the edge he wasnt nearly productive as he was at end, his primary spot

  4. i had him late first a couple weeks ago in my head but ive actually moved him up to mid 1st. i just think he'll be too effective as a rusher to ignore and has the skills to perform against the run once suggs starts gettin on him haha

as for williams i still have him higher than harris currently, but i havent gone back for a closer look in a few weeks...why do you see him slipping to the second?

  5. corey davis is skipping it too

im trying to think in the last couple years, what potential 1st-2nd rounder (projected prior to the game at least) really benefited from playing that game. they're better off to focus on the combine and character interviews at this point

if youre a senior going into the draft these days chances are youre either a strong consideration for the 1st-2nd round or trying to claw your way up as a potential mid round pick

To add to this, Charlton played in the 3-4 a bit in Michigan, and struggled. A new DC came in, they went back to 4-3 and he did well again. I don't think he's suited to be a 3-4 edge guy. He's best as a 4-3 DE.

yeah definitely not an edge guy from what ive been seeing

Even Thomas who can still excel on the edge at the next level, some of his best production came when he was putting pressure on the interior

I'm starting to really like tj watt, so much so that I'd take him at 16, not my first option but I actually might have a hard time taking Charles Harris or possibly even Barnett over him. The more I watch the more I like. It could possibly be his seriously intense energy that's making me see him differently. That's a guy who gets the team rallied and fired up just by playing with intensity.

He looks the part of a playmaker, complete player, and an unquestioned emotional leader. Something none of the other edge rushers have as a total package

the more i watch the more i agree...or maybe im just not as high on harris anymore. watt is the all around better player for sure, but if ozzie really wants the go-to rusher, id take harris. the one glaring flaw of harris that i see right now... is that when the run comes straight at him and he's not diving into the backfield he cant hold his gap. with his frame im sure he can continue to add the strength to hand in there but it hurts to watch such an intense player just get driven back like that

  8. im all for secondary in the first round, but with how old our pass rush is outside of judon and smith who still have a lot to prove...no way we go cb first and second round. I definitely think itll be an edge player in the second. with that said i do really like watt for what he did this year and the bloodlines of course. I also think its very likely anderson falls into the mid 2nd

  9. If barnett or jamal adams somehow fell to us that would open up so many better scenarios for our 2nd and 2-3rds

its so hard to know first rd at this point, i spend more time looking for mid round guys (where ravens draft really well anyways)

awuzie, sutton, moton, godwin, etta tawo, willis, johnson, basham...and so on

1 - Jamal Adams (not likely based on current projections, but i do think very possible come draft day)

    2 - Ryan Anderson

    3 - Chidobe Azuwie

    3 - Taylor Moton

    4 - Chris Godwin

    5 - Dorian Johnson

Would like both of the early 4th rounders actually be used.

wouldn't mind trading the late 4th from Denver for next year.

Bundle the 5th and 6th to move up or for next year. I really don't see who would be available then worth drafting.

That all said I like the following payers:

    Eric Murray CB

    Rashard Robinson CB

    Tavon Young CB

    Jalen Mills S

    Zach Sanchez CB

    Pharoah Cooper WR

    Kenny Lawler WR

    Michael Thomas WR

    Rashard Higgins WR

    Devontae Booker RB

    Keith Marshall RB

    Alex Collins RB

    Andrew Billings DT

    Hassan Ridgeway DT

    Charles Tapper DE

    Victor Ochi DE

    Sebastian Tretola G

    Joe Dahl G/OT

    Joe Haeg G

    Willie Beavers OT

    Nick Kwiatkoski ILB

    Scoobie Wright ILB

    Tyler Matakevich ILB

    Lets go get 'em

i agree with you on using a couple of the picks we have left and bundling the rest for next year. if we drafted all the remaining picks we had left it'd be useless maybe 3 would even have a chance to make the final roster, just not a ton of spots left.

i like kalan reed - cb though and mike thomas - wr in the 4th tho. if we save a 5th rounder and kwiatkoski/schobert are there id really like them too. they both have experience playing all the lb spots and while not flashy are the high motor/high character players we've been drafting. ive loved kwiatkoski from the beginning

  11. the way this draft is going the 4th round is gonna be just as much a guess as the 7th round usually is

with that said we usually draft pretty well in the 4th round (though i wish we would draft well 1-3 instead....)

players i still like for the remaining rounds:

Christian Westerman, Joe Schobert, Nick Kwiatkowski, Kalan Reed, Michael Thomas, Nich VanHoose, Joe Haeg, and Matt Judon

All hard working/high motor "safe guys"....which seems to be the way our draft is going

  12. i never post in these boards just read them a bunch, but i really like this mock.

Im not a fan of Hargreaves but i can see why many project him to be a top half of the first round. If we traded down to the 20th or so and he is there (likely not a chance) i would say he holds far more value there. I project an offensive tackle like Stanley to be a great value/need pick in that 8-15 range. ravens are a team that win in the trenches and the  o line is often forgotten about. if our offense is going to grow at all we need to be able to give these skill players a chance to even get the ball. No idea how the line will work out due to salary cap, but if you could plug in Stanley at LT (moving Monroe for cap) you have a chance to sign Osemele back at LG, whoever comes out on top next spring at Center between zuttah, jensen and urschel, yanda at RG and Wagner at tackle.

Now to the parts of this draft i really like....yannick in the 2nd! love this guy and high motor, smart player and for someone with such a quick first step.....he doesnt make stupid mistakes! or getting caught offside and still racks up the stats.

Definitely think 3rd is a good spot for a WR this year, though i think we will just miss out on Shepherd given draft boards right now. Travin Dural would be a good alternate in this spot (who doesnt like an LSU receiver right now?) Not nearly as high on Sharpe and Boyd but will likely be around at this pick also.

4th round.....just like i noticed in my own mocks and this one for sure we have a chance to make a killing here. a lot of people may want to trade up now that we can do so with these comps but ravens have consistently found great players in the 4th and 5th rounds the last 4-5 years (Buck, Taliaferro, Juice, ZaDarius, Boyle, Urschel, Wagner, McPhee, Pitta, Art Jones) so lets put our great scouts to work and bring in a stock pile of what we obviously need....DEPTH! they wont be starters but good depth players with good IQ's and work ethic

With that said i love Kwiatkoski, and Byard also

Also like the looks of Cameron Sutton (stock has fallen a bit as of late but i think adding a smooth turning press corner would be great to let Jimmy grow even more, he wants to make more plays so let him ball hawk a little)

Brandon Kaufusi and Justin Simmons are other guys i really like here. they dont get the attention they deserve because of their conference play.
