If it was my thing, I'd take the SRT Grand Cherokee over all them. Fast and looks killer!
They are pretty damn sweet looking. I love the Center Exit Exhaust. I almost bought a TBSS which is another sweet ride that does a whole lot and is VERY versatile and pretty darn fast!
If I was going to spend 60,000 on a muscle truck like that I don't think I would be worrying about the fuel economy and how much the thing is going to tow, that's not the reason you buy those trucks. Give me the SRT-10 and I'll be having some major fun.
Me either but the Dodeg was the ONLY one close to that price point. Besides, I used my SSS to tow my race car...
Reskinned Camaro, but its still BAD freaking butt!
Oh, this is wonderful it reminds me of the 06 GTO...
It's built on the same chassis, has the same driveline but has 2 more doors....
Look for a Kenne Bell Blowzilla on anything and you'll change your mind!
I think it's the same, they both use the Zeta chassis.
I'd go with the Kenne-Bell. That pic you posted looks like the TVS1900, the little brother to the 2300.
This is what I would go with:
This fall after my Maggi install my numbers should be up there too.
What Maggie? The TVS or old school?
Got a good vehicle for you then; I used to own a Audi 1.8T Quattro.
In stock form, it was pedestrian, but it gets serious fast with minimal bolt ons (a chip, downpipe, exhaust, clutch and a set of Nitto 555-R were all I put on that car, and I could hang with Z28s and Mustang GTs).
Audi's with the Quattro AWD are monsters in the snow (no surprise considering Audi's heritage), and have one of my favorite interiors of any car on the road.
I just wish I had the money for an RS4!! Jack up the boost, then rape some Vipers while toting the family. <3
1.8t is a healthy motor for sure. The Quatro adds a **** ton of weight though.
I always wanted a boosted R32 Golf. AWD + Light chassis FTMFW!
Sure, but did you ever see how much whp you can pick up with those cars?
Can muffler, stickers, F1 spoiler, cut the springs and you have one serious machine!
but the WTQ is still a joke and so is the TQ steer... Not to mention blowing CV axels like a Baltimore street....Nevermind... lol
But it's still a S-Box civic....
I think this quote from Edmunds says it pretty well:
...so we limited our test to the 2004 Dodge Ram SRT-10 and the 2004 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning. The Silverado SS was excluded because it's just too much like a regular Silverado. If Chevy decides to drop the new 'Vette engine under the hood of a Silverado 1500 standard cab and add the appropriate wheels, tires, brakes and suspension, then we'll talk about a three-truck comparison test. Until then, Ford and Dodge have the baddest muscle trucks around.
Don't get me wrong...when it comes down to it, all three are good in their own aspects.
MOD NOTE: Please include a link to this article. Ty.
What does this prove? NOTHING.
The lightning had a blower and ford largest Triton V8, the SRT-10 had a V10 from the Viper with a 6speed manual
GM didn't build the truck to be the fastest, but it surely was the most versatile. Are we also forgetting that ALL of the lightnings were regular cab... Not to mention the SRT10
Was about 55K. Truth be told, mod for mod the SSS was faster then ANY of the other 3. Not to mention, the drivetrain was more dependable.
1. The Viper Trucks blew out t-56 Like a MFR
2. The Lightning ate trannies for breakfast lunch and dinner
The Chevy, though more subdued had better fuel economy more payload capacity and you could actually tow something with it... All this while seating 4-5 comfortably.
Ummm.... They didnt come with a Vortech...( the engine is called a Vortec V8). You dont know crap about them. No GM came from the factory with a Vortech super charger. The only blower GM offers from the factory is a MAgnaCharger but that was the smaller 112 Eaton Style blower not a Vortech Centrifugal blower.
Mine was a nice truck. Maggie 122, Gt3 cam, AFR heads... 11.60 @ 121
Stock with removal of TQ management and some other tuning stuff with HPTuners She went 14.2 at 100 MPH.
The SS was a real truck though, could tow 5000lbs and you could actually use it as a truck, the other 2....well you just couldn't.
So, not every SSS you see is slow.
I had an SSS, nice truck.
FerrariFan is just anti-GM, he's knows pretty much squat about them. Mechanics agree, Chevy's are easier/cheaper to work on. Not to mention, FORD will never match the SBC. It's pretty much the standard for v8 power. The Turbo 350-400 and 4L80 are far more reliable and the GM 12bolt or 8.5 ten bolt is pretty close to the strength of the 9"
^ LOL. i know what you mean. Back in the old days they ( GMC) used to be more of the commercial grade and often had more availble options. Now a days GMC is more of a luxury brand to fill the gap between Chevy and Cadi.
The Denali is a sweet ride though!
The beauty of the 3.8SFI was the that, like most turbo cars it responded like crazy to mods.
The GNX is soo sought after because of the rarity ( 547 units sold), the benis. were larger turbo/different dash, different wheels, louvers in front fenders, cross bracing in the rear hatch, larger sway bars, fender flares, larger intercooler....
I know a lil something about them..... I used to Work for Bill Anderson in Dundalk.
HP and TQ numbers don't matter in a truck as much as WHERE the power is available in the RPM band. You could have a truck that makes 700 lbs TQ but doesn't peak until 6k rpm's... so it's useless as a towing vehicle.
Just to prove a point:
The F-150 has the weakest engine, yet it tows the most and tows it faster off the line to 70 mph.
YOU are missing the point. I said the Mod motors peak TQ numbers are at a higher RPM and therefore lack the low end grunt. I'm not talking about the acceleration or anything else regarding the truck its self. The gearing in the Rear Diff./ Tranny are what gives the Ford it's numbers. You have not proved anything....
My point is/was that the GM ENGINE makes MORE power under the curve ( the rpm range inwhich most vehicles are used at)
Stock internals, Yes. Almost always though ARP Studs and a MLS H-gasket is used too.
Stop hatin'
It's not hatin' its fact.... My brother had one and it was a TOTAL DOG.
1. Ford Mod motors have NEVER made more TQ then a GM Gen3/4 V8.
2. The Mod motor ( Triton) has a more peaky powerband then the Ls
I think you guys are clumping numbers, the Diesel F250 are B.A but before this year, the F-150 truck motors have been weak.... Does the 4.6 not scream lack of TQ and HP?
SVT is the ford mustang right you are. F150's are cool, but the Dodge Ram won Motortrend truck of the year....
SVT wasn't always just for Mustangs, the lightning was an SVT, they made a Contour SVT and even a Focus SVT.
As for Ford Trucks, they' re decent but the drivetrain has always been behind anything that chevy produces . The only Ford DT component worth a damn is the 9" rear.
Ford Mod motors have been anemic since conception, they messed up by canning the 300 I6. Now that was a tough engine!
Those cars are no joke.
I'd just gut it, throw on some coilovers and slicks, and call it a day. Would be automatic beast status, especialy out on the twisties.
The non-turbos are LAME!

The bad thing about the Challenger is the body-roll, super high waistline and the Chrysler 300 interior. The Challenger is also the heaviest of the New Gen Ponies. I like the retro touches but overall it looks top heavy and sloppy.
