Tough- not really. Many of us fans know that we are mediocre for a lot of reasons- and will continue to be that way unless our philosophy, coaches, and or certain players change. Nearly the entire season was rather 'haunt'-worthy, Mr Byrne. Good luck in Cinncy, for what it is worth.

if we get M. LEWIS all that does change.

Lewis isn't going anywhere. I don't know why people believe that these head coaches would come BACK to the Ravens as a coordinator when there will be other teams looking for head coaches. We are the doorway to Head Coaching jobs. I think there are 7 or 8 of them who have done that.

What in the world are you going on about. I never said anything about knowing so much about football. The comments in the beginning are in response to some one who claimed to have been "involved with organized football" (whatever that means) for more than 5 years. The link that I grabbed was in response to this link that she posted

So yea it wasn't the best footage that I could have picked, but I am not going to scour the internet for videos of Matt Elam sucking. I took the first one in the google search and didn't think much of it. The other member stated that Elam has been doing well since Weddle got here. There are multiple issues that are problematic with that statement. And I stand by the claim that Elam is not a good safety. But if you choose to think Elams body of work says he is in fact a good safety, than you are certainly entitled to that opinion. Sure, Waller isn't a natural hands catcher, but I wouldn't say he has brick hands. He dropped two passes this season. I can't find any video of it but I am pretty sure that drop in Pittsburg had more to do with the safety hitting the ball than Wallers bad hands. But either way, I think it would be a mistake to cut one our young TE in order to make way for Watson. Although I am resigned to the fact that, that will more than likely happen. I don't think he has any unique qualities that separate him from the rest of the group.

    I WASN'T TALKING ABOUT YOU

If you knew as much about football as you claim, you would know that in Cover 3, Elam is responsible for the Smash/Dig route the outside WR is running (or for the RB in the flat) while the Deep Safety and CB are responsible for the Seam WR (Hogan). Just because a DB lines up over a guy does not mean that's "his man". Elam played that exactly like he should have - which is why Harbs & Weddle said so - but you must know better than all of them.

Watson will be back until Gilmore proves he can stay healthy. Waller has bricks for hands so you can't rely on him. Basically, out of that group other than Watson, Pitta is the only true pass-catcher. Maxx is the wild card - if he comes back and lives up to his talent, then the Ravens may let Watson walk for the salary cap space.

I never said I knew more than Harbs or Weddle.  That would have been someone else.  I was actually defending Elam in this case.  It was another member that was trashing his coverage on that play.  But that is water under the bridge at this point.

My thoughts on Steve retiring a Panther is, if they wanted him to retire a Panther, maybe they shouldn't have unceremoniously dumped him from the team.... In my opinion, he was whole-heartedly a Raven, and I wish he had spent his entire 16 years here 🏈

Ed Reed didn't finish his career in Baltimore...So be careful of your analogies. For that matter, the great Johnny U. didn't end his career with the Colt's either...Yet when you think of those two, Baltimore pops up automatically. It's a matter of perspective.

That was basically Ed Reed's choice; not the organizations. They didn't cut him.

Over 5 years, as a player or coach? Or were you the one responsible for providing the kids with orange slices at half time? Elam barely got on the field this year and when he did he looked awful. The guy is terrible in coverage and can't seem to make tackles consistently. Do you remember this?

I don't think Watson is a lock to be on the team next year. I don't think we would have even considered signing him when we did if we thought Pitta was coming back. We already have a 30 year old TE on the team, and he is five years younger than Watson. Pitta is superior to Watson in every aspect of the game and with Waller, Gilmore, and M Williams coming back to go along with Dennis, Watson is just a spare.

Don't be a jerk billiejean....  no, not providing orange slices.

The limited amount of play time he had, he performed very well.  You bring up one play...  Fact is that just about everyone has been happy with his progress since Weddle got here, took him under his wing and helped him out.

You really need to look into punctuation to start with. Orr was a monster, leading tackler if I remember right. People keep harping on our bad picks in the draft but if you compare our drafts with all the other teams we have done pretty dare good.

Sami....  You're right.  Even Gruden talked about Orr and his monster season.  Especially for being an undrafted guy we picked up.  He was Gruden's Grinder in the game against the Patriots.  People who are condemning our drafts aren't looking too far.  MOST other teams have done far worst.  Many have their "One Hit Wonder" and some of the others are as much a bust or more.

Hit the reply button to soon Orr was Run over by #26 on pittsburg gave up 3 tds in a row one to clevland to A Run when orr did not fill his hole 1 against the jets and the last I don't remember game but it was the same slant play that the jets scored and also Ravens are paying ben Watson 3 mill this year hester 3 Mill this year and Forsett 3Mill this year guess what they all have in common not one of them are on the team and let me go out on a limb here and say I bet Bisotti is not very happy about that

I have been involved in "organized football" for much longer than 5 years.  One thing I can tell you there was a drastic improvement in Elam since Weddle has been here.  As far as the salaries go...  Ben Watson was injured in the final game of preseason that was unavoidable...  He'll be back next year.  Hester was a bust; yes, but that's the only one that I can say they may regret.  To now have West and Dixon, keeping Forsett for part of the year was NOT a bad idea at all considering they knew that it would be a while before we got Dixon back.  Injuries to Watson and Dixon were unavoidable.  Bisciotti is a successful businessman, and I'm sure with being in the business for all these years, he understands all of that.  Come on man.

If Ozzie and Biscotti truly knows what's best for this franchise they will do whatever is possible to get Rex Ryan back in here as DC

He's not going to come back here....  and he and Bisciotti do not get along.  That was clear when he hired Harbs over Rex.  Of which I couldn't be happier.  Rex has been a disaster with every team.  With his ego, I think he'd be difficult to manage too.

I know. No one ever wants rex back. But Pees is just too good at losing games with weak 4th quarter play calling and there are not a ton of other options out there. Unfortunately he may still be our best option meaning nothing will change next year. What do you think about Norv? I was pulling for him in 2014 before we hired Gary. Boy was I wrong there! Loved having Kubiak running our offense. Like Gary, Norv is very good working with quarterbacks and I think Flacco really responds well to that type of mentorship.

I didn't say I necessarily wanted Pees back.  But I will tell you one thing, and that is our secondary played way better than last year... completely.  I would probably think or guess that maybe Leslie Frazier gets promoted.  if you can get Norv, maybe.  But really....  a 6th OC in 7 years?????  and then we want to blame Joe for inconsistencies?????  Just sayin.

Totally disagree on saying this team didnt underachieve, Eisenberg.
Any time you miss the playoffs you under achieve if your the Ravens organization, any time you dont make any kind of playoff run its a bad season.
Last year was a fluke because 20plus injuries, this year was 2 fold season long lack of commitment to running the football, which eventually would catch up to this team and Jimmy Smith being injured in the biggesr games.(Nyg,Steelers,Cowboys,Pats) all probably very different outcomes if Jimmy could stay healtier throughout his career.
Finally Steve B put the hammer down on demanding pass rush last year, yet they passed over local stud Yannik Nkaqwe, Noah Spence and many others for bums and nice guys like Correa and Koufusis.
We are done with nice guys. How many times does Mike Preston have to say it, fans, hosts on 1057 the fan, we need the edgy, nasty players back.
They better draft 1-2 15 sack dpoy von miller, sizzle in his prime type edge rushers this year, and another elite cb since jimmy is always hurt

    My wish would be
Ravens are currently sitting at 16
    Rnd 1 pk 16
Olbr/de charles Harris Mizzou, Barnett Tenn, Smoot Illinois
Rnd 2 Cb Tredavious White Lsu, Jordin Lewis Mich, Cordea Tankersley Clem,
Rnd 3 Amarah Darboh Wr, Dede Westbrook Wr,
Rnd 3 comp for KO Budda Baker S/CB, Eddie Jackson S
Rnd 4 OG /NT Mason Cole mich, Vanderdoes ucla,
    Rnd 5 NT/OG

Some of us believe that Mike Preston is a complete idiot.....  So, that, to me, isn't a valid argument.
