I agree with both of you as well.... Lots of Monday Morning GM's on these sites.

Yeah, moved us up 1 spot......
1 minute ago, bioLarzen said:They were both "#1" though - in the sense that they were the first picks of their drafts for the Ravens.
Yup... Upshaw was #35 in 2012. That year the Ravens traded back.
2 minutes ago, RavenManiac#7 said:With Upshaw, Oz did his beloved "trading back", out of the first rd, so, essentially, he was "like" our #1. Not sure on Kindle. Think he was 2nd rd too. Don't think we had a 1st, or traded back again. Good point though. 1st picks should help immediately. Stanley-yeah, Mosley-yeah, J.Smith-yeah but hurt So much, Oher-below avg T, Upshaw-ehh, Kindle-NO, Elam-NO, Permian-still holding out hope. #2 & #3 in 2016- doubt it. Overall, I think we could hope for better. On Ozzie's defense, though, some late round picks there. He just has to stop trading back!
Upshaw came right around the second pick of Round 2. He was ticked off that he went into the second round...
13 minutes ago, RavenManiac#7 said:You're right about our other needs, although you didn't mention pass rushers. But, didn't you kind of prove GMAC's point about us needing better wrs? Ours simply do not gain separation. Conversely to what you said, you can bring in the best offensive linemen in the world, but if you can't gain separation and catch and hold onto the ball, then you're screwed anyway. Even the Cincy announcers talked about it. What I'm trying to point out is it's a joint effort. OL's gotta block, and wrs gotta gain separation. You need both. One won't get the job done. Unless, maybe it's the Cheatriots and Brady, and that we and Joe are not.
No.... Not exactly... You have guys like Perriman who is very fast, same with Wallace. They are being double covered, as would most other WR's regardless. My point was that WR's can get seperation if given the time for the play to develop, and by that time the pocket has collapsed and Joe is under pressure, running for his life, and throwing off his back foot. A very good example would be to watch a Dallas game. They have the #1 line in the NFL right now. Dak Prescott has 7 or 8 seconds every play. Joe is lucky to get 2 or 3. The announcers talked about all of the Joe Critics.. and how a guy like him is constantly under pressure and doesn't get the time he needs. And he has been under pressure since 2012. Most of his successful passes during the SB run were out to the right, because most of his pressure was on his left side back then. Torrey even had a hard time getting open. And that they had addressed it very well with Stanley. I still believe their O-Line is the same as Dallas... Look at the beginning of the season WITHOUT Br*dy.
1 hour ago, GMAC said:Can we hire the Steelers front office as consultants to help us draft a WR? Looks like they found another one with that Ayers kid.
We have bigger problems than that. We need more secondary players, and offensive line guys first. How about a Center for starters. You can bring in the best WR's in the world, but if you can't block and give Joe the time for them to get open, then you're screwed anyway... Yesterday, nobody could get open. Even the Cincy announcers talked about it.
Amazing how 2017 will be the 5th year in a row we've played the Dolphins and the 4th year in a row we play the Jaguars.
Yup... I've been to a couple of them down here. I was just asking, "Why do we play the dolphins every year"?
1) I am in Baltimore and I never for one second wondered if the Ravens would call Kubiak about a job. They only call they should make to him is to thank him for what he did for this organization and to wish him good health. Do you think the fans are a bunch of idiots?
2) No, the Ravens didn't play like I expected the team to play, they didn't play like that for most of the season. The players and coaching staff repeatedly said you can't use the Pittsburgh loss as an excuse and that's exactly what everyone is doing. You know what that shows? Weak will, no passion, and no heart. To lay that kind of a stinker against a team with that many issues was inexcusable.
3) A whole lot of changes should be made for sure and it should start with the coaching staff. Tired of hearing about all this potential. Where is it? Why isn't it developing? Is it all of the players not having the talent or are the coaches not teaching them well enough?
4) Bright spots need to include: Dennis Pitta being The Bionic Man, Micheal Pierce at DT, Zachary Orr at MLB, Ronnie Stanley at LT, Yanda at LG, Alex Lewis at G/T when he could play.
... and Tucker
He's not a-scared.... WTH
If you're shedding tears everyday, it's not time.

Guys... I really think they want this game, and I don't blame them.. I know I do
55 minutes ago, Deflated Football said:Flacco did all he could to try and win at Heinz. Two dropped TD's from Pitta and Waller and it wouldn't have been close. The defense lost that game. You have to give respect where it's due, and I'm not even the biggest Flacco lover.
My mom always said, if you can' find something nice to say, you don't say nothing at all. So did Bambi.. but some folks can NEVER find anything nice to say, even when it's well deserved. ANYWAY, who said he didn't care about winning???? Oh, that's right, some of the so called, fans.

OK? He's ticked off we didn't win... I would say it's more of "or something"... He played his heart out in that game. So did our offense. I'd say he was disappointed in the end??? I know I was.
55 minutes ago, b93333 said:He was the best of the old breed. The NFL won't be the same without him. Camp... pay attention to this guy.
Perriman too..... I like that Breshad is spinning the ball after catches.... Smith has definitely had an impact on these guys.
This makes me so sad.... But glad that we got to experience "Senior". What a truly great man. A friend of mine actually got to know him personally, and would agree he's a great guy. I'm gonna miss him... a lot.
HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RAVEN A LOT SOONER..
STEVE SMITH SR. WILL ALWAYS BE A RAVEN.
37 minutes ago, ByTheBay said:Sorry mom but 8-8 or 9-7 is the definition of mediocre. You are what your record says you are. We will get em next year.
While otherwise I'd agree.... It's my opinion... and yes you had Sizzle, Smith, and Flacco; three of the best players coming off major injuries. Considering that and many other scenarios, I wouldn't call us mediocre for the very fact of that and that with all of the newer, better players like Wallace, Perriman, and Weddle, Tavon, and others on Defense, and Sizzle's torn biceps, we were a much better team than what our record said. TIME to meld together... Time to get the chemistry going... We had all the potential, and still do to be much better than what the record said. THAT is why I say we were a better team than what the 9-7 says... Teams have gone to the playoffs with that record, and have won it all... with that record. Just sayin.
8 minutes ago, Purple Dawg 96 said:I question Joe Flacco because the Ravens are not in the playoffs because of a 4 game loosing streak to teams we should have beaten! They were all winnable except for the skins they beat us! You need a run game no doubt but teams are winning in the air Slinging that Rock but everyone wants to slow the game down and run on 1st and 2nd pass on 3rd and punt keeping the game tight instead of opening it up! Get over the squeelers game they just finally won PERIOD!
PS Do the Ravens need to put squeelers helmets on every team they play it seems to be the only time Joe gets motivated? ! I can't believe we're not in the playoffs I keep pinching myself! SMDH
Some might determine that it took the first 6 games or so for him to be healthy and confident. We also had 7 different O-Line configurations during that time too. There hasn't been any consistency in any part of this team this year... in a year when we all expected our offense to come together... It was when everyone got healthy that we rebounded and the defense faltered. It's a 3 piece fit. And it's only when those 3 pieces come together that a team actually is able to survive through the end of it all.... The Patriots may not be able to do it. Miami will not do it either. The Steelers have the best shot.
9 minutes ago, balfan23 said:I really do think this is the end of the line for Marvin in CIN. However, I do think he is one that will get another chance. Other teams will view him as an Andy Reid type coach ... a guy who has had relative success but just ran his course on a given team and could succeed with a fresh start somewhere new.
You can't blame people for looking to the former HC ranks for a new coordinator. I don't think we are interested continuing to have coaches use our coordinator spot as a stepping stone to an HC job as has been the case. IMO the best coordinator hiring you can get is a guy who was a fantastic coordinator whose time at HC has run its course and they ready to just settle down into doing they probably loved the most in the first place and ride that out to retirement.
We came so close in getting that in Kubiak. If Fox didn't do such a terrible job in DEN, he may still be here. I welcome seeing anyone we can get who has a chance to put his imprint on the team and might stay for more than a year or two.
I agree Balfan. We all knew Kubiak would leave. And yeah, we need a Coordinator who is going to stay for a while. This revolving door of coordinators has to stop. We have had 5 in 7 years and expect our QB to be a top ranked guy. That can't happen as long as we are doing this foolishness.
16 minutes ago, sami said:if we win against the Bengals, that means we were a foot away from being 10-6 and the AFC North Champs and so many of you are crying cuz were no good and have lousy drafts and our coaches stink. Maybe you need to find another team to criticize cuz its really hard to find a lot of fault with the Ravens....
Sorry Mom Gene, This was meant for someone else. I agree with you about taking the win. Don't know how it got to a reply to your post.
The new quote system shows the "string" of the conversation. It's no problem. I agree with you too. There is a lady here in Florida, right up the street, who is a Steelers fan. Her family is calling it "The Immaculate Extension". They know they never would have won otherwise. We had a very respectful conversation after the game. I WANT THE WIN. AND I HOPE WE KICK THEIR BUTTS.
Tough- not really. Many of us fans know that we are mediocre for a lot of reasons- and will continue to be that way unless our philosophy, coaches, and or certain players change. Nearly the entire season was rather 'haunt'-worthy, Mr Byrne. Good luck in Cinncy, for what it is worth.
Speak for yourself. I know we are much better than mediocre.
if we drafted RAMSEY instead of STANLEY we win against PITT.some silly, early mock drafts have us picking a running back?? i say,QB and CB.
I'm glad we have Stanley; especially after last year. Ronnie is a GREAT guy to have Joe's Blind Side.

Really??? OK. Not seeing Rex coming back here at all. Leslie Frazier is our secondary's coach, and has drastically improved those guys. I think the article says that they don't believe we are changing OC's at all. It appears that all of the Monday Morning GM's have their opinions as usual, but the real front office has others. But I'm just guessing that the folks here just seem to know more than they do.
