No.. they blew a lot of their cap yesterday and today.

You know.... The Colts are spending their money too.... Won't be long, and they'll be in the situation that lots of teams like ourselves are in... It'll only go so far, then you're done... Then you got an old team and no CAP space... Cuz, eventually they're gonna have to pay Luck!

You cannot keep changing your designation just so you can jack up your pay. Life doesn't work that way... Neither should the NFL... You were drafted and have played that position for 3 years... Now all of a sudden you're up for a new contract and you want to change your designation... after you missed 3/4 of the season with a serious injury... just so you can make more money... Putting it that way just sounds absolutely ridiculous. Now on the other hand if you had done what Jimmy Graham did..... that would be a different story... The Saints would have rolled over and died without him last season... A completely different situation to be honest. He proved his worth.

The problem with that is that I see players playing this game every year.... Wanting to change their position just to get more money... It's ridiculous. You're either a TE, a WR, a RB or FB... You think you'd see a FB wanting receiver money, because he lines up in the slot??? It will happen. I could see a secretary wanting CEO pay because she sits in his chair most of the time while he's out of the office.... Sounds ridiculous, doesn't it.

If this is truly the case, then why would you EVER be classified as a TE... There would be absolutely no reason or incentive to be one.

I personally don't think that these guys win this argument..

It's never been classified as only WR territory... I guess then Rice and Leach, and Pierce could also be paid based on WR pay, because they go into the slot and catch those short slants and screens FREQUENTLY. Like A LOT!

...and despite the fact that he ONLY played in 4 games,... 79% of how many snaps??? I think is a good argument... If he's a "wide receiver" then why is he classified as a TE and never mentioned being reclassified until now??? These are all questions that need to be asked.

I agree.... I do think Pitta is a good TE. And, he will get picked up by another team, and for good money, that's why the issue is such a hot one. If his agent wants to argue that he lined up as a WR... then the Ravens can argue that he only played 4 games total last year with a severe injury... and try and get a deal done now. If I am the Baltimore Ravens, (which I'm not obviously) I might look at trying to get the contract deal done for the lower money... with maybe a performance bonus.... If you don't perform, then you don't get paid... I don't think that signing bonuses and performance bonuses count against the cap, simply because they are not guaranteed $$$.

Pitta is an issue right now... yeah, and so is the O-Line. Without improving that, you got nothing... So you gotta get Pitta signed, or let him go, either one, and focus on that O-Line. We all saw what a sieve looks like last season... You had Joe on the ground and running for his life with no chance to hit anyone...

It all makes sense... As much as I hate losing guys that are productive and mean a lot to the team, the CBA really screwed with teams like ours...

OK... I'll give on that one.... that makes sense. I just think you could definitely see a difference when he wasn't in the game. That center line became a sieve on many occasion, and it was left to Smith to pick up the slack... and Suggs was backed up more too and couldn't make his outside attack... was kept back to watch that slot.

Canty isn't going anywhere.... He came in and became a really good leader last year. I like him; his play and his personality.

What would be the bad thing about restructuring Ngata??? I mean if we can free up more CAP space, all the while keeping him on the roster??? Where's the harm in that... He's still effective up the middle. (just asking)

That guy ain't goin nowhere..... I will be EXTREMELY disappointed if he does.

LOL.... I know right??? I'm with SAM. If he had good hands, he would have been a good weapon. Trouble is... he didn't. Pitta, has the size and GREAT hands.

I'm not sure about Leach... Kubiak liked him, and I know we have Juzchyck. That one is iffy.... But I'd venture to say yes. McClain I think could be a big help CAP wise... I know Dickson is going... They just can't keep him.

That and he played, what??? 3 games?.. Hey's not got a whole lot of bargaining power... but other teams know of his potential, as do we.

We have to remember it's Preston.

That's what I'm thinking. Just hope he realizes his worth as do other teams. But I have a feeling that somebody is going to offer to overpay him, just like other teams did with Kruger and Ellerbe.

Somebody out there will offer him more than that, unless he agrees to a neighborhood discount... He's $8.7M against the cap?
