Never got a chance to do a post mortem on the game. 1st and foremost, they erased a terrible first half, a 20-7 deficit IN Pittsburgh without SS. Offense- Huge relief to see the run game look dominant. The offense is going to have to simplify, pound the ball and take shots off of play action moving forward. It's obvious that this WR group without Smith isn't going to get the job done. Also, PRAY that Eugene Monroe returns soon. James Hurst is god awful. Defense - The Steelers scored their points mainly on turnovers, they held Bell relatively in check until the 4th quarter where he picked up some yards. Main thing is that they finally held up with the game on the line which should be a huge confidence boost moving forward. Coaching- Harbaugh coached to win it, I didn't like the fake FG, but there was plenty of time left and the defense really didn't allow any particularly long scoring drives. Trestman has to dial back the offense, teams just blitz when we try to go empty, receivers don't get that quick separation to take advantage. Moving forward, they have to run the ball and control the clock. Take your shots when they are there. That method got us to the playoffs Joe's first two seasons. Pees- Called it pretty safe, the defense mainly gave up points after offensive mistakes. Overall, as I said. They in a sense saved the season with that win. Losing Smith and Campanaro hurts tremendously though, and I'm interested to see what they do as far as game planning going forward. Also in the game thread, I remember saying "Scobee is their kicker, we got this" in the first quarter I think. Lol.
