  1. Anyone have thoughts on Jimmy G? Curious what people think of him.

At first glance I was 'naah, really?', but then I thought of those unproven QBs taken in this games' first round.

Those picks are bigger leaps of faith than this one; JG flashed potential AND will probably more ready than the 2 rookies.

12th round sounds legit to me.

  2. Cheers. He was on my radar last time but his age made me a little iffy on him at that point. This feels more like the right time for him.

eheh it worked the same for me with Walker, as I passed on him for Landry and luckily he was still there one round later.

    Those little satisfactions ;D

  3. It came down to Eric Decker or Torrey Smith for me.  Felt like Decker had proved himself a bit more and Smith wouldn't be utilized as well with Bridgewater at QB, as he doesn't posses a cannon.

    Wise choice.

I love this 'mental' side of the game.. things you don't need to care of on fantasy football. You're also brought to inform yourself a lot more bout players you didn't even know the names of.

I start to think I won't join a fantasy league at all this summer.

p,s; how do you guys plan to work this ravensnick thing out? If he's been skipped 6 times, hence 5 allotments, is his clock down to 22 minutes from now on? Just to know.

  4. Ouch. That one hurt. Walker is one of my favorite players. Real and fantasy. I didn't think anyone would jump on him so soon. Good pick. And I hate you a little for making it!

    Ahah sorry man.

There is another TE I absolutely love and I would have waited for if I didn't go with Walker, but quality TEs are few compared to other skill positions and a man can't keep telling himself 'next round'.

  5. Wait, you haven't drafted anyone for your OL or secondary yet? Not one player for OL or secondary?

Mike Iupati, that's all.. but if you're sitting between the 10th-20th pick every round you have few choices as the best bargains are made on the verges, were runs on positions start. I don't eat crumbs the others leave me just because I'm afraid I can't match-up.

I rather build up another solid block (my receivers match perfectly what I want from my pass-first offense: possession+YAC, deep threat, the perfect slot guy and a great TE who can create mismatches and block for my numerous screens; I have one of the best NTs in the game, one of the best 3tech penetrators who never had help around in his team and couldn't show up and will force the QBs out of the pocket where I have a great OLB duo. This unit can also turn easily to a 4-3 with one of the best coverage ILBs in the middle playing either the zone or a TE).

Also, I think that it's easier to put together an Oline with sub-par (on paper) players who will gel together than a dominant front 7 made of garbage individuals.

I still have some good DBs left on board and I'll anyway put together a better unit than our Ravens' last season (with Jimmy out) :D

  6. Good article, thanks for sharing.

PFF has him rated negatively against the run but rotoworlds new updates say otherwise.

Granted it's rotoworld...Even though PFF is not the, "say all" both websites can't be compared with one another. I thought I read it somewhere else too but I can't find it. I'll take PFF's word on it though.

Didn't mean to diminish the pick anyway :D

He's a good pick and has time to improve, just not a huge steal as PFF pass-rushing ranking would indicate, imo.

  7. Considering I've selected only one Olinemen so far I had to opt for a pass-first offense.. screens and slants all day long.
A solid slot WR was perfect for me at this point and who better than a young top 5 slot player who can block?
I was close to grab another player (different position) but I went with my functional Landry.

  8. Well I'm happy with him at this point. He'll be playing on the same line as Star/Short/Houston, which I think could be pretty dominant.

It's weird though about that run rating. I've read in multiple other places that he's very stout against the run.

Ye I think the spot fits him good too.

    I read it here http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2279329-how-robert-ayers-jr-can-help-the-new-york-giants-pass-rush

Maybe I just misinterpretated due to the clear language limitations.
