  1. Funny, I was actually just listening to 105.7 the Fan tonight and they called out the ravens message board. They made a good point stating the traffic on this board is extremely small compared to cities like NY, Dallas, New England etc. Which puts into perspective we actually have an extremely small fan base compared to an organization like the Redskins who reach out to the DC metropolitan area and then some. And im sure has a huge reason why we dont get much air play, and also why you rarely hear us on ESPN or NFL network. Ravens fans just dont realize that and/or hate to accept it. Just learn to love what we have, which is a great blue collar organization. Thats what made our super bowl run that much better, knocking off two heavyweights like Denver and New England in their own house.

Wonder who said that. PG County Redskin fan Tony, or Dallas Cowboy lover Ryan, or Devils advocate Kenny Weinman, or cornball Bruce Cunningham...because it's crap.

  2. Dean Pees must go. His philosophy of 'react' instead of 'attack' sucks. He had an excuse last year to be conservative because of the injuries to the secondary. There's too much talent on this defense to be conservative and NOT be aggressive. I'm not worried about the offense. The Oline is a little beat up and Joe had a couple of bad series but no worries. We're going to score points but can we stop anybody? That's the million dollar question.

  3. It is shocking how little play the Ravens get on local radio. Especially when compared to other markets where football and the local team is discussed routinely and in great detail

There used to be a weekly Ravens show on Saturday on 1090. Last I checked it has been replaced by a show about wine.

The vinnie and rob show on 105.7 is abysmal unless you enjoy two unfunny guys cackling over themselves. That station tends to talk only in a very general sense about the Ravens ...and almost as an afterthought.

Will someone on this board start a podcast? Please.

Yup, sports radio in Baltimore is bad. I'm not a fan or foe of Nestor but I wish he'd bring back some sports talk shows, especially in the morning because 105.7 is terrible. Vinny and Rob is the only show I can get through; although they often spend too much time off topic and aren't as funny as they think they are. No disrespect to Scott Garceau but his TV legend reputation doesn't cross over to radio. Constantly interrupts, talks over everybody, and he and Jeremy's attempt at sarcasm every 5 seconds is brutal. Lastly, Steve Davis is the worst! Uptight elitist attitude. He's worked everywhere. A journeyman sports reporter because he sucks. Ed Norris seems like a nice guy but he's out of place; not a sports guy.

Since 105.7 is the Orioles flagship station I imagine they have to dedicate a large portion of time to Oriole talk.

  4. No and no.

The Ravens don't need to make up jobs for millionaires who embarrassed the organization. If they want to make up a job make up one for a struggling ex-Raven who might need support and money. No more RR interviews. No more begging.

Good luck to him but lets turn the page.

  5. Yup, he's isn't ever going to see the field if he can't contribute on ST.

Paul Kruger couldn't or didn't want to be on ST. They finally let him on the field.

Ozzie Newsome and the scouting staff on the Ravens is top notch. They continually bring in so much talent this team wins inspite of Harbaughs coaching and decision making.

  6. It seems like even the players don't care about the rivalry, seems like only Titan fans care about us. Remember two hard nose football teams, stealing players, breaking streaks, fights, all that. Then all of a sudden it just stopped. Hopfuly Mariota can change things. Anyone else kinda sad about this?

No. Re-alignment along w/the downfall of the Titans killed this rivalry.

  7. Says who? WR has been a problem all season. We have no consistent receivers at all. Its clearly one of the biggest needs on the team.

Mellette has done nothing besides make a few catches against 2nd and 3rd stringers in the preseason. Expecting him to fill any void at WR is foolish.

And you expect a Rookie to do what? At least Mellette knows the system and next year can develop into a fine no. 3 or 4 receiver.

  8. Corderelle Patterson and Deandre Hopkins disagree with your assessment that drafting a WR deep in the 1st isn't ready to start.

Hopkins has almost 800 yards receiving playing with Schaub and Keenum.

Patterson proved why he is dynamic last week and would be lighting it up if he didnt have cassell/ponder/freeman throwing to him.

How about keenan Allen in the third round? Jacoby is at best a 3rd receiver

Again WR is not a priority this year.  Why would they draft a WR in the first round when they desperately need to improve the OL and DL?

Plus, if Aaron Mellette is not in Harbaughs infamous doghouse he looks to be a deep threat with good hands.

  9. This is the issue I see now, he will get paid something next year due to his kick return ability alone, but where does he fit in? Torrey is obviously #1, Marlon is at worst #3, plus the Ravens have to draft a top tier WR next year. So if they draft a top tier WR that becomes #1, Torrey # 2 (torrey and rookie are interchangable depending on who is drafted, ie - lee, evans, watkins etc), Marlon # 3, Jacoby becomes # 4 , do you overpay for a potentially # 4 receiver?

They'll be drafting late in the first round and drafting a WR that would be ready to start right away is highly unlikely.

Plus, this year's priority should be OL and DL along w/the fact Jacoby is a game changer and way better than a #4 receiver.
