  1. We let good players walk out like they are nothing. Darian Stewart is playing lights out in Denver, James Ihedigbo is very solid in Detroit. They were not expensive at all, but instead we decide to bring old, injury prone guys...

Right. Player evaluation has been suspect the past few years. It's not the talent or lack thereof. Obviously, it's the coaching or the front office.

  2. Who will step up on this soft team? I need Ozzie to read this: YOU'VE ASSEMBLED A TEAM OF MARSHMELLOWS.

A 36 year old guy is the best player on your team and the only one bringing the toughness. From here on we will find out if Harbaugh really is a good coach or overrated.

  3. The Ravens may not want Babin to just rush the qb. There is a chance they may want him to learn all the calls because Dean Pees generally likes for his players to be more than one dimensional .

Maybe so. Let him rush until he learns the entire defense. Especially since we have no pass rush. Plus, he could open up so many opportunities for Dumerville.

  4. I believe he's a great coach.  The way he weaves tales to inspire his players. He is very articulate and tends to play himself as a simple man. He's far from that.

When the Patriots were cheating, he noticed it and got in the referees faces almost immediately.

If he has one flaw it may be a slight Napoleon complex and I'm referring to the Boldin and Pollard purge.  I truly believe we have not yet recovered from that mistake. If the rumors are true, he needs to consider these are proud men and there is a time to compromise.

I wouldn't give him walking papers on this team's 0-3 start, ror a poor year, but I believe we'll make a decent showing yet.

Nor the knee jerk release of a playmaker like Jacoby J. after one unthrilling year.

  5. Also, where is the fire from our defense? Where are those nasty hits that we used to throw on guys that dared to come over the middle, or when the QB scrabbled. We need to strike fear into the opponent again, and I dont care if we do it on offense or defense but SSS deserves better than his teammates are giving him, thats for certain.

There's no fire on this team. I remember after Ray retired everytime Harbaugh was asked who would be the leader(s) on the team he'd get annoyed as if it wasn't important/overrated. It's Harbaugh's team now. These are the types of players he's wanted. This team is soft, uninspired, personality challenged, and ill coached (players out of position and can't tackle) It's a matter of time before they start tuning the coaches out.

  6. Never liked the energy of the Ravens since Harbaugh took over, but hey, they managed to squeeze out victories out of some terrible performances frequently. All prior set standards and expectations were discarded....a SB was won and it seemed like all was well. However, the handwriting has been on the wall for a few years. The Ravens were no longer ferocious, heck they could no longer play a complete football game with great effort from beginning to end, as sleep-walking through stretches of games then trying to pull out the miracle at the end now became the norm. The Ravens became a team that could get up for the Steelers game or some other big game, and then completely disappear in other games, to the amazement of the pundits. They always needed an additional emotional boost or they weren't showing up. For two seasons in a row, the Ravens offense maintained a pattern of not showing up in the first halves, then turning it on in the second halves. These anomalies, we all endured, as long as they got enough wins to get in the playoffs. Well, the chickens have come home to roost. What we see now is a culmination of everything Harbaugh has brought to the Ravens. A soulless team with no fire and tenacity. Indeed Harbaugh seems to have an abhorrence for the trademark Ravens prideful and emotional players, who might challenge his leadership. What about Harbaugh's coaching hires? Well, in my estimation, it was nothing short of nepotism that led him to hire his father's buddy(Greg Mattison)out of college as our DC, and I won't be surprised if same is the case with the rest of his staff. It's all wrong with this team, and these are not the Ravens I know and love.

If I could reach through this screen and give you a hug I would because you nailed it!

Us, never were impressed w/John Harbaugh folk are dismissed. There's no personality, fire, or much talent on this team. He's finally got the type of players he's wanted and is being exposed for the weak coach/player evaluator he is. This team mirrors him; which is very AVERAGE.

  7. If they traded for a young vet with upside there may be something there. But Babin is a guy brought in only because of the Suggs injury. Remember what the Ravens were looking for when drafting ZDS. They saw him in the light of Mcphe not a future Suggs replacement. So it makes sense that they aren't just telling him next man up. He'll get a long and hard look before they gave up on him. Keeping a guy like Steven Means and giving him the opportunity to replace Suggs would have been more of a story. Babin is just another role player option.

I think Pees will give Upshaw every opportunity to be a 3 down guy and be to the defense what Suggs has been for years. Now clearly he won't be the pass rush guy Suggs was but he has the ability to be the DE playing OLB. I think ZDS and or Babin will serve as that Mcphee type guy. I don't see this as a major signing just insurance. I will say that the younger version of Babin was exactly the type of guy Pees likes because he could get pressure without blitzing. Just don't know how much he has left.

    Where is Means?

  8. 105.7 is the only constantly running sports channel but it is atrocious! Very little Ravens football and really loud and obnoxious hosts with little substance. Man, it is time for us fans to have a full time radio show dedicated to the Ravens! I miss it badly.

It is bad. From the lame morning show to the station's GM who knows nothing about Baltimore sports. He's a Pittsburgh guy.

  9. The Ravens cut Daniel Brown to bring back Asa Jackson?????? I can't believe this. Jackson is a terrible CB and fumbles on returns. Here's a great idea. Activate him for the Denver game, so Manning can throw 8 TDs.

Haha. Well I guess Asa is just as exciting as Jacoby. They both have you on the edge of your seat.

Question: Why is John Harbaugh above (constructive) criticism on this board? The love affair is embarrassing.

  10. How is B. Perriman a bust when we haven't even played the first game yet? As far as the Jacoby situation, if Harbaugh wanted him here he'd still be here. Yes, I blame Harbaugh. This team makes some strange personnel moves. Like, why is Asa back? Why cut a young promising receiver for a four year player who's done nothing the four years he's been here?

Where's the speed? Deonte Thompson's out there. He can return kicks.

  11. I am disappointed with the Vaughn cut.

Seemed to me at least he was one of the better players on the field Thursday night.

He looked better at corner and played just as well as Trawick and Levine on ST. Harbaugh is obsessed with the ST guys then when they're forced to use them in a game they can't cover anybody. Oh well...
