I think the defense has a great game,  I don't think they score more than 10 points.  Now for the offer we,  no clue.   I wouldn't be surprised if we only score 13pts or if we out up 35.  We just need a game where things bounce our way.

I wish we would score 35 pts and the Browns 10 but knowing the play calling that has been used this season as soon as we get a decent lead Pees backs off and the lead narrows a bit. Is the only thing i miss about old Brian B. He pushed that score no matter how big the lead. I think a blow out would boost the offenses confidence and give the Defense a well needed game to just tee off and get rid of some frustration. lol

  2. I just about stopped thinking long term for the Ravens and enjoy them game by game. I think i have become a spoiled fan and expect play-offs every year. I think the team we see on the field this year will be like night and day compared to next seasons. I am in no way saying we cannot make the play-offs and in fact hope we do but i just want to take it game by game and watch the rising stars mature and grow while the staying competitive. I am tired of pointing fingers and griping about the team. I am lucky we have such an organization here again and just want to enjoy it. After all does anyone remember what we had before and the talent that used to roll in and out when we had the colts ? Kind of puts it in perspective huh.

  3. He does have a lot of the same risk reward thinking  as Ed Reed. When he goes for the INT it usually could be either a great play or 7 points for the other team. I love that aggressive style. To bad he is so small or would love to see him be the same intimidating figure as Reed as well. Reed knew how to lay a hit. Cannot wait to see what a year under this kids belt brings.

CJ Mosley was great in coverage that guy may end up with 7 interceptions or something before the season ends.

If we would have had the ball bounce our way we would be leading the league in int's. Yesterday Weddle was so surprised that the ball was given as a gift that he could not hold onto it. I almost cried laughing as i know that feeling. I am so proud of our defense.

  5. Guys, that was my Superbowl this year and what a gift. Our Defense is dominant, special teams played a very good game and the offense did not bleed enough to hurt itself. What a game. Love to see the Steelers leave the field with the Loss.

A couple scary moments like when Flacco slid lol. I think it may take an entire season to get the old Joe back. He just is not as sharp as he usually is and is like he cannot feel pocket pressure from the backside at all. He will be back in form soon though.

Was that onside kick (Jig) awesome or what..

First, I think we need to stop moving away from the run. You have to stay at it and keep trying even when it doesn't work because we saw yesterday that while the Jets didn't succeed early against our run defense, they eventually broke it and got yards. That's how it goes in the run game. You need to keep at it, and we frankly abandon it too much and too early. It needs to stop because it's putting too much pressure on the OL  and Joe Flacco and even the WR. Once the run game is gone, the defense can predict we're passing and it becomes easy. I think we need to throw more 2TE sets with Waller and Pitta to beat linebackers (although having Revis on Pitta didn't help) and have some sets where we have two RB in the backfield having both West and Allen back there where one's the receiving RB and the other is the runner. It'll give Joe a checkdown option (Allen), and give him the option to hand-off to a better runner in West (not as good of hands).

Second, I think we need to go for more interior pressure through the A-gap. Our interior DL is our strength, and we aren't getting it done on the edges so go for the interior A gap using Brandon Williams to open the hole for a linebacker like Correa who gets washed out when touched. I'm not talking about a full-on blitz, but sending a LB up the middle would help. I think when Wright returns, he should be focused on using the sideline and put a safety on top of him to get the inside route should the WR motion inside because Wright can't defend the inside.

Excellent post and agreed on all counts.

If we cannot play to our strengths then at least try to counter them (O'line), quick drops, play action and would love to see Flacco move outside the pocket. With his arm he could make every throw Rodgers does while on the move. Keep and extra guy in the backfield if we need to keep Flacco in the pocket. Run Run Run.. LOL

I think a lot of our penalties are emotional ones either due to aggression or frustration so keeping the chains moving by controlling the ball through the run. I do think we would pick up more pressure from our defense if they were not on the field 3/4 of the game and remain winded.

I know a lot of folks will not agree with the next statement but for now forget the "go deep" mentality. Short to middle passes would serve us much better i feel.

  7. By the numbers posted i can gather a bit as well. It says a lot about Flacco. Even if he is tough and hides his aches and pains to start  He needs to do what is best for the team. Also you can not have a "tender" qb and a awful O'line. Someone needs to step up and make a call on improving the line ASAP.

  8. LMAO,,, Time to just accept that we are a bad team and Harb's is just accepting it as he knows he has Steve B fooled that we only need to get "healthy". Even if we get healthy we cannot play against middle to top tier teams. Flacco is awful this year and if our roster is always just one hurt player away from a collapse then something needs to be done to bring in better coach's to teach the back ups and or get better talent here. It has been obvious for years that this team has an awful eye for offensive talent.

I wish Steve would grow a pair and make Harb's feel some heat in order to do something constructive instead of staying status quo. Look where it has gotten us the last 2 seasons. Other teams survive injuries. We are the new Browns in our division.

  9. You are comparing Flacco to Rodgers ? Um, Lets see, Rodgers makes most of his plays outside of the pocket, extends plays and has pretty reliable aim. Flacco on the other hand is getting a lot like Boller in that i mean he has been hit so many times he almost frets to get rid of the ball and his accuracy is taking a hit because of that. Wait, that is no excuse, Rodgers led the league in taking hits for a few years straight. Please do not compare Flacco to Rodgers, not even on the same level.

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't we have five consecutive losses when we won the Super Bowl?

If that is the case do you REALLY believe we would have won the Super Bowl if we had fired Harbaugh after loss number three that season?

This is a non issue at this point in time.

How is this a non issue. This was supposed to be the easy part of the schedule. When you have a team that cannot score points you NEVER take points off of the board and he has cost us 2 games this year doing just that. Yeah, he deserves the hot seat and a tight tight leash or he walks; If he does not stop with those foolish calls and we are out of the play offs i would drop him and bring in next years new coach early..

We are not a good team. We have relied on excuses instead of finding solutions.

And it would be nice if perriman, could, you know, catch the ball since he is a reciever and all

LMAO, now that is a good one. Got me rolling.

What i do not understand is why does Harb's keep taking points off of the board ? That is 2 losses thanks to him. We are a hurting team and points are always a premium with us so what does Harb's do (makes it even harder on his team). I thought the coach was supposed to put us in situations to win. Clearly not with Harb's.

Here's a little bit of what I want to see

Make two TE sets great again! Clearly, the OL needs help til they get their act together. And we happen to have some Pitta guy, and Gilmore; both of whom are good blocking TEs and are reliable targets to throw to. Putting them both on the field together will help disguise our intentions on any given play. Are they in there to block for the HB? Is one staying back in pass pro while the other getting loose to run a route? Are they both there to terrorize opposing LBers and safeties? Who knows?? And that's the point.

Don't be afraid of commitment. The running game loves you, and will always be there for you. All it wants in return is your attention. Give her what she needs, and she will take care of the rest.

If it was meant to be, set it free. You have yourself a QB who can unleash the horrors of hell upon any secondary. You have two WRs who are quicker than a Trestman tenure. Unleash the fury! Let the Flacco go deep until his arm falls off if that's what he wants.

    Let's go!

Agreed and think if anyone could fit the fullback spot to add more protection back their for Joe. Even if the new OC is a genius it will do no good if Flacco is on his back or scrambling.

  13. I do not think it was a "bad" game. I do think we were playing way above our talent in the first three games and the last 2 games show the true Ravens. We are good enough to make any game competitive but we are going to have a lot of tight losses again this year.

    I will play along though:

Good, Defense yet again show how tough they are.

Bad: Special Teams in all aspects.

Sad: That without Stanley Joe gets chased all over the field. Would have been a completely different game if Joe had the time.

  14. djdave, lets see how well any other QB would have done with no time in the pocket (because he never had a pocket} If you want someone to blame give that to the offensive line and Harbs or does that make to much sense ? Never take points off of the board, never underestimate a team and adjust when things are not working.

Flacco does fine and does exceptional when he has the time to wait for plays to develop.

  15. Kind of at a loss here friends. I love the picks we have made but am at a loss as to why we did not grab a corner or receiver. We are sure Jimmy S will not be off the field again or look lost on every double move he gets. Not to mention Breshard, who knows what he is going to do. Don't get me wrong, i love nothing more then our TE's going across the middle to move the chains but sooner or later we need to be able to go deep and to get off the field on 3rd downs on defense.

  16. Oz and company have never been offensive minded and could not pick out offensive talent to save their lives. They have never even came close when choosing receivers. That is a given fact but we all gave come to rely on the strong defense but Oz has struck out there as well the last few years. We are on the same level as the Browns when it comes to picking talent or lower. They have chosen and developed a few nice offensive weapons where we have not. I think it is time for a change and it starts with letting Oz go.

  17. Now that is a leader. He knows what needs to be done to get close to being competitive and knows it will cost us and right now money is a HUGE issue. If he wants more targets and more time to hit those targets he needs to allow us to attract the upper tier linemen and receivers. Or go the other way and stop teams from scoring and throw a butt load into the defense. In either case he is willing to restructure and help. So he and Webb in my book showed their commitment to the team and i am so very thankful to them.

    Go Ravens !!

  18. After the last 2 weeks of play-offs i have to say that everyone was right with Flacco. I think me for one had put expectations up that were not only unrealistic but was making comparisons that were wrong from the get go. Manning, Rogers etc played awful over the last 2 weeks and showed me that Joe really is playing just as good as any other quarterback in the league.

The only difference is the system which they play in and poor Joe has had to change systems way to frequently and that just shows how flexible and talented he really is. My apologies to Joe and all of you who i may have offended by making unreal and untrue statements or judgements.
