  1. Shaq Lawson has been described as an edge setter due to avg pass rush ability and his nfl comp on nfl.com is Courtney Upshaw... sorry, but helllll noooooooo! Upshaw was a solid player but we don't need another him we need an upgrade, someone who with more pass rush ability. So I said all that to say if we trade down I hope he's not our option.

You don't know what you are talking about. Lawson is not an average pass rusher . . . wow. Who are you listening to?

  2. The middle rounds are what separates the good teams from the bad ones. If you routinely get productive players in those rounds you generally have a good team that you can afford to hang onto for quite some time. The Ravens have also seen quite a number of these players move on for bloated contracts and not live up to the hype on their new teams. This tells me that the Ravens coaches know how to get the most out of these guys and know who fits their system.

Conversely if you strike out on these picks it isn't as devastating to your team as if your first and second round guys bust. You are COUNTING on those guys to be major contributors. Having busts like Kindle, Cody, Arthur Brown, Matt Elam (so far), really set this organization back.

I'm excited to see what the Ravens can do. If the guy they want isn't there at six I want to see them trade down rather than reach for a guy. The more I think about it the more I think Staley at #6 is a reach.

    I think you are right.

I appreciate the comments some made about Lawson. he video I linked is impressive. He would be a great trade back choice for sure . .saying getting him at 10-15 and securing another round pic to boot.

Of course he looks impressive in a highlight reel.  The problem with evaluating a player based on highlights reels,  is that they make everyone look like a superstar.

I've watched him every game, for 2 years. Each game is the same thing. I posted the video for those of you that don't know him.

  4. I am also not yet ready to call 2015 a bust. 1. Perriman could still prove to be a super star... We just don't know yet. 2. Maxx Wlliams.... could also become a pro bowl TE 3. Carl Davis showed signs of being the steal of the draft for us and is only going to get better. 4. ZSmith.... showed that he can produce and when he was played... he did (matching McPhees rookie production in a lot less time) Z could be a steal still... 5. Buck Allen... showed that he can at least be a quality back up... if not develop into a lead back. 6. Tray Walker's tragedy has been well documented 7. Boyle... looked to be better then Maxx at times... but needs to get his head right... (Not sure what to expect with Boyle moving forward).... 8. Robert Myers was a bust but 9. Darren Waller could be another gem... (especially if the move to TE pans out)>... with all that... 2015 and 2014 still have potential to be not just good but great draft classes. Careful with the Ozzie bashing... it may be way too early for that!

Don't hold your breath on Perriman.

  5. Buckner is an option I wouldnt be mad at..
But there are more dynamic players and fits for Ravens.
Ramsey,Bosa,Jack..the 3 big names.. but dont rule out Shaq Lawson of Clemson.. Ive seen him linked to Ravens, A Terrell Suggs semi Clone, beast pass rusher, but equally great run defender. Or arguably best pass rusher in draft..Noah Spence

I agree about Lawson. Playing top tier teams this past year, his numbers were fantastic.

The Browns might think they have their QB in RG3. That would leave the Ravens as a prime trade candidate. Where the first Qb could be taken off the board. Teams, including the Eagles, risk everything for a franchise Qb. A trade in front of the 49ers would guarantee;  Wentz, Goff or Lynch...they get their pick.

I doubt they think that, given the contract they gave him. They gave him a textbook "stopgap, lets see what you still got" type contract.

Teams no longer risk everything for franchise QBs... those days are over. Plus, it implies that this draft class even has a franchise QB available. By a lot of accounts, there isn't one.

I think fans greatly undervalue the cost of trading up to that spot, and I think fans are pretending like big trades like that happen all the time.

No one wins without a top QB. Ask the Jets.

HUh, I thought we won a super Bowl in 2000? no?

OMG, That's terrible, What in the world was he riding a motorcycle for, isn't it stipulated in his contract to not ride any motor vehicles that would endanger his career, I know that accidents happened but this could have been avoidable, I'm hoping the Lord Jesus is protecting him, his career could just be over. I sail a boat in International waters so I'm aware of the dangers, I'm retired now but while I was working I didn't want to chance an accident that would hurt me, my family and friends, I'm praying for your recovery Tray

That would include a car! More people are injured/die in car accidents annually than motorcycle accidents.

Some teams enforce that and some don't.

Riding a dirt bike on the street. It is what the inner city kids do. It's stupidity.

My prayers go out to you Tray for a full recovery. Next time, wear a helmet, brighter clothing and when at night, a bike with lights. C'mon man, you are smarter than this!

I have not been able to find out through all of the internet articles yet whether Tray was wearing a helmet or not. I really hope Tray at least had a helmet on.

Florida does not have a helmet law; I find riders who are not bound by law to wear a helmet typically do not...

dirt bike, not a legal motorcycle.

  9. Where have you guys been? Here's a quote from Mike himself. if he says it, you KNOW it is much much worse.
"I've got to take some things from Miami that I don't think I did as well and just try to bring it here and be a better person and a better player. Just lead more," Wallace said.

    next isn't a quote:
Initial reports said Wallace was benched with an “attitude problem,” but team sources told NFL.com’s Jeff Darlington that Wallace decided himself that he didn’t want to play after tight end Charles Clay scored on a 23-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Tannehill with 43 seconds left in the first half.

    and another:
Wallace refused to talk to the media after the game and stormed out of the locker room saying only “I don’t feel like talking”. When pressed for more he told a reporter to “Ask coach”.

This is what you want for a new Raven?

Please DO NOT sign Mike Wallace. The Steelers let him walk because he had more love for money vs. football, essentially (reading through the lines a bit). Same thing happened with the Vikings. Why would anyone expect that to suddenly change. Habits are habits and until he comes back to reality there is little upside if any to signing him. That cap room can be better spent reaching long term deals with Tucker and/or B.Williams. Or even wait until teams start making cuts. The idea of getting Wallace at the right price certainly implies that they would look at him, if he was still available closer/after camp. Basically let reality sink, performance dictates pay, not self-worth. IMHO I would pass, pass, pass, just not to Wallace as a Raven.

I disagree, Wallace went for the payday in Miami with a weak QB. Then he went to Vikings with another weak armed QB. Bad places for him. Ravens atmosphere, Flacco deep ball and him being able to stick it to the Steelers twice a year would be enough for Wallace to bounce back. I say sign if the money is right.

    He's not a "Raven".

  11. He's decent, he played decent. if we get better, he's a good sub. I'm sure we didn't over pay. I want us to get a CB in the first round. Let's get Alexander. He's a play maker. If you want someone that could be a star, I believe he will be available , even if we trade back a few. he's a first rounder, but not going to be the first CB taken. If we could trade back, get Alexander and get another player too, win win.
