The ravens can't afford to trade back. We're picking at number six for a reason. We need the type of talent you can only find in the top six spots of the draft.
Didn't Biscotti say that Decosta has taken over the draft the past few seasons in the season end review?Maybe that's part of the reason why we've had drafts like the 2013 one.On the other hand though,I do think that some of the defensive players we've drafted lately would've turned out better if we had a better DC.If we would've drafted Tyrann Mathieu and the Cardinals drafted Elam,Elam would be a stud right now and Mathieu would look like Elam. Also,CJ Mosley would be playing like Luke Kuechly if we had a better DC.Rex made his guys look like superstars.Mattison took the same group Rex had and had them looking weak.Pagano took the same group Mattison had and turned into a shut down defense the next year.Peas took the same group Pagano had and it's never been the same since. If we can find the next Rex/Pagano our talent will play better. It's not all about the talent that's been drafted and signed.WE HAVE THE TALENT.Peas is just making everyone Ozzie and Decosta bring in look like the wrong move.
Drafting Treadwell will have us set for the future.Steve Smith WILL retire next year and it's smarter to use this opportunity we have now to draft his replacement. You probably won't be able to find another receiver like Treadwell when we go back to drafting late in the draft and assuming a team allows a receiver like that to enter free agency,we wouldn't have the cap space to sign them anyway. The only way Treadwell won't be the smartest move is if somehow Ramsey is there at six or if by the grace of Jehovah Bosa falls to atleast four and we have a chance to trade up and draft him.
I don't see any comments or a section to write a comment on the front page articles. Is this because we can no longer comment on articles or is it because we have to wait for that feature to kick in?
yeah man.
if there is 1 guy who plays like a raven its him.
i rather had we traded for him then boldin back then tbh but he i knew it was a pipe dream.
i feel bad he had to play most of his career with crappy QBs.....
There were strong rumors that we wanted/was going to trade for him back in 2011 when Torrey looked bad in the preseason but we traded for Lee Evans instead. Can you imagine if we had Smitty,Boldin and Torrey in 2011 and 2012?I don't think Torrey would've been as productive or maybe even evolved into the player he is today, but it's something that's been on my mind since Lee Evans dropped that ball.
You need to be strong on both sides of the ball to get you this far.Carolina may not have been ranked in the top ten in offense, but Newton,Olsen and Stewart are just as big of a reason why they won so many games this year as the defense is.Denver is the only offense that you could say is weak offensively because of their QB situation. When you look at every other position on their offense though, they're stacked!A strong passing game is more important than defense in my opinion. It's not a coincidence that 3 of the 4 QB's left standing are the three players being considered for MVP.
We should let him walk in free agency.I'm hoping the team is high on Treadwell and that he falls to the 6th pick and we draft him.If that happens,we'll have Smitty,Treadwell,Aiken and Perriman at the top 4 spots and I don't think he'd be willing to fight for a 5th spot with Brown,Camp,Butler and Kaelin Clay.Plus, even if we don't add Treadwell,we're more than likely going to add someone and probably would rather go to a team that he has a better chance of seeing the field with.I think that's why he wanted to leave the Rams anyway.
If we waste a number 6 overall pick on a tackle when we already have a starter who is competent on the field and is accounting for $7 million a year and we have glaring holes elsewhere,I'm going to canon ball dive onto the "our front office is incompetent in the draft" bandwagon. That would be a HUUGGGEEE waste of resources.
Kelce plays for the Cheifs.
Oh,for some reason I was thinking about Zach Ertz when I wrote that.I don't think Kelce is as good as Ertz, but the same feeling applies to Kelce to a lesser degree.Ertz is a beast that's why that stuck out to me so much.
Deforest Buckner is huge, played in a 3-4, and has a great motor. dude plays really hard and fits our scheme. would love to get him, especially if bosa is gone.
Buckner has some pretty stats and measurables, but he doesn't look like a top 5 or 6 pick to me.
If only we would've sucked for Bosa.
Crockett's spot doesn't surprise me one bit.Having Williams and Boyle over some of the other bigger names is a red flag to me though no matter how well they blocked.I didn't watch many Philly games last year, but Kelce's blocking would have to be god awful for me to place him 9 spots behind Boyle.
Laquan Treadwell is by far and away the best option since Ramsey will be gone. Also,we're only a few days into the off season and I'm already getting tired of this stupid tackle speculation.Monroe and Wagner are our guys.Deal with it!!
Leon Hall,Andre Smith,Reggie Nelson,Vincent Rey,Adam Jones,Mohamed Sanu,Marvin Jones and George IIoka are all key players/starters for the Bengals who are going to be UFA's.They may be able to keep some of them but there's no way they are going to be able to keep all or even the majority of them. This was the Bengals big year. They'll be competitive going forward but I don't see them being a top contender moving forward. They're about to have some holes on both sides of the ball.
Now that Ramsey won't be on the board when we pick,Laquan Treadwell will more than likely be the BPA left on the board as long as Dallas doesn't take him.Hargreaves got exposed late in the year and isn't a sure thing,we have tackles so there's no need to draft one of those and it wouldn't make sense to draft a DT when we have BW and one of the best run stuffing front sevens in a league that barely runs anymore.Treadwell is easily the smartest and safest pick on the board.Unless we pick up a good WR in FA,I'm going to be EXTREMELY PO'ed if he's still on the board and we pass over him.Treadwell,Perriman,Gilmore and Williams would make a great offense. The TE's could make plays over the middle,Perriman could take the top off and Treadwell can make the tough catches. He's like a Dez Bryant or Boldin. He's open even when he's covered. He could grow into the possession role Boldin held down for us and play right into one of Joe's strengths(being aggressive and throwing up risky 50/50 passes in a spot where only his guy can get it).
Looking more and more like we'll take VH3 or Ramsey if one of them makes it to us
Ramsey won't make it past Dallas or Jacksonville and I don't think Hargreaves is that great of a player,so I hope we don't take him. We'd be better off picking up a legit starting corner(not another guy like Arrington) in FA after we cut a few players and re work Flacco's contract and then draft Treadwell.Hargreaves has the potential to be a bust in my opinion.Treadwell on the other hand looks like the next Dez Bryant.
Webb an Hill are going to challenge Thomas and Chancellor as best saftey tandom in the league.
This is a good way to kick off the 2016 off season!Hearing Webb will be our new FS is great news.I think he's going to dominate the position.
Eugene will be our left tackle.IMO,it would be a huge shock if we cut him.
Comp pick trades aren't allowed until 2017 draft.
Can I get a link to where you got that from?Every article I've read say's it starts in 2016.
Laquan Treadwell please!!!!!
I was happy when we won,but now that I've slept on it I have one thing on my mind.I can't believe we just missed out on Jalen Ramsey!!!
Jimmy Clausen played admirably in his time at starter. It was a visible difference in the level of Quarterback play between him and Mallett though.Mallett looked like a real Quarterback out there. With that said,if you think he looked as good as Joe out there then you're just being crazy.
I'm against wins this year, but it felt good seeing the Ravens sweep the Steelers and possibly crush their playoff hopes with 6 of our offensive starters on I.R.,our 4th string QB starting for us and our best player on D on I.R.The Steelers suck!!!If we had even just close to our full roster this probably would've been a blowout.

Good point! The reason I'm not thinking that way though is because barring a trade,we pretty much know who the top 4 picks will be and I know who I'd like for us to draft with the sixth pick. For some reason, alot of people have us taking a Tackle, but I'm all but certain that Laquan Treadwell will be there for us at six and in my opinion it's a no brainer pick.So you're absolutely right that the teams draft board could be different than mine, but I'm judging based off my own opinion of the top ten players and how I view the team and the way it's built at the moment.
