I was half way ok when it was Claiborne but this is just annoying.Brandon Carr is not a good player.Brandon Marshall wouldve given us WAY more bang for our buck with that 5 mill a year.Marshall,Wallace,Perriman and Pitta wouldve won alot more games for us than Jimmy Smith,Carr,Weddle and Jefferson will.We had the 17th ranked offense in yards per game and 21st ranked offense in scoring WITH Wagner and Smitty. Why is the front office piling all of our resources into one side of the ball????
4 minutes ago, kjbmore said:Our defense held up reasonably well, our offense just couldn't sustain drives or get into the red zone
we havent done anything to change that other than the addition of woodhead
im just being a realist, our offense struggled last season and so far it's a year older with a few less pieces
im concerned
Your just looking at our team through non purple lenses.
This is exactly what I've been worrying about.Alot of ravens fans keep saying cornback is our biggest need,I see alot of fans say pass rusher is our biggest need and the front office let two of our best o lineman walk in consecutive years.I'm starting to wonder if any one in Baltimore remembers that theres two sides to the ball. Our offense was the weakest part of our team last year and our offensive line was the weakest group of the team.Yet we still let one of the best players on the group walk in favor of the defense. The line,rb crew,te crew and wr crew all look anemic at the moment.Unless the defense looks like seattles or denvers from a few years ago and can carry the team or we have a few unexpected breakout stars on offense,I'm not expecting a playoff berth.
The Ravens have lost alot of games this year and as a die hard fan I've taken all of them on the chin without excuses, but yesterday was different.Yesterday was the first time of all the losses I felt like the refs were actively influencing the game.It kindve felt like the Ravens were supposed to lose with the amount of iffy calls and non calls that went against us.And to be clear again,I'm not even the type of football fan that even cries refs after games.

We won the head to head so the steelers actually are one and a half games behind us.
If I wasn't a ravens fan I'd probably be thinking it wasn't really a catch but I'm glad for him that it was.He needs to work on those hands though. He's had some ugly drops. He dropped a wide open one last night and that almost wasn't a TD.If he can find his way in the second half of this season, that would be the breakthrough this offense needs to get over this slump....Well that along with our o line staying healthy.
Obviously his knee brace got caught in the turf...oh no what if his knee brace getting caught in the turf reinjured his surgically repaired knee...Mallet better not come in here and outperform Flacco in this offense...I wonder what type of draft position we'll get if this is it for his season...Steve Smith can't go out with another season like this...Also Weedle deserves to atleast see the playoffs too...I wonder if Weedle is regretting picking Baltimore over Oakland now...NO NO NO I can't sit through another year of tanking.......OH GOOD GOD HE'S RUNNING BACK OUT ONTO THE FIELD!!!!!
I actually agree with pff for once(I usually hate their opinions),Webb hasn't been great but he hasn't been horrid either. So far he's been just good enough at safety.
The thread title should be changed to "When will Breshad Perriman step up".His dropped deep ball and mis step on the non game winning touchdown lost us that game and is the reason a coach got fired. It was impressive that he got behind the DB on that deep play and managed to create separation and be in position to make that catch vs one of/if not the best CB in the league on the non TD,but I'm tired having to look on the bright side at the potential of guys.Outside of 2010,12 and 14 we always seem to go into the season with guys who have potential at WR.It gets nauseating after a while.Especially when we have to look at how pit finds recievers effortlessly in the mid rounds.Their 4th or 5th round guy is outplaying the guy we drafted in the first round of the same draft.?
I think the front office should start considering a trade for Leary. Before he got benched he was a quality guard and he has a reasonable cap number.

How is it that Carr doesn't get hit? Cause they are chipping our edge rushers! Why is it that JOE gets clobbered? Because we aren't helping our tackles (especially Hurst against Mack -- did anyone think that Hurst was going to win that battle?)
Just make it a point to chip block every stinking play! Tick off their edge rushers! Give Joe a pocket -- and an extra second and watch our offense take off!
It's the same thing every stinking week! JUST CHIP BLOCK every play PLEASE!
Mr. Trestman -- PLEASE for the love of B'More fans everywhere -- CHIP BLOCK every play PLEASE!
I haven't rewatched that game again(mainly because I'm no rush to rewatch that infuriating loss),but I think Mack was chipped on the sack that he beat Wagner on.It didn't slow him down much.If it wasn't on that play then it was on one of the plays where Joe was hit or sack.
This is a post June 1st cut right? If so it saves us 3 million next season.
PFF ratings and ESPNs QBR Ratings are both garbage to me.They seem to be based more off of emotion and personal opinion than the actual results on the field. The only QB measurement I care about is the NFL's passer rating. Its perfect.Any rating you can't calculate for yourself should be taken with a grain of salt.

That is true of last year, but not "the last several years".
This has been going on since 2013.I don't trust our defense at all in two minute situationsLast Sundays game is 50/50 with the offense and defense sharing blame though because the offense still had a shot and only needed to pick up 8 yards more to put Tucker in field goal range but they couldn't do it.

They suck against contenders, but they still match up good enough against us to give us problems. We won't be able to stop Aj Green and Eifert this year,we definitely won't be running the ball against that front and I don't see this WR corps beating Pacman and Kirkpatrick.

Alot of people were asking for him to replace Zuttah.IMO,he wouldnt do any better at center than he does at gaurd.
I hope this game dismantled the mini cult of fans who had a love fest for Jensen going on.
I no longer have faith in this team as a SB contender. We have way too many holes. The messed up part is we're too good to get a high draft pick again like last season but bad enough to know we can't hang with the Patriots,Broncos,Bengals and.......Steelers(almost threw up a little bit admitting that). We have got to get better at drafting skill positions. This isn't the 80s/90s.You wont get far in this league if your db's cant cover in your two minute defense, your RB's can't make anyone miss and your WR's can't beat man coverage.I'm givingthe Oline a pass considering we have two rookies on the line and before today the pass protection was actually decent.

We couldve picked up atleast five yards on that first down drop he he on the last series of that last drive.
If we could get a run game going I'd fear not one team in this league. The Oline needs to hurry up and start playing better.I hope Trestman and Harbaugh can hurry up and find an answer.

Crabtree is fast. Coleman is fast. Watkins is fast. Jimmy is fast. None of them are sudden.
Wright isnt that fast, but he can change direction and break very quickly. Amari isnt fast like those other guys. But he can change direction, shift his weight and get up to his speed.
Coleman not sudden?Colemans quickness and shiftiness is what makes him special. It's one of the biggest reasons he was drafted in the first round even though people questioned the level of competition he was going up against.

I didn't notice that Lewis left the game.No wonder our pass protection fell off in the fourth quarter.

We don't match up well with the Oakland Raiders and even if we had doom ( who is at the end of his career ) it wouldn't matter. Derek Carr and his entourage of weapons are the #2 offense in the NFL and are way to much for us to handle and with us having the 25th rated running game in the NFL it will be easy for them to T-off on Flacco.
Tho the game will be slightly close in the first half but the Raiders win this game handily 31-17 .
Replace Carr with Bortles and Oakland with Jax and this would look like a post straight out of last weeks next up thread.Every team has more weapons than we can handle,a defense filled with too much talent and a QB who should be able to light us up according alot of people on this forum lol.Not trying to be a smart a**,but be ready to rinse and repeat this post again when Cousins and his weapons come to town and the week after when we play Eli and his weapons and the week after when we go play the Jets.
If the Oline and run game can't get going this game at home vs this defense, then it's officially time to get scared.Hopefully Dixon is prepared to go for this game because as much as it pains me to say it,the time has come to bench Forsett.I want to see what West can do as a lead back with either Allen or Dixon as a back up now.Forsett just doesn't have a burst anymore and he's not doing well in this scheme behind this line.I believe the two back rotation is hurting us.Give the ball to West 20 or so times and see what he can do.Maybe with enough carries he can break some more long runs like he did at the end of the first two games and at the start of the third quarter yesterday.

This ravens fan is definitely on the John Ross at pick 16 bandwagon which unfortunately means it wont be happening.I would be on the Corey Davis bandwagon but I dont think he'll make it out of the top 10.
