I hope he shuts down Sanders for us week one like patriots fans say he did for them.
It looks like who ever was guarding Sanders did a terrible job but if he was one of the guys that held TY to 3 catches for 24 yards and 1 catch for 36 then I hope he does some of that for us.
Ravens barley win against the Pats and history shows it. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/game_query.cgi?tm1=nwe&tm2=rav&yr=all
We may not have a good record against them historically but we've won 3 of the 7 games that Harbaugh and Flacco have been here for.
Did anyone else read some of the comments on that rookie WR article on the NFL.com link?Apparently dolphins fans think Ryan Tannehill is a better QB than Joe Flacco. One dolphin fan said Tannehill was smarter, more accurate,COULD THROW MORE ROUTES and that Flacco couldn't run/scramble.GOOD LORD!Where did this perception that Flacco is an immobile/noncerebral QB come from and how many big runs must he for and defenses must he pick apart for it to go away?I kind of get the reason why people think he's inaccurate though.Alot of foolish people actually think completion percentage is a good way to judge a QB's accuracy. It's not! Some things can't be judged by stats. The only way to get a good idea of how accurate a QB is is by using your eyeballs and watching his ball placement.
I wouldn't go that far but he is no doubt spectacular, sugar ray robinson is one fighter that is pretty tough to top and there's been some great heavyweights back in the day. The day I knew mayweather would never be troubled by pacquiao was pacman vs marquez 3 which I felt pac was outboxed pretty cleanly by marquez yet got an unjust decision.
Sugar Ray was before my time(he died a couple years before I was born) and I haven't seen any of his fights replayed on tv so I can't speak on him.I'm only comparing Floyd to other boxers skill wise.I know that a heavyweight would take his head off lol.Skill wise the only guy I can really think of that I've seen do some of the things Floyd do is Ali.I don't think it's a reach to go that far. He's 48-0,has never officially been knocked down and beats almost everyone effortlessly. What else does the guy have to do to reach that mythical status???
I think it's time for people to start putting Floyd up there with legends like Ali.This was the fight everyone pointed to whenever someone brings up Floyd's record and his dominance and Floyd went out there and made that animal look average.I'm a huge Mayweather fan and I was a little bit afraid that he wouldn't be able to do his usual ducking and dodging because of Pacs hand speed and aggressiveness.Last night he did what he does to every opponent and he made it look easy.I've seen every Pac fight dating back to 07 or 08 and nobody in that time frame dominated him statistically the way Floyd did.He just might be the greatest boxer to ever live.
Watching Javorius Allen behind this O-line could be fun.Hopefully our line can continue to open up some of the holes they opened up last year and Forsett can teach him to have patience.I didn't watch him in college but from the highlight video I just saw Allen is a PROBLEM in open space. If we can manage to work some screens and dump offs into our offense I could see him averaging ten yards a pop.I can't wait to see him 1 on 1 vs an NFL DB in open space.
This guy is nothing like Torrey other than the fact that they're both fast and have dreads(or had dreads in Torreys case). He's noticeably bigger than Torrey, his movements are alot more smoother and he stops and restarts alot better.Only time will tell if he can be a playmaker in the NFL like Torrey, but I could definitely see him becoming a better route runner than him.
I really believe Demayrius Thomas coming out of College is a more accurate comparison to Perriman than Torrey. I see much more similarities between them.
I've been thinking the same thing.Except UCF didn't use Breshad on screens like Georgia Tech did with Thomas so I don't really know what he can do with screens.
I'd really like Bennett here, but if he wants a new deal paying him top-5 TE money, that's going to be hard to swallow for us. That would mean a ton of money invested into the TE position, which would likely mean parting ways with Pitta very soon. There's no way you can keep both players that much money.
The patriots were willing to give big money to both Gronk and Hernandez so I wouldn't say there's noway it can happen.
Still doesn't change the fact that he looking for more money and it's not like The Bears are hurting for cap space either.. I think if The Ravens decide to trade for a tight end it probably be during the later portion of the draft or after the draft.
I saw the headline and didn't read the entire article on nfl.com first so I originally thought they were trading him because he's a headache. But even if he does want a new contract I'd still like Ozzie to trade for him. From what I heard and read he's not asking for more money. He just wants an extension on the two years he has left.
What it really depends on is the contract the team is going to have to give him before the trade is even finalized. That's the entire reason why Chicago is selling in the first place.
He's only a $4 million cap hit this year and a $6 million cap hit for next year if we trade for him.We can handle that and he's WELL worth that price.
We need to make an offer. This trade could save our offense this season. They acknowledged that the team needs help at TE and this opportunity is golden.
Denver is not going to be the team they used to be. And what the hell makes you think we won't beat Pittsburgh? I don't like your attitude
It's a divisional road game on a short week just 4 days after playing the bengals(who are another tough divisional opponent). It's also Bell's first game back, our 3rd road game in our first 4 games and on top of all of that we usually lose in pittsburgh anyway. It's not really an attitude it's just me looking at it with my bias put to the side. Also we don't have the offense to keep up with denver.Thats a game we might have to put up 30 to win and as our team stands right now I don't think we can do that on the road.Especially not at the pace that denver can score.
Too pessimistic even for me lol.
That first four game stretch stole my little bit of optimism.Denver and Pittsburgh are both losses IMO.That Cin game could be a loss too.The last four games also look tough.
I'm foreseeing a mid teens 2016 first round draft pick.
I haven't been paying much attention to the NFL lately so I'm probably late, but undervaluing Housler like that was a bad move. Our offensive skill positions are looking bad right now. This doesn't look like a playoff caliber offense to me.I hope Ozzie and company have a plan for a trade or see something in the draft that I'm not seeing.Maybe we're waiting for Gresham to get desperate so we can snatch him up for cheap. He'd be a steal if we could sign him to a 1 year $2 million deal like Housler and he's able to bounce back to form by mid season.
I voted for keeping Osemele, but I'd like us to keep both. However,if John Urshel plays guard this year while Wagner is out and plays just as good or better than he did last year, then we should let Yanda walk if he refuses to extend his contract at a fair and manageable cap price. It's smarter to move on with younger talent than to keep letting 30 year old vets hold us cap hostage every year.
We have plenty of guys who can be good SS's on our roster.I don't think Pollard's skill set would add anything to our defense.
Hopefully this helps our 2nd and 3rd string WR's develop.I imagine it must've been hard for them to get anything out of training camp and practices over the past few years when all Tyrod could/would do is tuck the ball and run.
The Ravens just restructured Lardarius Webb's contract per a league source according to Aaron Wilson!! No details out yet, but I will update it when they come out.
Hopefully they're clearing space for Crabtree and Housler.
Dislike.
Agreed!I'd rather see us take a chance on Ryan Matthews and his injuries,an old DeAngelo Williams or Moreno coming off his leg inury than add Pierre Thomas.
Something that's been eating away at me since Torrey's new contract details came out is the fact that he essentially left Baltimore for less money. When you subtract fed tax and Maryland state tax from the guaranteed $19 million we gave him it comes out to $13.3 give or take an additional $237500-$608000 depending on which county you live in.When you subtract fed tax and California state tax from the guaranteed $22 million SF gave him you get $11.6 million give or take an additional $220k-$2.2 million depending on what district you live in.So that means he definitely left guaranteed money on the table to go play with the niners. If you can't call his decision to leave a business decision then whats the real reason he left?Any bonuses or additional money he's getting in his contract can't be that much better than what he would've gotten with us because of that huge tax difference. It just doesn't make sense.
He played with confidence from his first snap.He hasn't been abused like the rest of the secondary so he doesn't have that stench that Webb and the rest of the guys do.
Yanda blatantly pushed Rice in the playoff game in Denver. It was on a play in double overtime that got us a first down and made the Tucker kick that much easier.I can't really complain about an ignored rule that helped us win a lombardi.

You're about to be playing in front of the best pass rush you've ever played with before,Kyle. We don't need you to shut down guys for 5-10 secs.Just don't get beat immediately like the guys from last year and give Sizzle and Doom enough time to do their thing.
