  1. This is where Ozzie does the evil laugh. Ozzie with a top 5 pick and being able to trade compensatory picks? Now we really get to witness the mastermind work. Time to put all the nonsense about him falling off to rest. This draft is going to be big guys and will change the course of this franchise over the next decade.

You're right. This draft is going to play a pivotal role in whether or not we win 1 or 2 more superbowls with Flacco before he retires.

  2. I hope we use this new rule change to trade up into the mid 20's with a comp pick or two and the high second rounder we're sure to have.We need the best of the best talent in this draft to start making runs at more superbowls before Flacco gets too old.I'm also hoping we don't trade that top five pick unless it's for atleast a decent first this year and another first next year.

  3. I wasn't a Maxx Williams fan before the draft.I just didn't see the athletic TE he was being touted as and I'm still waiting to see it.I won't go as far as to disrespect him and call him Fatt Maxx, but he really needs to drop a few pounds and work on his speed in the off season.

  4. I hope Crockett gets more targets in this game.I fell asleep in the 3rd Quarter, but from what I saw it felt like he wasn't even the 3rd progression for Joe in last weeks game. He's the second best playmaker we have in the passing game and we need to find ways to get him involved early and not just in the redzone of 2 minute drives. That's vital for this offense and for his progression as a young player.

  5. Suggs is going to light up QBs?? He will be 35 yrs old. And Coming off a knee injury. As for Webb it is a shame he got injured. However he was signed hastily after one great year. They could have waited to sign him

Suggs will be 34,he didn't hurt his knee,he tore his achilles and I didn't say he would light anything up.I think Suggs will still have enough in the tank to add something to our pass rush.He showed no signs of slowing down before his injury. And I agree with you on the Webb signing.I was excited when we signed him but gasped when I saw the numbers.I think he was paid so much because he didn't just have a good year as a CB in 2011 but was also a pretty good return man.

  6. I say we cut him and Lewis for the $4.4 million in cap space and put those savings toward signing Sean Smith and Eric Weddle.I think a secondary with those two,Jimmy,Hill and Arrington should get us back to atleast being in the teens in pass defense.Especially once Suggs comes back and improves our pass rush.

  7. None of this "Flacco's contract is destroying the team" talk would be going on if we had built the team in the right way. When you have a franchise QB you're supposed to surround him with talent at the skill positions,do just enough on defense and tell the QB  to go get it done every week. This organization and fan base has been so stubborn about letting go of our defensive traditions that we did the exact opposite. We poured all of our resources into defense and told the franchise QB go get it done with table scraps. Now we have an unreliable defense and an unreliable  offense. We got lucky in 2012 when those table scraps were groomed into good players, but that's a stupid way to build a team when you have a top tier QB.Look the way every other team with a 1st or 2nd tier QB is built.None of those teams(NE,GB,ATL,DEN,INDY,SD,DAL,NYG,NO) go all in on defense and sabotage their QB the way we do.Our defense wouldn't have been any worse than it is now so we would've been better off loading up on offense the past few years. If we ditched one or two mega contracts on defense and used it to put an elite WR on the other side of Smith,a couple of these close losses would've been wins.

  8. you missed the point.

you take two guys out of Pittsburgh or Cincinatti, and they're still fine.

we havent drafted ENOUGH play makers...they didnt say zero.

If Bell/Hill was kicked out of the league last September and Brown/Green walked in free agency last March,Pittsburgh and Cincinatti would not be ok right now. We've lost Pitta,Jones,Torrey,Mcphee and Ellerbe in the last 3 off seasons. All of whom were drafted by us and are in their mid 20's.That's the reason we don't have a proven youn nucleus right now.And if you're trying to say that those guys plus the guys we still have like Wagner,Osemele,Williams,Mosley and Gillmore aren't enough drafted playmakers in the last 5 drafts(not including the most recent one because it's too soon to expect much from them)then your expectations are too high. The only way to really top that is to have the success that Seattle had from 2010-2012 and that was some stars aligning themselves perfectly type of stuff. Our drafts from 09-14 have been better than Pittsburghs,Greenbays,New Englands,The Colts(with the exception of 2012) and have kind of been on par with the Bengals. We've gotten about 3 playmakers from the draft per year every year except 2009.That's a very high success rate.

  9. I don't want the #1 pick. I would HATE for us to have the #1 pick. I want us to win every game we possibly can. I want us to go 11-5 and make the playoffs. Barring that, I'd be happy with 10-6, or 9-7. I'd even be OK with 8-8. I'd be disappointed with 7-9, but I'd sure take that before I'd take 6-10, and I'd rather win 6 games than 5, or 4, or 3, or 2, or 1. I'd rather win 3 games than 2 even if it meant dropping a few draft positions. I just want wins. As many as possible.

So you'd rather us go 6-10 and miss both the playoffs and the opportunity to draft the best player in the draft just so we can have a few cheap wins this year? It's time for us to start practicing delayed gratification. The NFL is a war and if we have to sacrifice a few battles to win the war at the end of another season than so be it.

  10. That's the problem we don't have those 3 or 4 impact players from the draft. Jimmy Smith is the only one left from the 2011draft. It continues on with 2012, 2013 drafts also. Really Matt Elam as our #1, #2 Arthur Brown. See how they have helped us here in 2015? Please!

Outside of Osemele, the 2012 draft was ugly, but why are you only looking at the top two picks from 2013?We have a starting RT who played outstanding last year and is playing well now considering the injury he suffered late last year and the surgery he had in the offseason and we also have a stud DT tearing it up against the run. Both of those guys came from that draft. We also found Juice in that draft.

  11. "[W]here’s the youth, with Smith planning to retire, and Forsett already 30 years old? " - Clifton Brown

One guy got himself kicked out of the league and the other is in SF because we decided not to pay him.Anyone who questions Ozzie's draft record in the last five years is an idiot.I may not agree with him on draft day because he always drafts defensive players with the top picks, but we usually walk away from the draft with three or four guys who are impact players. Our biggest problem has been us not holding onto guys in FA and injuries halting the promising careers of Pitta and Webb.

  12. unless we could get him for the bare minumum, i wouldnt even want to think about it.  He WILL mess up again

I wouldn't want to invest too much in him either. It's sad that he has to get into so many stupid incidents. He's only 26 years old and just 2 years ago was looked at as a top 5 pass rusher in the league. Now we're saying he's not worth more than the minimum. If I were Ozzie/Harbaugh,I'd almost be willing to go as high 1 year/$2M just to see if we could bring back 2011/2012 Aldon. That would be monstrous with Suggs,Doom,Jernigan and maybe Bosa(I think we're that bad and I'm rooting for that top pick).
