  1. "Baltimore wants to ramp up its defense, but Joe Flacco is now the defining characteristic of the Ravens" Which is exactly why I'll keep advocating that they draft Treadwell unless I find a reason to believe he's not as good as I think he is now.
  2. Drafting a LT when we have Monroe would not be a wise choice.A wise choice would be drafting Treadwell since Steve Smith is retiring next year and we have no idea what we have in Perriman. And even if Perriman does work out we will still need someone on the other side of him.You don't use such a precious draft pick on the off chance that you might want to cut a player a year later when you have another player that you know will be gone for sure.
  3. How did this get upvotes or hearts or whatever we're calling them now?Our pass rush isn't the reason we had those two 14 point leads. It's part of the reason we lost those 14 point leads. When you look at the numbers Ben and Brady put up against us in 2014 it really did get us no where against them.I'm not brushing off the importance of a good pass rush, but without good pass coverage the best pass rushes are useless against the better QB's in the league. You basically proved the point I was making with all the talk about Webb,Melvin and Jimmy. An elite secondary > an elite pass rush.Just look at what Seattle has been doing for the past few years.Instead of a thread about Denvers elite pass rush,we should have a thread about their elite secondary.Their pass rush is not better than what we brought with McPhee,Ngata,Timmy,Suggs and Doom. The difference between Denver and us is their pass coverage and playcalling as I said in my original post.
  4. I don't know if this has been said already, but we had an elite pass rush in 2014 and it got us no where.Denver's play calling, secondary and speed at ILB is what separates them from us.
  5. If we drafted Stanley,he wouldn't play for the next 2-3 years. The large majority of his rookie contract would be spent with him filling in sparingly if/when Monroe gets injured and with us wondering he if could play guard if we lose KO and fail to replace him.
  6. Hopefully Suggs returning and moving Webb to safety fixes our defense.I'm tired of hearing about other teams playing games. It feels like it's been forever since we've had a meaningful football game.I'm ready to see the ravens rag doll the NFC East and AFC East on our way to a bye week and a SB.We need to go atleast 6-2 versus those divisions and at 4-2 in our own.If we're good enough to do that then we could go 12-4 because even though I think the raiders and jaguars will be better,I don't think they'll be good enough to beat the elite teams(which is what we still are at full strength.
  7. I'm reluctantly rooting for the Panthers to stomp the Broncos.Even though I know it would kill Smitty to see the Panthers win it all without him so soon after he left,I hate Elway and Kubiak a little more for what they did to us last off season.
  8. The Ravens drafting a LT with Eugene Monroe already under contract and performing well is way more unlikely than them drafting a WR in consecutive years. The front office already stated in the presser that they were pleased with the way Eugene Monroe played when he was on the field. If Ramsey reaches Dalls,we'll probably makes a trade for him.If they ask for too much then we'll probably either draft Treadwell or trade back.
  9. Good point! The reason I'm not thinking that way though is because barring a trade,we pretty much know who the top 4 picks will be and I know who I'd like for us to draft with the sixth pick. For some reason, alot of people have us taking a Tackle, but I'm all but certain that Laquan Treadwell will be there for us at six and in my opinion it's a no brainer pick.So you're absolutely right that the teams draft board could be different than mine, but I'm judging based off my own opinion of the top ten players and how I view the team and the way it's built at the moment.
  10. The ravens can't afford to trade back. We're picking at number six for a reason. We need the type of talent you can only find in the top six spots of the draft.
  11. Didn't Biscotti say that Decosta has taken over the draft the past few seasons in the season end review?Maybe that's part of the reason why we've had drafts like the 2013 one.On the other hand though,I do think that some of the defensive players we've drafted lately would've turned out better if we had a better DC.If we would've drafted Tyrann Mathieu and the Cardinals drafted Elam,Elam would be a stud right now and Mathieu would look like Elam. Also,CJ Mosley would be playing like Luke Kuechly if we had a better DC.Rex made his guys look like superstars.Mattison took the same group Rex had and had them looking weak.Pagano took the same group Mattison had and turned into a shut down defense the next year.Peas took the same group Pagano had and it's never been the same since. If we can find the next Rex/Pagano our talent will play better. It's not all about the talent that's been drafted and signed.WE HAVE THE TALENT.Peas is just making everyone Ozzie and Decosta bring in look like the wrong move.
  12. Drafting Treadwell will have us set for the future.Steve Smith WILL retire next year and it's smarter to use this opportunity we have now to draft his replacement. You probably won't be able to find another receiver like Treadwell when we go back to drafting late in the draft and assuming a team allows a receiver like that to enter free agency,we wouldn't have the cap space to sign them anyway. The only way Treadwell won't be the smartest move is if somehow Ramsey is there at six or if by the grace of Jehovah Bosa falls to atleast four and we have a chance to trade up and draft him.
  13. There were strong rumors that we wanted/was going to trade for him back in 2011 when Torrey looked bad in the preseason but we traded for Lee Evans instead. Can you imagine if we had Smitty,Boldin and Torrey in 2011 and 2012?I don't think Torrey would've been as productive or maybe even evolved into the player he is today, but it's something that's been on my mind since Lee Evans dropped that ball.
  14. How in the hell did that horrible Carolina team fro last season become world beaters this season? They got blown out six different times, lost six straight games and only made the playoffs because of a weak division. What changed?

What does Kanye West have anything to do with how the NFL works, FlackAttack? Would it be better if it was Taylor Swift?

  15. You need to be strong on both sides of the ball to get you this far.Carolina may not have been ranked in the top ten in offense, but Newton,Olsen and Stewart are just as big of a reason why they won so many games this year as the defense is.Denver is the only offense that you could say is weak offensively because of their QB situation. When you look at every other position on their offense though, they're stacked!A strong passing game is more important than defense in my opinion. It's not a coincidence that 3 of the 4 QB's left standing are the three players being considered for MVP.
  16. We should let him walk in free agency.I'm hoping the team is high on Treadwell and that he falls to the 6th pick and we draft him.If that happens,we'll have Smitty,Treadwell,Aiken and Perriman at the top 4 spots and I don't think he'd be willing to fight for a 5th spot with Brown,Camp,Butler and Kaelin Clay.Plus, even if we don't add Treadwell,we're more than likely going to add someone and probably would rather go to a team that he has a better chance of seeing the field with.I think that's why he wanted to leave the Rams anyway.
  17. If we waste a number 6 overall pick on a tackle when we already have a starter who is competent on the field and is accounting for $7 million a year and we have glaring holes elsewhere,I'm going to canon ball dive onto the "our front office is incompetent in the draft" bandwagon. That would be a HUUGGGEEE waste of resources.
  18. Oh,for some reason I was thinking about Zach Ertz when I wrote that.I don't think Kelce is as good as Ertz, but the same feeling applies to Kelce to a lesser degree.Ertz is a beast that's why that stuck out to me so much.
  19. Buckner has some pretty stats and measurables, but he doesn't look like a top 5 or 6 pick to me.
  20. If only we would've sucked for Bosa.
  21. Crockett's spot doesn't surprise me one bit.Having Williams and Boyle over some of the other bigger names is a red flag to me though no matter how well they blocked.I didn't watch many Philly games last year, but Kelce's blocking would have to be god awful for me to place him 9 spots behind Boyle.
  22. I was just watching some game tape on Corey Coleman and I must say,if the Ravens traded back, picked up some good picks and drafted him instead of staying put and drafting Laquon,I wouldn't be THAT upset.I'd be disappointed, but not completely upset.

  23. Laquan Treadwell is by far and away the best option since Ramsey will be gone. Also,we're only a few days into the off season and I'm already getting tired of this stupid tackle speculation.Monroe and Wagner are our guys.Deal with it!!
  24. Leon Hall,Andre Smith,Reggie Nelson,Vincent Rey,Adam Jones,Mohamed Sanu,Marvin Jones and George IIoka are all key players/starters for the Bengals who are going to be UFA's.They may be able to keep some of them but there's no way they are going to be able to keep all or even the majority of them. This was the Bengals big year. They'll be competitive going forward but I don't see them being a top contender moving forward. They're about to have some holes on both sides of the ball.
  25. Now that Ramsey won't be on the board when we pick,Laquan Treadwell will more than likely be the BPA left on the board as long as Dallas doesn't take him.Hargreaves got exposed late in the year and isn't a sure thing,we have tackles so there's no need to draft one of those and it wouldn't make sense to draft a DT when we have BW and one of the best run stuffing front sevens in a league that barely runs anymore.Treadwell is easily the smartest and safest pick on the board.Unless we pick up a good WR in FA,I'm going to be EXTREMELY PO'ed if he's still on the board and we pass over him.Treadwell,Perriman,Gilmore and Williams would make a great offense. The TE's could make plays over the middle,Perriman could take the top off and Treadwell can make the tough catches. He's like a Dez Bryant or Boldin. He's open even when he's covered. He could grow into the possession role Boldin held down for us and play right into one of Joe's strengths(being aggressive and throwing up risky 50/50 passes in a spot where only his guy can get it).
