  1. I don't think Ed ever realized that. He probably would have played at least another year if someone would have signed him.
  2. Well, Derrick Mason did and I would like to believe SSR feels more alive as a Raven than he did as a Panther and I'm sticking to my hope... Derrick Mason played almost as many years here as he did in Tennessee. I think SSS played 14 years in Carolina, compared to 3 here.
  3. He's shown quickness and acceleration that allow him to separate from man coverage and make plays. He's also shown the ability to make catches in traffic and hold on after being hit. In his limited time on the field, he's shown every skill necessary to be a great slot receiver. It's just a matter of whether or not the Ravens want to use a roster spot on a player who hasn't been able to stay on the field.
  4. People criticize the criticism of Cam Newton far more than people actually criticize Cam Newton. It's obvious why. They're trying to create a picture of racial disparity. Many people who claim to fight racism are actually trying(successfully) to create it. It gives them something to preach against and it keeps people interested in their articles and stories.
  5. I basically agree with that. I understand why Kubiak was so conservative, but I don't think he came up with some formula to beat Belichick. Doing what they did only works if your defense is dominating. As far as play calling goes, I think Wade Phillips deserves more credit than Kubiak.
  6. I actually thought the playcalling was predictable and overly conservative. Kubiak seemed content to continuously punt the ball and rely on his defense. He definitely wasn't keeping Brady off the field. He gave him chance after chance to come back. I don't think that's the recipe to beat Belichick. It only works if you have a dominant defense. The lack of aggression kept the Patriots in the game. You can say it's risky to take more shots, but as we've seen in Baltimore, it's also risky to let the other team hang around and let the game come down to one play.
  7. Brady crumbles every year in the playoffs when the teams he plays aren't decimated by injuries. Anyone who can take away his easy passes can destroy him, because he's not good enough to consistently make difficult throws. Calling him the GOAT, or even putting him in that conversation is a complete joke.
  8. The Patriots are 10-0 with Edelman and 3-4 without him. Their offense was looking pretty bad late in the season. Brady is overrated.
  9. We never really know the whole story behind someone's firing, but I thought Oakland gave a great example of how horribly run their franchise is when they fired Hue Jackson. They went 8-8, which is a great season for them. It may have been their only non-losing season in the past decade. Maybe their was something going on behind closed doors, but I don't see why they would fire a coach who took over a losing franchise and had a .500 season. The Bengals offense was good with him calling plays, but he really has his work cut out for him with the Browns.
  10. I don't think you had a point. I don't see how you can spin it to make it logical to say that Mallett "showed" Joe that other players can catch. Mallett was mostly throwing to players that weren't on the roster when Joe was playing, and most of Joe's targets were not on the roster when Mallett was playing.
  11. That's a good point. Still, If Cudiff sends us to OT, I think we have a much better shot at winning the SB than the Vikings if they make that kick yesterday. That's why I think Cundiff's was worse. We were extremely close to the SB and would have had a great shot to win it. The Vikings had very little chance to get there even if the kick was made. However, in the long run, it may have evened out for us, because if we won the SB in 2011, Cam Cameron probably wouldn't have been fired the next year, and we never would have had that great run in 2012.
  12. Cundiff's miss was worse. We had a trip to the SB on the line. The Vikings were playing for a trip to the divisional round, where they most likely would have been eliminated by the Cardinals.
  13. I don't know for sure, but I think the people that do the WR scouting are the same people who do scouting for every other position.
  14. If you don't want to see NE win, then you should probably root against the Bengals today. If Cinci loses, the Chiefs will go to NE, and I think they have a better chance of beating them than the Bengals, who will go to NE if they win today.
  15. A lot of people care about him now. The only people that don't are the people that didn't realize that a PCL sprain isn't going to cause chronic issues or end his career. People get frustrated that it was misdiagnosed, he had a setback, and he took longer to heal than usual, so they give up hope and let their frustrations get in the way of thinking realistically. The reality is that a player can have one injury that was worse than initially expected without having chronic issues or being overly injury prone. When Harbaugh talked about him healing slowly, he was talking about this specific injury, not in general.
  16. Perriman was not damaged goods. He had stayed healthy throughout his college career, and there was absolutely nothing wrong with him, physically. Check the facts before posting nonsense.
  17. It's very possible that anyone will get hurt next year. As far as Perriman goes, I don't think his PCL injury will affect his chances of getting hurt again at all. I have never heard of a PCL sprain causing chronic injury issues. No matter how long it takes to fully recover, once it's healed, it's healed. The only case I know of where someone missed that much time from a PCL sprain was Keenan Allen, who took more than 6 months to fully recover before his rookie year, and he has had a productive career so far. Perriman didn't have any serious injuries in college, so I don't see any reason to think he can't stay healthy in the future.
  18. I think there is almost a 0% chance that Givens, Mathews, and D Brown are all on the active roster next year. Brown alone has an extremely small chance of making it. He wasn't even getting much playing time the last couple games this year, so how would he stick around with Smith and Perriman coming back? Plus, Ozzie said he wants to get one or two more WRs, which will knock a couple of the players you mentioned out, and Campanaro, Waller, and Butler will probably be competing for a spot as well.
  19. Will people let that go already? You can't read about an injury update on this site anymore without people saying, "these are the same people who said Perriman would only be out a couple days......" Doctors misdiagnose injuries before doing tests sometimes. It happens. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't trust anything they say, ever.
  20. Before Flacco got injured, this team was not overmatched once, even against a couple SB contenders. The losing record was a fluke, not a habit. An overhaul is not needed. Get healthy, add a few players, and come back and contend again.
  21. I did read and comprehend the original post. It was only one sentence, it wasn't complicated, and I stand by my response to it. You can tell me I'm not making sense, but you didn't give any reasoning or logic as to why. "You don't even make sense" is nothing but a childish retort.
  22. 3 of those guys were on IR when Mallett played. Your comment doesn't even make any sense.
  23. There is no reason to think the Ravens won't make the playoffs in 2016. If we had multiple seasons like this one, I would say we have a long way to go, but this was our only losing season in 8 years. When you look at all the injuries, bad breaks, close losses, and out of character errors, this season was simply a fluke. The defense played much better in the second half of the season, and the offense was playing well before Flacco got hurt, despite the fact that we were down to 3rd string at all of our skill positions, which is extremely unlikely to happen again. The o-line struggle with injuries but played much better in the second half as well. It's nearly impossible to get through a season without any key injuries, but even if we brought back the same team, a reasonable healthy offense and defense would put us right back into contention. Add to that the 6th pick in the draft, plus we should get Perriman back, so it will be like having two 1st rnd picks, and the 2015 season will just be a blip on the radar.
  24. When people who have absolutely no clue what they're talking about make stuff up and accuse someone else of being a liar, it says a lot more about them than it does about the person they are accusing.
  25. There is nothing that says he still had an injury this year. He says he lost some speed and quickness because he couldn't train all year, which is to be expected. As someone else pointed out, the average recovery time for a Linsfrac injury is 11.5 months, and Jimmy came back in 7. Besides not training, he missed the preseason and was thrown right into action. Expecting him to be anywhere close to 100%(athletically, not health wise) is unrealistic. However, he was not going to get in football shape unless he played, and we didn't have strong depth in the secondary, so he wasn't hurting the team by working through it. Also, Rick Wagner has the same injury and played like garbage as well at the beginning of the year, and like Jimmy played much better later in the season.
