  1. I know you're not implying that they should have went with either one, but to me this is no longer an issue. The Ravens ended up picking up an extra 4th rounder and the 5th rounder in their trade backs instead of drafting Spence. This is significant right now to me for two reasons. The 5th rounder obviously became Matt Judon who is performing well, especially under limited snaps. No argument can me made, to me, for taking Spence when we got a pretty decent pass rusher anyway. As of now, we simply have another player who may or may not also contribute, but if he doesn't we at worst still got a good pass rusher. The second reason is that the 4th rounder turned into Chris Moore. Moore is easily the 3rd best, as of now, of Baltimore's 4th round picks, but he was the second one drafted. There's literally nothing to back this up but speculation, but they obviously drafted the players they did in the order they perceived their talents right? So that extra 4th rounder added one player. Assuming no other team grabbed one of our guys, that last player we were able to draft was Kenneth Dixon. For all we know, all our 4th rounders get drafted one Ravens pick sooner, and Dixon doesn't get drafted due to not having that extra pick. So it's not Jack/Spence vs Correa for me. It's Jack/Spence vs Correa, Dixon, and Judon. Easy pick imo
  2. What's the logic behind this? Top 5 in yards, rush yards, and points allowed. How is he a candidate to be fired??
  3. I don't believe in balance for the sake of balance. We've won 4 of the last 5 with the only loss being to the best team in the league. If the winning continues and the offense keeps scoring then I don't care how they do it. 50 RB runs, 50 passes, 50 QB sneaks, etc. I don't care at all.
  4. In all honesty, I'd lean towards Stanley either way. He missed 4 games, and Tavon Young is pretty good at his position, but I feel Stanley is better at LT right now than Young is at CB. I'd be more confident in Stanley facing top 10 d-lineman/OLBs than I would with Young facing top 10 WRs/QBs. This is not to ignore how well Young has played for a rookie though Stanley wins on the "valuable" level to me also
  5. Even with the games missed, Stanley has still played more snaps than Pierce. The offense may or may not be worse, but does that all fall on just the LT? Is everyone else the same and playing the same? No. Pierce is great, but let's not act like he's the reason the defense improved. Stanley is the most important rookie to the team right now because of the position he played. The win/loss record with Stanley in the lineup surpasses any other rookie
  6. It would only give us the #2 seed if we beat the Pats and end with the same record as them. If they have even one more win, they get the #2 seed
  7. The Ravens team that played today will crush the Patriots. If the Ravens team from previous weeks shows up, it'll be a long Monday night
  8. 2. Bills and Steelers
  9. Ugh. My 50/50 feelings on this game just just dropped to 80/20 in favor of Dallas
  10. His first catch in Buffalo. The catch against Norman where Norman was on his back like a cape. The TD against Cleveland. Cleveland sucks but the body control, flexibility, and ball locating ability, along with the fact he trapped the ball with his hands alone, are things Torrey never did in one play. I was a huge fan of Torrey and wished he'd have stayed, but they aren't comparable from a pure talent perspective
  11. This. Ray Lewis criticism of anyone has gotten very old. He manages to mention himself every single time in some way and clearly just likes to hear himself speak
  12. As of now, you'd be comparing 38 total games (including playoffs) to 9. So yeah, Torrey would blow just about any WR out the water in that comparison. I also agree that people shouldn't hate on Torrey. He was great for Baltimore. I also agree that Perriman has already made plays that we never saw Torrey make
  13. Can I get in on this?? If Dallas runs for 200+ yards you can pick my first every avatar on this site for a week. If they run for anything less than 200 yards then I pick your av for a week (a week after the other bet if the Ravens cover).
  14. Reminds me of that Broncos divisional game in 2012. I was on a separate forum but Broncos fans came over to the Ravens board all week to let us know we didn't have a chance. We mentioned the many players that missed the first game, and they said it wouldn't matter because they were missing a guard in the first game that would add another 2 TDs to the offense somehow. Felt great to see the team shut those fans up
  15. That was also 2 years and about 5 injuries ago. It'd be great to see 2014 Dumervil again, but it's incredibly hard to expect, especially this Sunday from a guy who hasn't even practiced in over a month that isn't even confirmed to be 100%
  16. I've made this argument so many times. The 2013 draft sucked in the first and second round, but overall was a pretty good draft. I'd call it great if we could have retained Simon as opposed to losing him off the practice squad.
  17. Well I'm worried. This defense will change drastically if Jimmy isn't healthy of if he missed the game completely. He's easily the most important defender imo
  18. Church is out another 3 weeks or so. No clue on Claiborne. Scandrick they feel will be okay. Have to wait for the injury report to confirm though
  19. I've only been to one game so far this year (Jacksonville) and I keyed in on both Perriman and Wallace that game. Jacksonville played a lot of cover 1 while also having the corner press Perriman and Wallace. The whole game pissed me off because I couldn't count the number of times both, Perriman especially, beat the press before Joe finished even a three step drop and had nothing between them and the endzone except air and opportunity. Unfortunately Joe only looked towards Smith, Forsett, and Pitta that game. We should have blown them out but I digress. All this to say, I think Perriman is decent against press. Or the Jags corner sucked. I don't think the NFL has many corners that can press at the level of a Jimmy, Sherman, Revis, etc. Breshad needs an offseason to develop timing with Joe and work on his routes. The coaches also need to make sure he gets his reps. Aiken should not see snaps over Perriman
  20. Yeah, I checked their forum and many seem to think playing the #1 defense doesn't matter. I can kinda get it but there's a reason the age old adage is that "defense wins championships"
  21. Jernigan has another year. Williams is likely gone but mainly because Pierce has looked so good. Dumervil is likely gone and replaced by Judon. Guy can be resigned for cheap. Honestly, the only person that will really need to be replaced is Williams and Doom, both of which have replacements already on deck. Don't forget we'll get to see what Kaufusi cam do. Hopefully get a good year, from the backup position, out of Carl Davis. More playing time for Urban wouldn't be bad either. I think the d-line can stand a hit of up to 2 players not named Jernigan or Pierce (best pass rushers on the line).
  22. Honestly, if we had a better pass rush, it'd be the 2006 defense all over again
  23. 2008 - To come that close to a superbowl with a rookie QB was insane. I didn't think we'd beat Tennessee in the divisional round either yet they pulled it off. 2011 - Sweeping the division and against being just shy of the superbowl. Also, finally winning the division title under Harbaugh and Flacco and getting only the second playoff bye in team history 2014 - Finally beating Pittsburgh in the playoffs Absolutely abused them in their own stadium. Another great duel between Flacco and Brady.
  24. I may be in the minority but I think we beat Dallas on Sunday. I can also see a sweep of Pittsburgh, taking at least one from Cincinnati, and beating Miami. That'd be four, but I can also see a win against Philly depending on their defense, which has been very up and down lately. There's honestly a case for us winning and losing pretty much every game, expect maybe New England. I haven't been able to wrap my head around how we can beat them yet.
  25. Miami is a team I'm simply not all that concerned about. Their sudden surge is on the back of their run game and at this point, I have no reason to believe our run defense won't win that game. Simply not worried about their passing game if our secondary is healthy Dallas is a somewhat similar concept, but slightly different. That Dallas o-line is ridiculous, so it'll come down to how well the LBs can fill any openings their line may get. I don't think our d-line will lose all game long, but I expect them to lose on occasion. In terms of their passing game, I'm actually pretty confident in Jimmy vs Dez overall. 2016 Jimmy Smith has already had his way with players of Bryant's size and caliber (Allen Robinson, Brandon Marshall) so whereas he certainly may give up a little more than his normal under 35 yards, I don't see him getting abused. Hopefully 10 days of rest and scheming will continue to help improve the offense Cincy I'm a little on the fence about. They look bad this season, but they have consistently managed to beat us. It's been like seeing Peyton Manning on the schedule. The team might not be great yet I have my concerns (I'm sure Pittsburgh fans feel this way about Baltimore by now). If Jimmy can eliminate AJ Green like he did other WRs, we should be fine. Of course their o-line has been a problem for us. I think cincy limits Suggs, for example, better than any other team. Either way, with the defense alone I can see us splitting these games I agree with an above prediction that says we go at worst 2-2 in these game with a strong possibility of 3-1. 4-0 would essentially guarantee a division title
