  1. Sadly, since Flacco, most players we've trade up for haven't worked out. Oher - Average at best his whole career Reid - Regardless of what he's doing now, he's been bad Brown - See above Off the top of my head. Campanaro may be the only saving grace if he can stay healthy, which seems like a long shot as of now.
  2. How is he 3 of 7 since Joe was picked in 08 when the team didn't draft in the first round of 2010 or 2012? So, by your standards, that would make Ozzie 3 of 5, with one of those two misses being a player who is still in his rookie preseason, right?
  3. Who is CJ that doesn't have blazing speed? Surely you don't mean Calvin Johnson who ran a 4.35 40. That said, I don't know why this is a big issue right now. Torrey ran a straight line and caught a pass or got a penalty against the defense (outside of the times he simply couldn't track the ball). His 4.4 40 wasn't that unique. Waller also ran a 4.4 40 and can conceivably do the same thing. Waller has better ball tracking ability and better hands. There's no reason not to use him for deep passes until Perriman heals up
  4. I wasn't on the boards last year but is this really true??? Pretty much everyone I saw everywhere else was surprised with his sudden jump way up most draft boards, and you're saying guys here were hoping he'd fall to 17?
  5. With Perriman's injury, I don't see how they don't use Waller for just that at minimum. Besides the fact, as you said, he's been one of the consistent positives at the WR position, he's perfect for that role. Maybe not Torrey per se since Torrey was a starter, but there's no reason Waller can't do a 2012 Jacoby or 2014 Martavis Bryant and just come in, run that deep route, and see what happens. Even in that Saints preseason game, he drew how many penalties for the team? With his consistent improvements and play, I don't see how they don't use him this season as of now.
  6. Yeah, I'm pretty sure these are the measurements they use for players. It's rare that it ever changes
  7. Yeah, he just has to take up a roster spot as I doubt they'd IRDR him.
  8. I like this. He showed good vision and speed Saturday so this could be a good thing.
  9. Primarily because of the time Taliaferro will miss. I doubt we go into the season with just 2 RBs. Who gets cut when Taliaferro returns is another topic
  10. I disagree with the Colston comparison as he's not really a deep threat like Megatron or even Waller. The Calvin comparison honestly shouldn't happen since Waller has proven nothing, but they come from the fact they have similar size and weight (Colston is 20+ pounds lighter than either of them) and the fact they both ran very fast 40s for their size (4.3 for Calvin, 4.4 for Waller) where as Colston's 40 was more in line of a guy his size (4.5). Most importantly, Calvin and Darren come from the same school. I don't agree with the Calvin comparison as Waller hasn't proven to be on that level on the field, but in terms of measurables, it's the right one
  11. That's fair. After I posted that, I was also thinking that they just want to see what he can do underneath since they know what he can do deep
  12. Also add that he's gotten better separation than I thought he would by way of changing direction (which isn't easy for guys his size). On one play, he looked like he was running a dig route that changed into an out route. He got himself open but Schaub just missed him. Another play he ran a post route and Schaub threw it 2-3 yards shy of Waller's feet. His route running has looked much better than his draft bio lead me to believe it would look
  13. With Perriman out for an undisclosed amount of time, I'm really surprised they aren't using Waller as a deep threat. Maybe they will in this next game after mostly short and intermediate passes against Philly. One thing I've wanted during the entire Flacco era was more than one deep threat at WR. You get a big armed QB and initially don't give him a deep threat receiver (outside of Stallworth who mainly did end arounds) and then you only give him one with inconsistent hands and ball tracking ability who didn't always run at full speed until it was too late. That's the main reason I'm pulling for Waller. I envision him and Perriman lining up on the outside in the future and safeties not knowing who's side to slide to. Plus Waller has looked much better than expected so I feel he deserves more opportunities. He's the only WR not named Smith that has not only looked good in camp and games but has also stayed healthy
  14. That sucks. I guess Terrence Magee will see more snaps next week and the week after. Both he and Toussaint
  15. McGee looking like he should back up Forsett
  16. Yeah, there is 0 cap savings to cut Schaub. It's the same cap hit with or without him so he's likely on the team come week 1
  17. Good route by Waller. Bad throw by Schaub
  18. Well, we have another 4.4 40 WR out there. He's just catching a lot of underneath passes while others go deep....for some reason
  19. How? Joe's missed open guys and is throwing off. Schaub is.....Schaub, so he's been off too. How is that a reflection of the WRs?
  20. I like seeing Waller getting passes, but as the fastest WR active, I'm shocked he's getting all short passes
  21. But to be fair, look at the competition Brown was going against. We're talking a second round pick we traded up for going against, essentially, camp bodies in the 4th quarter of the first preseason game.. I'm indifferent to Brown at the moment but I think the people that aren't a fan of his are upset by the fact he wasn't even the top backup last season and now that he's starting his 3rd season, we still don't know if he's 3rd on the depth chart or 5th.
  22. I'm just hoping Waller gets a few good targets today. But good game or bad game (all players have both), he just has to make the team at this point. He's shown to much growth in a short time and his potential is too high
  23. I'd say Waller should be able to do everything Torrey was doing, but also be used for jump balls (as implied). Of course those jump balls can be in the endzone or just 7 yards down field when needing a first down. If he can truly keep using his body to shield defenders then he could be a great first down target
