  1. Dez went 1 pick before the Ravens because the Pats traded with Dallas at the last second. We'd have likely taken Dez since New England wouldn't have. Gronk is pure hindsight because his injury issues (if I recall correctly) is why he wasn't considered a first rounder and he was gone before the 2nd round pick
  2. This is accurate. One guy kept saying that with Dumervil out, they should now be able to run the ball better. I thought maybe he was mistaken but he posted that same line of thinking in multiple threads.
  3. I went to the Bills forum to see how their fans felt about the game. Many expect a blowout in their favor. A few think Baltimore is a bottom 5 team this year. I expected biased optimism, as all fans do it, but I wasn't expecting sincere 20+ point win predictions
  4. Yeah, the Steelers are overrated. That offense only really took off when Bryant started getting significant snaps half way through 2014 (minus the beating giving to that bad Panthers team). Bryants gone for the year and Wheaton won't add the same threat element. Maybe Coates can be he hasn't looked that good so far this preseason with many drops and poor route running. In fact, it looks like Coates has been leaped on the depth chart by Eli Rogers. And then Bell is out 4 games. Williams has been good for them On defense, the Steelers aren't really a threat. William Gay is their best corner and he'll be playing outside when he's at his best in the slot. Their other corners are nothing to lose your mind over. Jarvis Jones is still a bum and Dupree is out half the year. A 3-4 team with no pass rush from it's OLBs and only getting pressure from the line should easier to scheme against. Shazier has speed but no instincts. Timmons has instincts but is getting older and losing speed. And their safeties are average at best. The Steelers will need to score 30+ per game and I'm not sure the offense does that this season without Bryant. The Bengals should still be the class of the division
  5. I'm in agreement that Chris Moore should be given the chance. Realistically, as good as anyone may feel Moore is or will be (I personally love his potential), he won't play ahead of SSS, Aiken, Wallace, or Perriman. So as opposed to making him a potential inactive on game days, let him see the field as a returner
  6. The best part of both plays is he showed no hesitation to make the cuts needed on the routes. He's not playing with his knee injuries on his mind. As someone else said, he's also physical. This isn't Torrey who'll be taken out of games by press coverage. He had a target he couldn't pull in where it looked like PJ Williams tried to jam him and Perriman spun him all the way around.
  7. The reason I say that is because he went from #2 last season to #4 this preseason. When a cut needs to be made, the #4 RB because an option
  8. The fact that Allen is playing AFTER Houston is a bad sign for him
  9. Only Mallet can overthrow someone 6'6
  10. Twice on the same return. I'd give Butler the spot Camp was going to get, make Moore the return man, and keep Pierce in addition to whoever else they planned to keep on the d-line
  11. He might if Davis is really hurt
  12. For 2nd and 3rd stringer to hold the Saints starting offense is a huge win in my opinion
  13. College production and the fact it was reported that many teams wanted him when the undrafted market opened up.
  14. As long as they don't go the route of the 08 Lions
  15. The military and the NFL are not the same. Players in the NFL aren't appointed leadership due to any rank or seniority. They are leaders because other players and coaches see leadership in their actions. An above example is Ray Lewis. Fans talk about the "rah rah" leadership far more than the fact he was one of the people you could count on to lead by example. 4th and 1 against the charges is the type of thing that makes him a leader.
  16. I think the "emotional leader" concept is overrated. We had Ray in 2002, 2005, and 2007 while the team sucked. And had Ray from 01-07 where we won one playoff game. Meanwhile every offensive player he's had has said quiet Joe was a definite leader. Torrey has continued to sing his praises since his departure. I'd say having leaders in general is more important than what kind of leader they are.
  17. I agree it's definitely the deepest on paper, but too early to say the best. IF SSS can give us 70% of what he was giving the team last season before injury AND Perriman can play on the NFL level as well as his college tape looks then it will be the best. Honestly I think the only thing that prevents this from being the best is health. Does Steve get back to at least 70%? Will Perriman and Campanaro stay healthy? Can Butler and Moore play well in real games? Aiken and Wallace are the only two I have no real questions about.
  18. Honestly, I'm also one of the ones that felt the Watson signing was overrated. One great season with Drew Brees throwing to him (keep in mind the Saints led the league in pass attempts so Watson had more chances). I still feel it was a panic move since at that time, Gilmore was hurt, Pitta was an uncertainty, Boyle got his suspension announced, and Waller/Brown were first year transitions. In terms of the thread, I don't see the reason for panic. How many people remember the TEs that backed up Heap or how they performed? We went into many seasons with one primary TE. After Heap was released in 2011, we went into that season with two relatively unknown TEs. I see no reason to panic now simply because we won't go in 3-4 deep. It's a little bit of hindsight from when the thread was made, but we're going into week 1 with Gilmore, Pitta, and Williams. They just have to make it 4 weeks and then we get another guy.
  19. Pending Jensen is good at presnap reads, I'd be fine with this lineup if they are the most talented options. I think LT, RG, and RT are definitely set though
  20. Asa actually was prescribed adderall but failed to show the paperwork to the NFL until after he was suspended. To be fair, I don't remember if it was his first or second, but I recall him getting cleared to use Adderall literally the day after he was suspended On topic, this thread is laughable
  21. Forsett would be much better trade bait imo. At this point, he'll likely garner a higher draft pick than any other RB, and it's doubtful he's on the week 1 roster next year anyway.
  22. I hope the kid is fully healed. He's been through so much in just a year, I'm sure his first reception will be a bigger moment for him than it would have been last year. Plus I'm tired of seeing all the corny "who", "he's a myth", and "he does exist" type of posts on various Ravens social media sites.
  23. Even though he returns kicks, I wouldn't keep Camp and cut Butler. Campanaro has proven he's always one sneeze away from injury. And Butler has been great at WR. Considering Smith and Perriman are coming back from serious injury, and Moore just had a walking boot on two weeks ago (all seem healthy now), I just wouldn't want to depend on a guy to back them up who's more injury prone than they are
  24. Nobody has come close to that playoff run and nobody will for awhile. And even still, there were far too many other parts involved in that for a heavy amount of credit to be put on Pitta's back. Now if you mean the regular season, 2014 was better and Pitta wasn't around for that year at all but it was Joe's best season. Dennis simply as big of a factor as he was meant to be going into 2013. Giving up a roster spot to a healthy body for his recovery is a mistake imo. And with Watson likely set to be the #1 TE, Pitta will do nothing but take away reps from the young and developing Maxx Williams. All that said, I don't think they cut him unless they can get an injury waiver scenario going (although I'm not sure how that affects the cap)
  25. Thank you!
