  1. Speaking of Flacco being elite lets add into the mix that in addition to all the injuries that have screwed the team all year what about the lack of a solid running attack which I'm not sure is a product of the current players on the line or if it is a transition thing by changing coordinators.

  2. Speculation at best. Name one. Just one.

Speculation. Not proof. Since you both lack any actual fact to back up your argument.

You mean one of the 36 or older ones who were already on their last legs when they came here? Please. What a reach. I can make that argument for Aiken then right? I mean, he didn't even make the roster of the 7 other teams he's played on but is on pace for #2 numbers here right?

No once again you always twist when proven wrong.

Your argument was Flacco would not have won multiple SBs because the team had other issues. That year Ryan had it all and STILL could not do it while Flacco had a worse O line, a run game only producing less than 1 yd a carry more, a worse defense and carried that to a SB win. Which points more to the fact that given the same weapons as Ryan year after year (consistency ! Imagine!) Flacco would have been more successful.

Especially when in 2013 we had zero running game, putrid O line, questionable defense and were only one win away from the playoffs with no top tier targets at WR. Imagine if that year Flacco had Julio and Gonzalez. A year he had receiving targets drop more passes than any other QB in the league.

You asked a question and it was answered. Up to you what you do with an answer to that question.

As far as the getting rid of Joe aspect, I can't say I want to get rid of him based on the question of who out there would I want more? Just like how the Cowboys keep Romo around after all his antics Im sure they ask who else do they want and could actually get? Until there is a better choice financially and physically Joe will be here. Doesn't make him any better or worse for this team because of this though.

  3. Disagree with this. Aiken wasn't good enough to stick around on NE's practice squad. Yet he's out #2 receiver. Marlon Brown would not start on another team in the league. Looking backwards, we relied on Tandon Doss. After he was cut, I believe he landed with the Jags briefly before he was cut during camp, and never saw a roster again.

Our talent at WR is horrible. There's really no way around it.

Please note my last sentence. FO is as much to blame for this overall problem as Joe is for not sucking it up and using what he has.

  4. No, clearly your argument has been proven invalid and you now have no response.

Not clear just thinking you picked me to argue with and it's funny.

Joe isn't good enough to make less than ideal players work at all. I don't care how bad they are they made an NFL roster somehow which means they must have something that worked at one time.

The fact that we don't ever get production out of young receivers is as much Joe's fault as it is the front offices.

  5. LMBO Don't even with the Steelers. They have that "it" factor for hitting on WRs. And really. Brown? You mean with Vick throwing to him? Because he seemed to do just fine with Landry Jones throwing him the ball didn't he? One busted.

Brady struggled mightily until Gronk came back from injury. Two busted.

Jennings was on the decline long before he left GB. Just look at his performances in 2011 and 2012. Rodgers was still throwing him the ball then wasn't he? Three busted. That would be like saying Ed Reed was elevated by those around him here because he failed when he went to other teams.

James Jones? Hasn't touched 1,000 yds in any year. Hardly a case of being elevated. That one is beyond a reach. That fits the case I outlined of other targets taking the best defenders and opening up opportunities. James Jones has only even hit 800 yds once.

Clearly you've convinced yourself to the point where you can disagree with everything said. Joe clearly isn't the issue so let's surround him with only probowl level receivers so there will be no doubt of his elite status.

  6. Again, name them. Nelson didn't go elsewhere and bomb so that is at best conjecture on your part. I always love the "elevate their WRs" argument which has no basis in any fact at all.

Look up and down the stat lines of games and find all the guys that weren't first round talent. Its pretty easy. Other teams consistently do more with less. For us our later round/lesser talent guys don't do as much. So it's as much of an argument that Joe doesn't "elevate" talent is it is that we don't get those diamonds in the rough that seem to show up on every other team.

  7. A majority of them started off as nobody's and their QB's had a major part in making them who they are today. What he means, I believe, is Flacco has never been able to elevate guys from their original skill set. Which is why he isn't an elite QB.

Yes this. Im not sure a Jordy Nelson would have been an elite talent with other QBs but Rodgers was great with him.

Brady as much as I hate him makes guys nobody has ever heard of look pretty darn solid.

Just don't see Joe doing that. Sure he made Boldin and SSS look like beasts but they already were when they came and were when they left/or leave.

  8. What I feel separates Joe from other top QB's is the ability to make due with what he has. All this talk about him not having this guy or that guy and it really shouldn't matter. Joe is streaky, when he is on he is on fire, when he isn't then we get threads like this. My problem is how other QB's like Rodgers, Brady, Big Ben, can make virtually unknown players look like probowlers yet when Joe loses SSS and not having a 1st rd. pick play yet we can all argue that he has noone to throw to.

At his level he should be able to make something happen with the little that he has. Be a leader and tell receivers what he wants them to do. I know he isn't a rah rah guy but I never see him talking to guys on the sidelines like other QB's do.

With all this said I blame the majority of this year to injuries. Few teams would be able to survive with the amount of loss that we have had so far this year and that along with some coachings issues has added up to where we were. Talk is about how bad we are yet in our 5 losses we lost by a combined 22 points and biggest defeat was by 6 points. Just imagine if we had half of our injuries back.
