  1. Unlike the DC area, where the Redskins are shown every week and the Ravens are on about 95% of the time as its their secondary market and the one of the people who works at WUSA 9, a CBS affiliate used to work for the Ravens, it also helps  that we're in the AFC and their in the NFC, otherwise during the regular season, I doubt, we'd see as many games if they were both in the same conference.

  2. I heard Josh Scobee kicked on that turf in last years Hall of Fame Game and messed up his quad muscles and he tried to kick though it, but he was cut after the game at Heinz Field against the Ravens, so in a way it was a cheap victory, but with all the injuries, I'll take whatever they give me.

That is interesting.  I am wondering how legal that is.
I know by law ( health code ? ) restaurants MUST make free water available.  Now I don't know if restaurants covers ALL places that serve food, or just places that have seating.

Football Stadiums don't count as restaurants, you don't buy a ticket to eat at one.  It does not cover public places.  I do volunteer work for the Washington Kastles and when they were in their temporary outdoor locations they charged $5 for water.  Now that they play at George Washington University's Smith Center, they have to use the fountains.

Another idea 2 Preseason games in Europe,Australia and in Japan. And 2 preseason games in the states 1 home 1 road

They had a preseason game in Sweden, and Minnesota was playing in it so the majority of fans rooted for the Vikings, of course.  And they've played once in Australia where the Aussie rules players thought they were wimps with all the padding and helmets.

In 2001 the Ravens and the Eagles had to cancel a preseason game at the Vet due to the bad turf.  Went to a Philies July 4th game and they let us on the field to watch the post game fireworks.  It felt like they put it on top of asphalt.

Ladies and Gentlemen your Super Bowl XLVII Champs...The Baltimore Americans hahahaha

When Modell came here, he tried to make an offer for the Colts name, but Jim Irsay wanted 300 Million and Art was so broke at the time he coulden't afford a practice squad the first year.

Many of you may know that the Ravens first coach was Ted Marchibroda, but....

Did you know that he coached the BALTIMORE Colts from 1975 to 1979?

Did you also know that he actually coached the INDIANAPOLIS Colts from 1992 to 1995 before becoming the Ravens coach in 1996?

Talk about a very strange journey.

Had the USFL actually played in the fall of 1986, Ted Maricbroada was going to replace Jim Mora as Coach of the Stars, as Mora already accepted the job with the New Orleans Saints.

Ted's record with the Ravens, 16-31-1 over 3 seasons and he was replaced by Brian Billick which was one of the pieces in the puzzle to start a winning tradition in Baltimore, the other was the draft picks playing better and Steve signed on first as Art Modell's partner, then buying him out in 3 years.

  7. Escalators not just for the club level, but to the 500 level as well.  Whoever said i was lazy, remember Jim Fixx who was a famous Marathon Runner had a Heart Attack.  From what I heard Steve Bisciotti wants them, but they will wait until a replacement for M&T Bank Stadium gets built which still has about a dozen years on the lease.  When that happens they could build a replacement in one of the parking lots or play for a couple of years in Camden Yards while a new facilely is built on the same site.  That will probably mean new PSLs.

About Light Rail have the time and destination signs show the number of cars 2, 4 or 6 on a train, when I went to Artscape I had to run to the front and somebody jammed the back door with their bikes and had to run to the middle and stand up.  The MTA should consider starting the service at 8 AM on Sunday instead of 10:30am, when there's no Ravens or Os game, they could generate revenue from riders going to Church.

    emergency QB-Reynolds for obvious reasons

emergency Kicker- Sam Koch, he nailed a 60 harder in training camp last year

I agree with Reynolds, althouhg the offense at Navy was more of ground based attack with the Triple Option which isn't used in pros.

Koch, although if that happened they would just audition Free Agent Kickers next week.in Ownings Mils.

Remember what Johnny Unitas said after Modell announced he's moving Browns to Baltimore. He said this would never have happened if Baltimore was granted an expansion franchise. Cleveland fans have nobody to blame but to Mr Tagulbue.

Not to mention the deal to relocate was signed on Al Lerner's private jet at BWI.   Lerner was his partner at one time.  When asked after he became owner of the new Browns franchise about this, he said "I just gave Art a ride" so he has a share of the blame, too.

  10. Some NFL moves to Baltimore that never happened:
In  1985 Some local businessmen tried to buy the New Orleans Saints and move them to Baltimore, the commissioner shot that down and told the Baltimore, they'd get next expansion team which was a lie.

1987, the city was the runner up for the Cardinals who moved to Arizona.

The expansion effort with the Baltimore Bombers had 3 different ownership groups, two later owned teams in other cities.  Boogie Weinglass who owned Merry Go Round and the other owners wanted someone who didn't have a ponytail and wore a 3 piece suite.  Al Lerner who later wound up owning the expansion Browns and Malcom Glazier who got the Bucs.

In 1995 they deal to get a stadium was in the 11th hour and passed after the Colts Band played the fight song.  John Moag had interested from the Bucs, the Browns and Cardinals.  He went with Modell because he felt in the best chance for success, although some people said Modell moved to save his team from bankruptancy, because there were stories that he was broke.

  11. One thing most people forget is Irsay moved after Lawmakers in Annapolis passed an "Eminent Domain" bill which was going to seize the team from him for some type of market value and then sell it for a profit to someone who'd keep it Baltimore.  The Colts owner left to escape from happening that and protect his investment so he had to move fast to get to Indy.

  12. Finally after several years of trying, I got picked on August 16 to go.  My strategy  was just with the five dates I picked, I just choose weekday dates where there's less demand and will be taking the day off from work.    Those who got picked before you go, call 410 261 RAVE and choose 4 for training camp updates to see if they have practice or not, especially if its weather related.

  13. The problem that year is they filmed "The Replacements" during football season.  They had to paint "Washington" about the fictitious Washington Sentinels on the end zone during the filming, then "Ravens 2000" before a Ravens home game.  At the end of the season it looked like dirt painted black.
