That's really unfortunate if their sales are still slow.  I want the Brigade to succeed as well as the Valor.

Last I heard they're selling season tickets at 30 a week clip. I do too, but the Valor had a 3 month jump on the Brigade, and finally on Monday you can buy t-shirts and other gear on shop.monumentalsporstsnet.com.  I wish the Baltimore team had a separate ownership groups that knows the city.   In fact the Brigade's ticket office in in DC.  I will be repping on tonight at the Verizon Center.

The fans are to blame for what's happenING with the current product. Is there a coincidence that the WWE is STILL losing viewers nowadays? Nope. If you watch closely, notice how Reigns and Cena (who Vince loves like they were his sons) have different set of matches than everybody else. What do I mean by this?

Both products now have more promos than actually wrestling for starters (what a joke). Most of the matches that do occur only last about 5 minutes tops. In addition, the ending to these matches are usually weak (interference, DQ, etc.) However if it was a match involving Cena or Reigns, the matches are typically longer with more kickouts which makes the crowd think their matches have higher quality than the others hence the "THIS IS AWESOME" chants. Look at the Royal Rumble for instance. How does Roman Reigns get to be in the Rumble match yet Styles doesn't even though both lost their respective title matches? See the favoritism.

WWE as a whole has become quite predictable, but SD at least tries to throw us a curveball here and there (i.e. Styles defeating Harper last week when everyone and their mama thought the opposite result was going to happen). For me, it's a 50/50 share of blame. 50% for Vince because oversees the entire thing and is too stubborn to change his booking philosophy. I'm totally convinced he no longer cares about the ratings because he just wants to see Cena and Reigns succeed at the expense of the more talented wrestlers. The other 50% goes to the fans for accepting all of this. They claim they want change, but they don't. I could argue they enjoy this product at its current state. It's unfortunate that WWE has no competition because it's clear as day they're complacent.

Vince was rumored to buy Ring of Honor, but it doesn't look that way now.  There's Impact wrestling, and El Ray has that Serial Drama "Lucha Underground', there are some weak competition.  And New Japan on AXS with Jim Ross which is good lead in to their fight night.  Then there are the indepents like Maryland Championship Wrestling.  So there are alternatives to the WWE, you just gotta look.

  3. I'll miss the words yelled at each other about escalators.  Which there are already was some to the club level and will be installed up to the 500 level this season.  I'm pretty sure they'll still have ramps for those who want to climb up like they used to do.

It's a shame more owners don't agree to leave behind team names and history when they move, like what Art did when the Browns became the Ravens. That way if by chance Oakland got an expansion team it could get the Raiders again.

Art was forced to leave the name, colors and history behind as part of an out of court settlement with the City of Cleveland, so they wouldn't sue him over the last year of the lease there.

  5. Those last two years in Oakland will be like the Houston Oilers in 1995 when 3 weeks before the season owner Bud Adams announced he was going to move the team to Nashville, and play a couple of lame duck seasons in the Astrodome, it was half full at best, then the played a season at Memphis in the Liberty Bowl which not many people showed up.  They played one more year at Vanderbilt and they moved to Nashville and became the Tennessee Titans.

This was also mentioned by a Browns fan who called himself Art Bietz as part of his anti Baltimore website Greedwatch.com

  6. Sadly I heard that the Brigade have only sold 500 season tickets so far.  There's still no place to buy t-shirts online or any other team gear..  The problem is Ted Leonsis's dual ownership, should have announced both teams at the same time.  Or had a separate Baltimore based ownership group run the team.

The first game in DC against the Valor will be televised on CBS Sports Network as part of their Arena Football coverage this year.

  7. I get put down when I suggested escalators for the 500 level which should be ready in a couple of years anyway.  I was called lazy. If they don't like them, they'll probably just keep stairs or ramps at one part of the stadium for those who want to walk.   If you don't want them, I suggest you stand outside the club level and you'll get a bunch of angry people if you say they don't deserve them.

  8. There was talk of a NFL Developmental League at one time, had they had it in spring, it could also have NFL referees and justify having them year round.    Also there was talk of an Academy for players out of the league in the regular seas.  Probably would have had 4 NFL teams assigned to one franchise.  I'd would have had the teams in cities where there's no NFL or Major League Baseball franchises.

did anyone know laquan williams is playing wr for the brigade? thats interesting.

might get some tix to see this. football during the offseason is worth a few bucks to me

I heard they signed a former Raven, when calling about season tickets, I said "that might sell you a ticket or two".  They look like they're off to a good start despite starting 3 month later than the Valor.

Yeah, while amusing this is completely false. It is against Life/Safety codes to use a secured escalator as a staircase. If they break down they have to be barricaded until repaired.

Escalators are an inherintly dangerous piece of equipment and a maintenance nightmare. They are also energy hogs. I can see why they have resisted their installation. I would guess installing them will raise liability insurance exponentially and also add a huge chunk of change to the operating budget.

They used stopped escalators in the Washington Metro all the time.

Is it sad I looked that up and legitimately thought 1997 was 10 years ago? Getting old!

And at a bar in Northern Virginia watching the Ravens game, just before I see tv ads for Redskins season tickets.  Guess the 30 year waiting list is history.

I agree we need escalators to upper level just like Oriole Park has two escalators from warehouse entrance and the other one by left field entrance.

They work because they are split between two levels and someone holds back traffic between them for safety.

No offense, but you're going to a football game. Did memorial stadium have escalators back in the Colts days? Sincerely asking as I'm not sure but doubt it.

Theres elevators at M&T. For those that can't make it up there. Handicapped and so on. If you're not handicapped with a legit excuse, there's ramps. Not even stairs. Ramps. I mean cmon this is getting rather silly he laziness of America. Not about health nuts. Think of it as a game, can I finish this beer before I make it to the top?

I don't drink beer and two there were escalators at Memorial stadium and there was accident on safety patrol day that killed some kids.   The reason I heard they only had escalators to the Club Level was Modell had trouble maintaining them at Municipal stadium, but the plumbing was so bad in places that they had porta potties on the concourse.  They have them up at Oriole Park with no problems.  But if you insist, they should rip them out of the club level as well.

Any chance a stranded Northern Virginia Ravens fan can catch the preseason on those channels?

I'd like to see them renew with WJLA 7, or switch to WUSA 9 for the preseason, especially since they dropped CSN and their umpteen repeats of the games, NFL Network usually shows every preseason game but on a delayed basis mostly.  About the Ravens shows, show them on a Baltimore station, then have them on digitally for the rest of the fans.

All the complainers finally got their escalators. Lol. I can't find the design, but given the stadium just where are they going to put these?

Perhaps they'll do It like FedEx Field, where they have a bank of them going to the 400 level and ramps for all the "Health Nuts".
