The Raiders had five year term PSLs in Oakland but got rid of them when season ticket sales tank. I think the Ravens will sell them again when a new stadium is being built to replace M&T Bank Stadium but that's at least several years down the road.

Imagine if we did this when the Ravens came to Baltimore, the Baltimore Browns Backers would be mad as hell. Still there was a Snickers ad that got them mad. I felt St. Louis was "too little, too late" in keeping the Rams. They should have first offered an extension of the current lease while it was fixed instead of when it went year to year. Sure Art may moved the team and left the name so he could get out of the one year remaining on the lease as part of the deal, as an out of court settlement with Cleveland, but it also reinvented the franchise when it came here. Actually the person to credit for the move was Joan Moag then head of the Maryland Stadium Authority, there other teams interested in coming here, the Buccaneers, the Cardinals (for a second look, this city was runner up to Arizona in the mid 80s) and the Raiders who would have moved had Modell stayed. Moag went with him, because they would have the best chance for success here. Actually I like being in the AFC, because I can watch most of the games on DC TV, except for one or two. I went to the first home game at Memorial stadium after hearing more tickets were relased while watching the last preseason game. I was a member of a Ravens Roost in Bowie that later became a Nest until folding 7 years ago. I still tailgate with them before a game in Lot H. I park in the Park Under Garage for $15 and just deal with the traffic on the way home. I watch most of the game at Rock Bottom Arlington with a group of DC/NOVA Ravens Fans, although we're still up in the air next season because of their location in Ballston Commons Mall is facing major renovation as they become Ballston Quarter....

University of Chicago was one of the original members of the Big 10, they dropped sports in World War II and were later replaced by Michigan State. They're still in the academic arm of the B1G, the Center for Intercollegiate Cooperation where all the schools pool their resources, and have digitalized their libraries, I'd like to see the lacrosse associate Johns Hopkins join this as well since they are top research University and can bring a lot to this organization. If Baltimore ever gets around to building a new arena and gets a hockey team, I'd like see an outdoor hockey festival either at M&T or Camden Yards.

Cleveland '95 was the Cleveland perspective of the move to Baltimore. The real person who gets the credit is John Moag of the Maryland Stadium Authority. He had offers from Al Davis and the Raiders, the Bucs and the Cardinals (a second time) but went with Modell and the Original Browns because they had the best chance for success in this town. Had Modell not moved Al Davis was waiting in the wings. Baltimore was the runner up city for the Cardinals relocating, when they decided on Arizona, the Bidwells chose that city because it was warm most of the year. Also Georgia Frontier flirted with this town when she moved the Rams to St. Louis. Hopefully the next one that's Ravens related is our next Super Bowl Champions season highlights video, if not then NFL Films will probably release a historical DVD box set for the Ravens 25th anniversary.

I remember they played a NFL Preseason game in Sweden with the Vikings, And obviously that's what the majority of the crowd rooted for. There was a Pro Football act that said the NFL couldn't permanently move teams up there to protect the CFL, or course they had the US Experiment where the Baltimore Stations won it all, but no one cared in the USA elsewhere. If the Ravens did play a game in England it would be as the visiting team, because on the PSL contract it says "All Ravens home games must be played in Baltimore.

They have installed a new video board at Royal Farms and upgraded the locker rooms, although this is what I call putting band aids and lipstick on a 54 year old pig. They are resting on their laurels as being on of the top grossing concert venues. Meanwhile Baltimore is still the largest city in America without a pro hockey team, unless they spend some more renovation money on fixing the ice surface, the only winter team will be the Baltimore Blast. I remember when the USFL lawsuit verdict came in, the local radio announcer said "The handwritings on the wall" only way the NFL comes here is to build a new stadium well the same goes for other sports. They would have been better off building a new arena now while the cost are cheaper rather than put more money into an aging facility. If the NHL expands, so will the developmental system and the parade will pass this city by.
