With some clear thoughts I will give my synopsis. My mind was clouded because I watched it with my 9 year old and he of course was entertained.
Clearly, this era doesn't do it for the real fans of Wrestling. Thinking back, it didn't do it for me either. I didn't see any real technical moves, no building up in any of the matches, just some finishers with 2 count breaks because it's WM. I remember when you were hit with a finisher, you were done, no questions asked. Only top level talent would kick out at two.
The most entertaining match of the night for me was the Divas. Even that was a little sloppy but you saw some good stuff out of them. It was believable. Charlotte hitting that moonsault was a thing of beauty.
The "streetfight" was abysmal. If this was 1997 that fight would've been in the crowd, the backstage area, the bathrooms etc. it stayed in the ring...
Battle Royal sucked
The Hell in A Cell match. Clearly, Taker just doesn't have the physical tools to be the Undertaker anymore. That should be expected, he's old. He just didn't do anything to wow me besides the entrance. His next mania should be his final IMO. For some reason, I feel Shane wants to bring back the attitude era. They should do it. I don't want to see everyone so happy that they lost or won. Let's have some damn Steveweisers!!
HHH and Reigns.... Man, the champ should be the best guy on the roster, that match was ugly and dominated pretty much the whole time by Hunter. Roman is not very, again I say technical. All I saw was super man punches and spears. Change his name to the Whaler if he just wants to spear. This match was also bad because Hunter can't give a HOF worthy memorable match to save his life.
WWE is going to be faced with real problems because their young blood cannot hold a candle to that Attitude Era talent, and their top talent, just isn't that good. I hope something changes for them. I'll reluctantly watch tonight and see what happens
