    That usually just gets you suspended.  Believe me, other than spammers and obvious trolls, it takes quite a lot to get banned here.  We have a lot of posters who have been suspended multiple times, but we keep letting them back.  The whole mod team is very reluctant to ban anyone who seems to be an actual fan.

    We once had a seemingly demented woman absolutely stalking a player through the forums.  She repeatedly accused him of fathering an illegitimate child (like that ever happens in the NFL) and made progressively more nasty threats.  That one finally had to get bumped up to team security.  Don't know what happened from there, but she never posted again.

    We had another stalking incident that got so bad that eventually police were involved.  

    There was a player's estranged father trying to open contact through the forums.  

    And then there's he whose name shall never be mentioned.  Shudder.

    These are the kinds of things that have gone on in the background for years.

     

    On a happier note, think of all of the births, graduations, engagements, and marriages we've celebrated over the years.

    I'll tell you a little about trolls, though.  

    The P*triots hold the record for the most banned trolls.  They're pretty vicious and mostly have very nasty language.  They usually hit the blogs, so a lot of you probably never saw their "work".  They're definitely the most hated group by the mods.  They're pretty relentless.  They like to offer a lot of alternative facts, too, in their 3 page posts.  

    In second place we have the 49ers.  Their trolls were mostly whiney and gave us mods some good laughs on occasion.  They were large in numbers, not so much in creativity.  They also have better language.  They disappeared after a while.

    We've banned a few Steeler trolls, but not really very many.  They tend to be hit and run anyhow.  One non-troll fan got banned but he did something beyond extreme to earn that distinction.  

    Bengals and Browns fans seem to behave pretty decently, as do fans of most teams.  

    Frankly, we get trolled more by our own "fans".

    This.  He did nothing in the last four games.  All of his sacks came in the first half of the season.

    Back on topic:  one of my lasting memories of this place comes from the early years.  We were subjected to a truly vile porn attack that went on for days.  At one point we had a bunch of mods on full-time deleting the stuff as soon as it posted.  That's one of the reasons we now have the 15 post rule.  My eyes have never recovered.  Pretty sure some of that was photoshopped.  Could not have been humanly possible.
