Attention everyone posting in this thread:

First, you were asked to ease up on the videos. Some of you don't seem to "get" that.

Second, and even more importantly, it has ALWAYS been against the rules to post random links and videos WITHOUT meaningful commentary. If you have something to discuss, fine, but no more random links and videos WITHOUT MEANINGFUL commentary. Either participate in a discussion or pack it in.

Please remember that since these are primarily football forums, we can disallow any this altogether.

People seem to forget the "vulgar" and "hateful" parts of that rule.

You also have to take into account the fact that some football players are really really really really dumb.

ESPN is reporting that Boldin says he has NOT been asked to restructure and he plans on playing for the Ravens.

Obviously the FO has more important reasons for cutting a guy like Boldin but I have to wonder if a side benefit of doing so isn't the FO's way of telling Flacco "you wanted to be the highest paid...this is what happens".

No. And Flacco structured his contract in such a way that this wasn't supposed to happen.

If the article from Rotoworld is correct and this is about cutting Boldin to keep Ellerbe...if you look at overall production and durability, and not from just this season, this seems like bad business decision to me. Once people realize that the MLB position isn't as important as it was when Lewis was here (strengthen the front seven), it just doesn't justify overpaying Ellerbe when there are viable, cheaper options in the draft. The last thing you would want to do is weaken the offense at this point at the expense of the defense, and I think Boldin's absence weakens the offense not only from losing a "clutch" player, but from a leadership and "coaching up" perspective. Glad I am not in Ozzie's shoes.

I think the issue is losing BOTH of our experience MLBs in one year as opposed to losing 1 experienced WR.

We also have holes to fill with draft picks and UDFAs.

I love Q and I really want him back. That being said, if someone else can be ALMOST as good for way less cap hit, then the writing is on the wall.

This is Ellerbe's first (and possibly only) chance at a big payday. As much as I'd like to keep him, if he gets offered megabucks by another team, I'll wish him well (except for when he plays us). He was instrumental in us making and winning the playoffs/Super Bowl.

Steelers RB Chris Rainey was arrested this morning on one account of simple battery. Apparently Rainey and his girlfriend were arguing over.... a cell phone? Yes apparently an argument over a cell phone led to Rainey pulling her out of the car and slapping her across her face with an open hand.
