I'll take this as confirmation:
@Ravens: #Ravens have OFFICIALLY reached a 3-year deal with WR Steve Smith!
A longer contract than I expected, but I'm happy nonetheless.
Signing bonus proration.
By officially, you mean completely not officially right?
It ain't official unless posted on our front page.
He did draw 11 penalties last year. That's a little ridiculous.
Might take some of the unfair heat off Oher. ;-)
I don't think any other fanbase would adopt Jacoby the way we have.
I like Jones, but the fact is, we're still overpaying for what is essentially a return specialist. Yes, he can make plays as a receiver, but he is not a #2 WR. Marlon Brown is more reliable as that, and we still need a slot guy, which Jacoby also isn't.
Since the Giants were offering him even more, I don't think we're overpaying.
The round he was taken in isn't really the issue. It's the 24 total career false starts, typically, in moments were pressure is on, moments that could have cost the team a win. He did better last year. But he isn't THAT good of a RT. You don't want anyone on the team that is a liability, and he is.
You need to review WHEN those false starts were since most of them were in his first two years. He has much improved. ALL of his false starts last year came in the same game, so that was possibly an officiating issue. He's a quality, durable tackle who does whatever is asked of him. We could do a lot worse.
Thought Jacoby Jones visiting the Giants today was a leverage play. Turns out, he turned down more money elsewhere to stay in Baltimore
So apparently Ozzie did not go above Jacoby's market value.
while I think an average of 3.5 is a bit high, the True value Lies in the signing bonus which isnt a lot. The only way he will see the 14 mil is if he is killing it with his returns. If not he's very cutable. At first glance it seems high, but its well structured and has an easy out if need be. And if its not needed, its likely hes earned every penny and is the leading return man the next 4 years or so.
That average includes incentives. His base contract is much less. I've read that more than $2 million is incentives, mostly tied to receptions.

CB Corey Graham agreed to a 4yr, $16 m deal with the #Bills, source confirmed
He may regret that.

@Ravens: Ravens have reached a 4-year agreement with WR Jacoby Jones. http://t.co/LsPQ5rGF8G
I love Manny, but his recent comments about being "disappointed" with a $519,000 salary plus a $100,000 bonus are, well, disappointing. He's already cashed a $5.5 million signing bonus check. He needs to be quiet and count his blessings.
He's too young to have learned to keep his mouth in check. He'll get some good advice and not be too honest again.
Monroe's first task: fire agent and hire Albert's
How on earth has he made that deal with the Dolphins? Almsot 2 million pery year more for a LT most experts deem worse than Monroe...
Actually, Monroe should kiss his agent. He got more guaranteed money than Albert.
@Ravens: There will be a press conference with LT Eugene Monroe tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. We'll carry it LIVE. http://t.co/adIlhKB1d6
Time to take it to the new thread

It would be nice to give Flacco a great young WR for a change and not always those old guys.
I think most QBs would choose a wily old vet.
@RavensInsider: Source says nothing imminent as far as a Rolando McClain comeback, called it "premature." Can always change later
ATTENTION! Reminder: game-related conversations are NOT to spill over into other threads. We've had to pull several already. Keep it here.
Still scoring. LOL!
@masnRoch: J.J. Hardy with 3-run HR, cause the #orioles can't stop scoring
20 runs yesterday and a whole bunch more so far today. Our first 3 batters scored.
Jah Reid arrested, charged with two misdemeanor charges of battery in Key West, according to Monroe County Sheriff's office
Another Raven arrested
There's a thread on this in Ravens Talk.
I'd like to make a suggestion. Instead of just posting a name, it would be very helpful to those of us who don't really keep up with other teams if you also posted the player's position and last/current team. Any other details such as age/experience would also be welcome.
I have seen it on Rotoworld in the link I provided.
I think Roroworld picked it up from Bleacher Report. Rumors get crazy this week each year. A few sites report a rumor and suddenly it's a "fact".
Reminder to everyone: be very careful what you believe before pen meets paper.
Here's the source of the report that Miami is looking at Albert: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1985713-miami-free-agent-scoop-dolphins-prefer-branden-albert-over-eugene-monroe-at-lt
It's Bleacher Report, for what that's worth.
I think the Os are going to be a lot of fun to watch again this year.
