  1. The only reason I could possibly want Manning to win would just be to prove Irsay wrong.
  2. Broncos moving the chains now.
  3. Definitely time for the lights to go out.
  4. Seahawks need another turnover. If Manning gets on a roll, it'll turn ugly fast.
  5. And eating everything in sight.
  6. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!
  7. In addition to the game rules: Please note that all regular forum rules apply. That means no profanity (or crudeness, etc.). Post politely and treat everyone with respect, no matter how angry you are. Limit posting of video and large pictures so that everyone has a quick page load. Keep discussions on-topic and within the designated thread(s) for the game. Do not let game-related communications "spill over" into other threads.
  8. Subtitle: wide-spread erroneous beliefs. Saw something in another thread earlier that I know to be widely believed, but untrue, got me thinking about starting this thread. Every day we see things in the forums that are just not true. I'll start with one that chaps me and I hope you will contribute more. Maybe we can fight ignorance together. Myth 1: Oher is a penalty machine/false starts every game. Truth: in 2013 Michael Oher was penalized a total of 6 times. Only 3 of those were false starts and they were ALL in the same game (possible officiating issue?). Oher had 4 false starts in 2012. In comparison, Yanda was penalized 7 times and 5 of those were false starts this past year. He has 3 false starts in 2012.
  9. Here's a shocker: Darren Sharper arrested in Los Angeles on suspicion of rape http://usat.ly/1e1R1Cl He's been suspended from NFL Network for now.
  10. All the players who filed for arbitration are signed except Wieters, and they're in negotiations with him. Looks like the Os opened the checkbook at last.
  11. If those reports are true, he should have his mouth washed out with soap.
  12. Thay quote tells me Castillo is capable of changing his ways when necessary.
  13. Kyle threw his own father under the bus. Not sure I would ever trust him.
  14. 6 Orioles file for arbitration: Slugger Chris Davis was among six Orioles players who filed for salary arbitration on Tuesday night, the first step toward settling on contracts for 2014. Catcher Matt Wieters and pitchers Tommy Hunter, Brian Matusz, Bud Norris and Troy Patton also filed, joining 140 other players from across the Major Leagues who are under team control, with less than six years of service time. The O's will exchange proposed salary figures with each player on Friday, and contract negotiations then can continue until a hearing. Those are scheduled between Feb. 1-21, although in most cases, the two sides settle on a deal -- in some cases even a multiyear agreement -- before then. In the event of a hearing, both parties present their case to a three-member panel of judges that weighs the arguments and chooses one of the two proposed salaries. Decisions are based on previous salaries awarded to players of similar service time and performance. Davis, Hunter, Norris and Wieters all are set to become free agents after the 2015 season and currently are in their second of three arbitration years. Each figures to receive a raise, especially Davis, who led the Majors with 53 home runs and 138 RBIs last year while making $3.3 million. Matusz and Patton also likely are in for a small salary boost as they enter their first year of arbitration.
  15. Apparently not. Looks like we've morphed into something else. It's more like "fact: my opinion is better than your opinion". Too bad people couldn't stick to the real facts so we all could learn something.
  16. "who lost the game" isn't fact. I think it's time to let it go and move on. The point was made that the defense wasn't all that some people want to believe (myth vs. fact). We all know the offense sucked...that IS fact.
  17. Gently, people.
  18. More sad, related facts from today's Late For Work: The Ravens defense set an “unwanted” team record by allowing 134 points in the fourth quarter, the most in team history. “It was strange to see the Ravens defense play solid for three quarters and fall apart when the team needed it the most,” Hensley wrote. “In the first three quarters, the Ravens had the sixth-best defense in the red zone (allowing touchdowns 48.4 percent of the time). In the fourth quarter, the Ravens had the fifth-worst defense inside the 20-yard line (66.7 percent).” [ESPN]
  19. Reminder: this is supposed to be "what kind" not "who".
  20. I think it takes a bit of time to research the facts, so that discourages people from posting the "buster" part.
  21. PLEASE keep the draft talk in the draft forum.
  22. Let us know when you get a reliable source.
  23. A REAL facts, please.
  24. Myth: the defense was worn out in the 4th quarter because the offense couldn't stay on the field. Fact: TOP was generally in our favor going into the 4th quarter and didn't shift until the defense gave up a long drive. Also fact: the overall TOP for the year was darn near even.
  25. And that's the purpose of this thread. We're trying to correct misconceptions.
