But they always found a way to be competitive, when sahin left everybody thought they will be much worse same thing with kagawa. They got 36 million for Götze, probably another 20 for Lewandowski, I believe Klopp will buy some great players with this money, someone like Eriksen, I would prefer De Bruyne but Mourinho doesn't want to sell himi wish someone would buy them, not to buy a tonne of players, but just to give them enough money that they don't have to sell every one. They aren't a rich club and they never will be if they keep selling their best players. Winning makes you rich, and they won't win when they sell their best player every year, ESP to their main rivals
One day they have to play the young guys, pirlo and buffon won't make it any longer and between those old guys and the new stars of sharawy and how they are called there's a big gap IMO not enough talent in betweenYou never no idea how frustrating it is to know the youth that's there but to not see it played. It's so annoying. I want to slap them sometimes.
They do like to play old players. It's annoying. It wasn't a problem back then but now it is. We've lost our best older players and then we have the problem of not cultivating our youth.
Exactly my point of view, actually like a lot of their current players, still don't like the country lolLol. I see, and a fair point. As to the other teams, I don't like France either, never have. And while I couldn't stand Germany before, I think they have turned it around and I really like some of the players there, and their playing style. So I'm not a hater against Germany anymore.
They definitly have some young talents in sharawy, balotelli, borini and so on, they just don't take them to the tournament, maybe they feel better playing with an average over 30 years lolThat's absolutely true. They're not flashy at all and that's a very fair criticism. It's one I put aside because of how much I love the team lol. I probably would be bored by their style if I wasn't such a fan but I am.
The truth is they are very talented but really need to get their youth involved. That's killed them in major tournaments in the past.
I think I hate the Azzurri even more lolI can't deny that but I really, really hate that team lol. I loved when my Azzurri beat them in their own country when they hosted.
They play this old school catenaccio style I can't watch this and the Serie A is ....
Lol me too, but the Germans build a great team and I actually enjoy watching the playI hate the Germans nearly as much as the French and Brazilians
I don't think so, they just don't have the depth and great playmaking ability of other countries IMO. Would be nice if they'd win it, thoughcan see Brazil taking the Conf Cup just 'cause they're home, would love Japan though lol
The u21 team of Spain is scary, they could win against some senior national teams. Isco, Thiago, Tello, Bartra, De Gea those are future all stars and they even have a guy named Muniain on the bench, that's crazy
For the confed cup I'd have to say Germany and Spain are the clear favorites. The Germans have such a strong team I think they are even better than Spain
they're just punks if you ask me
really, I was just glad when I recently read that Wilsheres dream was to captain England and Arsenal, I was like at least someone who enjoys playing for his country
yack Stoke yack
haha favorite team right?
Like arnie said, countries like Spain and Germany have simply done a better job at developing their players from the youth for over a decade now. Still, it's not as if England completely lacks play-makers. Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott, Daniel Sturridge, Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain, Aaron Lennon, Ashley Young and others can all create relatively well but injuries and inconsistency have all prevented them reaching the heights of their Spanish and German counterparts to this point. Th national team's mind-numbing style of play doesn't do them any favors either.
Just like I said to arnie, I think the BPL is the biggest problem because big clubs dont want to wait and develop their youth players anymore and why should they, Abramovich and the ManCity owner dont care what it costs they just wanna win
Thats the next thing, I remember reading months ago that English players dont want to play for their national team anymore, I mean really?? Whats wrong with that, I would love to represent my country, I really don't get that at all
Technical ability. We just aren't as good on th3 ball. Passing range skills etc. Starts with the coaching. In Spain when your very young the teach triangles passing angles encourage beating a man. Here its more geared to being tight at the back. More old school type coaching. They can't develop youth as well. Its why England always have good defenders but struggle with flair guys. Even Rooney isnt a flair type player. They just are brought up in a different style. Just look at the goal keeper's. De gea could play outfield for most teams his passing is exquisite. Whereas English keepers smash the balls 60 yards up field to target men like crouch and Carroll
Ok I see, a team like Stoke lol
But some years ago you had those great playmaking CM who could make every pass to everybody, guys like Beckham, Lampard and Gerrard, nowadays I don't see one on your national team that can fill those shoes if Lampard and Gerrard retire for good, maybe Wilshere if he can get over his ankle problem, and IMO that can't be because of your philosophy because it didn't really change still you dont have those great midfielders anymore.
I think it has a lot to do with the BPL itself, top clubs don't want to wait and develop their youth players. the BPL is such a huge league, every player wants to play there and the big clubs willing to spend a lot of money like Chelsea, ManU and ManCity just buy already developed players from Brazil, Portugal, Belgium, Spain, Germany, France and really don't care about their youth players and just give them on loan to somebody in the championship
Hey guys I just have a quick question, I grew up admiring UK Football, especially English Football, Club and National Team. I loved to watch guys like Beckham, Giggs, Shearer, Scholes, Neville and nowadys guys like Rooney, Carrick, Wilshere, Lampard, Gerrard, but over the last couple of years English Football seems to kind of "slow down".
When I started watching Football on a regular basis, about ten years ago, everybody was raving about English Football how they owned every other club in the Champions League, but over the last years Spanish and German club and national team football seems to have taken over from the UK. I just wanted to get a perspective from someone in the UK having more knowledge of their football about what they think happened over the years
I still think the BPL is by far the best league in the world, but there aren't as many top notch talents from the UK as there used to be IMO
Vienna, Austria(not Australia) it is a neighboring country of Germany in the south
