  1. We will be doing this.

the only problem - I was looking through teams salary cap - is that you propably can't get the Cowboys under the cap, because players like Romo have more dead money than cap figure which will result in them being even more over the cap and even if you manage to somehow get them under the cap you won't have much players left. As owners can't restructure contracts we may need some additional rule

  2. you can always let graham go and also cut romo? lol...

Under my suggestion you cant because the dead money romo has outweighs his cap figure and you therefore wouldn't save any money

His Cap Figure is 21.5 while his dead money is 41.5 stars so cutting him would result in you paying extra 20 stars. if you take my suggestion into account

  3. Wow....... I would agree with this 100%. I never understood why we haven't took dead money into account before but I think this is what we have been needing to prevent the wacky trades and cuts that we have seen in this game. It would def make you think twice about cutting a player or trading for a player taking all this into account.

This would also be inline with what actually happens in the NFL.

I agree, some of those crazy trades wouldn't happen anymore

On the other side I just discovered, as we cannot restructure any contracts, that teams like the Cowboys or the Saints are almost impossible to manage because they are 26 and 15 million over the cap...  maybe some additional rule regarding those teams

  4. I want to make a suggestion regarding a rule change, which also could help members decide which team they want to take

The rules say, if I read that correctly, that if you cut a player Total Savings=Base Salary

    For example:

If the Ravens owner cuts Haloti Ngata, he would save his base salary which equals 8.5 stars

In my opinion it would be more realistic if we take 2014 Cap Hits site from Spotrac, in this case for the Ravens(which would look like this: http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/baltimore-ravens/cap-hit/ ) and take as the total savings, the cap figure(last column) - dead money (second to last) which would result, for Haloti Ngata, in 1 star, which is the amount the Ravens would save for him

    Total Savings=Cap Figure-Dead Money

Another example, if the Ravens owner would cut Joe Flacco he would save -23 stars, because the dead money (38) outweighs the cap figure (15). Instead of the 6 stars the owner would save if we keep the Total Savings=Base Salary.

For trades I would use the same system with the (again the Ngata example) previous owner of Ngata saving 1 star and the new owner only spending 1.

If I didnt understand the rule right or read something wrong, I apologize for you guys reading all this and wasting your time just because I am kinda stupid lol

  5. What do guys think about Group D (England, Italy, Uruguay, Costa Rica)?  Another crazy draw.

Great Group, propably the toughest group to predict.

England and Italy sort of lost their spark in recent years with their superstars getting up there in age or already in retirement and they couldn't develop their next stars

Uruguay have a great attack, maybe even the best in the tournament, with red hot Suarez, Cavani and Forlan, those guys are deadly in front of goal and run like crazies for 90 minutes

Costa Rica is probably the odd team out

    My prediction would be:

Uruguay and England to advance with Italy losing out on goal difference to England.

Maybe a bold prediction but that's how I see it develop

  6. Love this arsenal team right now. If everybody is healthy we have a great midfield, just think about Özil, Cazorla, Ramsey, Arteta, Wilshere(regaining his old form), Rosicky even Flamini provides great defensive work.

I agree we need a second striker, Giroud can't play the whole season and Akpom clearly is too young

I am impressed by what Gnabry showed when he started, can't wait for Zelalem in the Cup

For ManU I think Moyes is a good manager but still needs some time to build his system. Look at Guardiola it took him some time to adjust Bayern to his style, it worked out faster but they also got better players, especially in the midfield than ManU.

I wouldn't worry about them just yet, in my opinion they will be a force again in the near future

  7. Agreed. Hopefully, a striker and DM and/or CB are secured in January. I downplayed the return of Flamini before but he could actually be a positive signing.

If Flamini keeps playing like he did against Tottenham, I can't see Wenger buying a defensive minded player, especially if Vermaelen comes back strong, although he is injury prone. I can see a striker, would have liked Ba, but Mou is not selling to rivals

If he goes down though do you even have anymore strikers?

Walcott would probably play CF with Özil and Cazorla on the flanks

  8. he's quite good, really young and promising - i think they got themselves a steal; his previous team won the league after a good few years and qualified to the Champions league groups with him coordinating their game

Nice one, as a CB he will have a chance to play a decent amount of games, Verthongen and Dawson looked shaky today. Maybe he'll even start as soon as next game

  9. Agreed Ramsey's current form and Wilshere going forward.

Spurs certainly got a bargain for Eriksen. Not that Arsenal needed to spend the kind of money Tottenham has splashed this summer but again, it's just sad that they can land a gifted play-maker in Eriksen this late while Wenger re-signs Mathieu Flamini. At best, I see tomorrow's game being a 2-2 draw.

I've heard rumours we're about to sign Bergkamp lol

  10. So it's the day of the North London Derby can't wait for it. I certainly hope for the best but we'll have to wait and see...

Agreed on Tottenham signing great players with the money they get from Bale, but I'm still angry that they got Eriksen for just 11m. One of my favorite players to Tottenham for 11m...

  11. Good to see the Gunners secure their Champions League spot comfortably. Been really pleased with the start Aaron Ramsey has had as well. For as much hype as Wilshere gets, Ramsey been the better player from the end of last season to now.

Rambo's playing great at the moment, he had great games at the end of last year and carried it over to this year. I agree that, at the moment, Ramsey is way better than Jack, he may very well be our best player right now, but IMO Wilshere has so much upside he was just phenomenal/brilliant what ever you want to call it before his injury. It will take some time to get back to 100% especially suffering an ankle injury, but I am hopeful Wilshere returns to form

And I've read that the Spurs agreed a, hold on, 11m fee for Eriksen... really? 11m? Eriksen is worth so much more. I'd be pissed if Tottenham snatches him up

  12. Couldn't watch the Fenerbache game but I liked Arsenal yesterday against Fulham, they played quite good, nothing special but they got the W

they still have to buy a defensive midfielder and some CB

And I watched Villa (my second favorite team) and I really like their new signings. Okore is a physical, strong but offensive minded CB, Bacuna played really well, he was all over the pitch and Tonev brought some pace from the flank

  13. I remember Leverkusen turning down an Arsenal bid for Bender early in the month. It would be interesting if the interest in him was renewed. Agreed on the kind of player Wenger currently appears to value as his holding MF. I didn't study the game quite as much when he was playing as much as I do now, but I don;t remember Gilberto Silva being that exceptional a passer during his heyday. Still, he was arguably the last Gunner holding MF who not only brought steel in the middle but played with his head. As good a player as Song developed into before leaving, he was prone to mental lapses.

There's certainly a lot to like about Rooney but I'm just not a fan.

Falcao at Arsenal would obviously be sweet but Benteke is the the striker I would have loved to see Wenger pursue this summer.

Bender would be nice, he's a strong big bodied kid still young and more polished offensively than his brother Sven. I can't comment on Silva I wasn't following football closely at that time, but before Song left he was great a bit too agressive considering his yellow cards during the first half of a game, but he won most of his challenges and developed into a great passer. I read somewhere that he was upset with Wenger that he exclusively played defensive midfield because he wanted to be more in an attacking role, maybe that explains his mental lapses.

Totally forgot about Benteke but he certainly would be a nice addition, he played great for a rather weak Villa squad last year and played a part in 60% of Villas goals last year

  14.

While I'm not expecting Wenger to buy much, it would be insane not to even if Suarez was brought in. The lack of steel in mid-field (a yearly issue) and quality depth along the back line, as well as someone to challenge Szczesny are all necessities. I'm not too fussed on either Williams and Fellaini, especially when you consider the numerous cheaper alternatives. I really don't want Rooney.

IMO it would be insane too, I heard rumours that Lars Bender is linked with Arsenal but he won't come cheap either and I think Wenger rather wants a player who shows good positioning and work ethic along with good passing in the defensive midfield position than a big guy who wins balls but is just an average passer. I know you are not with me on this lol but Rooney may very well be my favorite striker, he is a great finisher, gives everything to win and works everywhere, he just doesn't slow down, but ManU said they won't sell him to a Premier League team so whatever

And what just struck my mind, think about it, we will most likely pay more than 50 mil for Suarez, Falcao went for 51 to Monaco could you imagine him at Arsenal? I know he gets an awful lot of money per week from Monaco which Wenger wouldn't have paid but just think about it lol
