  1. He wasn't good last year, but at the very least he should be better in a 4-3....

I do need a safety now though

IMO he's a bit underappreciated a bit like Darryl Smith used to be, not flashy against the pass, but a great one when it comes to stuffing the run. And he is much much better in the 4-3, the only reason the Texans traded him to the Eagles some years ago

  2. Ok just so I'm clear on this. For example, Mark Sanchez.

    Cap Figure = $13,100,000

    Dead Money = $4,800,000

    Total Savings = $8,300,000

Is that correct? Also how would we round these numbers?

    Yes

I don't now if we just round the product or also Dead Money and Cap Figure

I guess we just round the end product which would be 8.5 stars for you

If we round Dead Money and Cap Figure too, you would only save 8 stars (Cap Figure = 13 stars; Dead Money = 5 stars)

  3. Not on the 'post June 1st cut'.

Their dead money tab looks to be tabulated correctly, at least on the Vikings'.  Henderson's workout bonus isn't included in dead money, so it's probably safe to use that in all cases for simplicity.  But it gets more complicated if you're using the extra cut.

I don't want to go in depth because I am not 100% sure what those post June 1st cuts are, but I think SAM or someone from the CoCo said that we had one "post June 1st cut" for free where we can just cut someone and write off his base salary

Again Suggs is a unique example because his Base Salary = Cap Figure - Dead Money

Again I am not so sure about this post June 1st cut thing

  4. Can someone explain to me how we are doing cap hits with trades and cuts.

    for example:

Terrell Suggs (2014 cap year on spotrac): He has 7.8 M base, 4.6 M other bonus, 4.6 M dead = 12.4 total cap figure

--so if cut/traded would it be a 7.8M (or 8 star) saving?? how are we using other bonuses, dead, and signing bonuses in these calculations?

You have one cut available in which you can just write off the players base salary. Other than that you are just calculating the whole Cap Figure (last column) minus the dead money (all can be seen on this site: http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/baltimore-ravens/cap-hit/ ) which equals what you save for that player. Suggs is kind of a unique example because his base salary equals the cap figure minus dead money. For example for Ngata you would just save 1 star

  5. That is an interesting point.. The Cowboys are really the only team in that kind of predicament though so maybe some kind of exception can be made for them. I think hey could still make it under the cap, but it would require cutting almost the entire team.

The Saints are 15 stars over the cap, maybe also candidates. but 15 could be manageable, IMO
