  1. Hoping to get to American Hustle this week.  Didn't realize it wasn't in wide release last week when I wanted to go.  Stupid small markets.

I am hearing really good things about it and apparently all of the actors were perfectly cast.  Also the director was the same director for The Fighter and Silver Linings Playbook, both which were movies where one of their leads took home an Oscar that year.

  2. Saw Django Unchained the other night. Great movie, Jamie Foxx is a badass and Christoph Waltz is hilarious. It's going to be a bloodfest much like how you saw tons of bloodspray in Kill Bill. Dicaprio pulls off being one rat [profanity deleted] of a "gentleman" and you will hate Samuel L. Jackson's character, Steve.

It had a great story, and for once the previews did not give away the entire movie. In fact, the details of the story are much different than what you would have guessed:

The previews make it sound like it was the Brittle Bros. who took off with Django's wife and they're going to go hunt all of them down to find her. Nope, they find the Brittle Bros. early on and get that out of the way, but they still go find his wife, who is owned by Calvin Candie (Decaprio's character)

Anyway, it's a good movie though one or two scenes will also make you cringe, and they throw around the N word a lot so if that offends you, you might want to find something else to watch.

  3. Saw The Hobbit last night. I enjoyed the movie on its own merits. I'm sure if I could remember all the details of the book I might have a slightly different opinion, but still. I loved the meeting between Gandalf and Galadriel because their dialogue to foreshadow LOTR was flawless. Some of the appearances surprised me, I wasn't expecting to see Frodo but it was a nice touch.

  4. I saw Skyfall yesterday, great movie, there's one problem I had with it.

Why the hell would MI6 be dumb enough to not have an isolated system that is not connected to the regular network for cracking computer encryptions? If they did but Q didn't bother to plug into it, fire his [profanity deleted].

Yes, I know it was probably needed for the story and all, but damn if that wasn't a basic computer security slipup.

Otherwise it's definitely worth a look.

  5. I saw Wreck-It Ralph the other day and it lived up to my expectations. I will say that you'll enjoy the video game references in the beginning but they do go away and instead you get a good original story. I wasn't expecting a twist that happened in it. Also it's appropriate for the kids.

Just be warned, if you sit through the credits, you WILL get the J-Pop song for Sugar Rush stuck in your head

  6. "Flight" with my man Denzel Washington looks like a really good flick... also looking forward to "SkyFall" next week.

Speaking of James Bond, what do you think about Idris Elba a.k.a. "Stringer" Bell taking over for Daniel Craig? I think he could be really good.

I think that would just increase my man-crush on him.

  7. It might not have been better than the first.. but you can't knock it

I will give you that if it was its own movie with an original character, it would have been better than it turned out. However, Rob trying to create a reboot of the Halloween series and removing one of the major things that made Michael Myers so scary completely ruined it for me.
