  1. Saw The Force Awakens a few weeks ago, and the BF and I loved it.  He being the bigger Star Wars nerd means there has been a lot of hashing of possible ideas of what is going to happen next.

I still wonder if Finn has some low-level force abilities. He figured out that lightsaber way faster than most people would have done. We expect the second movie is going to have two stories running in parallel, similar to Empire. Rey is going to be training with Luke while Finn and others are involved in action against the First Order. I expect more piloting from Finn and maybe further infiltration, depending on if he went anywhere else during his original training. I still hate that Han got killed now because I don't think we are going to see some badass flying stunts. I was both stunned and cheering when he came out of hyperspace right above the planet. It was crazy and shouldn't have worked, but he made it work, and I don't think anyone else right now could pull it off.

I also saw Spectre the other night.  I think it's going to be Daniel Craig's final Bond film, even though he is apparently under contract for a fifth movie.  However, with the way they ended it they could easily bring in a new Bond.  I love the new Moneypenny and the fact that she is not the "I'm just going to sit here quietly at my desk and swoon over Bond" type.  They seem to be going the direction of updating the old Fleming novels and making them fit in modern times, but I kind of want to see a more original story for the next film.  Unfortunately I know how much that can be screwed up when the writers seem to abandon the good framework *cough*Die Another Day*cough*

  2. Is it just me or do we have fake charges like this come up every few years?  Someone claims they were sending banned substances to NFL players, then end up taking back their story because it starts to fall apart under scrutiny.  Remember we had our own controversy in 2012 with that guy claiming that he sold HGH via "Deer Antler Spray" to Ray Lewis, then he backed off his story during the SB media week.

As much as I dislike Manning, he doesn't strike me as the kind who would cheat like that.

  3. With the news that the Browns "are done" with Manziel, the current speculation is that he will end up in Dallas because he wants to go to Dallas and because Jerry Jones has a serious man-crush on the dude after the way he played in college.

Personally I really hope he doesn't go to Dallas because that's just rewarding his bad behavior.  He's made it pretty clear he wanted to play for a Texas team and he didn't want to be in Cleveland.  Heck, part of me hopes no team wants to deal with him because of how poisonous he has been so far, but I know someone out there will be desperate enough to snatch him up.  I just hope it isn't Dallas or even Houston.

  4. I admit I don't have entirely good feelings about this game. Palmer often had our number when he was on the Bengals and the Card's Pass defense is looking good.  Maybe Forsett has an amazing running game this week, but still, this is going to be rough sailing on Monday night.

  5. I have a friend who drives for Lyft in Phoenix and he enjoys it, he has had nothing but good things to say about the company itself.

As for the passengers?  Well, about 95% of them have been good, but it's the other 5% that can suck.  He's had to have his car detailed due to drunk and puking passengers, though Lyft does make them pay a fee.  There are some who have just been jerks, but that's the risk you take driving for either service.

The other reason I wouldn't use Uber is they've been busted for encouraging their employees to call for one of their competitors and then cancel the rides at the last minute since it keeps that driver busy without actually making money, then they start poaching customers

  6. I would question the logic of signing him at this point but that has more to do with his on the field performance.  However, I'm in the "He's done his time" camp and he has kept out of trouble since then.  If we were to sign him, I would also have to create a list on Facebook just for posting about the Ravens and leave certain people I know off.  Otherwise every time I posted about the Ravens, I would have to hear from them about how Vick is a dog-killer and by proxy I am a terrible person for supporting the Ravens because they have Michael Vick on them.

  7. Follow your passion and the money will follow you!

Working on it! Problem is most of my interviews have been "well you should really have Security+" or most of the job listings are "well you should have X years security experience in programs x, y, and z, already" to which I say "Dude, when I started, most people thought a password was good enough for computer security and that a firewall was only to slow down a fire so that everyone could evacuate."

  8. I had to look twice at the story - was sure it was from the Onion or something. Crazy stuff.

That was me as well.  Still sucks to have your jaw broken in two places.

Apparently though this isn't the first time Enemkpali has punched someone out:  From http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000508631/article/geno-smith-out-610-weeks-after-being-punched-in-jaw

He was suspended from the Louisiana Tech team in 2011 following an arrest for punching an off-duty police officer.

  9. Worth a coffee break read. Not everyone in Boston believes Brady.

I wonder if he'll get fired for that.

After seeing that and what another columnist said: https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2015/07/28/tom-brady-and-patriots-have-acted-guilty-all-along/JW0mEOfodcTXbFtv1h2sGN/story.html?p1=Article_InThisSection_Bottom

I suspect the Boston Globe will not be getting press passes to the Patriots locker room this year

    Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha :popcorn drama:

If the league basically did hand Brady the gun and ammo to shoot himself in the foot, well then yes Brady and Kraft really are that dumb.  However, I don't know that the league would have wanted to do that in the first place because Brady and the Patriots are basically their golden boys of "See, the NFL is great and wonderful and we have great teams that never do anything wrong!"

  11. Came across a press release at work about the new Lexus RC F, which connects to the driver and picks up their heartbeat's electrical signals. Those signals then get fed to panels in the car's shell and the paint lights up to match the driver's heartbeat.

    That is beyond cool.

How long until someone discerns the pattern to know when the driver is getting *ahem* *coughcough* :P
