I am pretty sure that every offseason this fan base has this exact same discussion. It's amusing. Every positive you can say about each player, you can nitpick negatives out also.

Until they prove it on the field, nothing can be said about the group as a whole.

True, but I think you'll find this year there is a little more "on paper, we..." kind of talk. You're spot-on though, every year this happens.

  2. They will be used together a lot in the Broncos game. Trestman used a ton of 2TE sets and Juice on the preseason. Obviously he didn't wanna show much but i think 2TE will be a huge part of the offense. Remember Kubes wanted to do thia but couldn't once Pitta went down. Gilmore just wasn't really ready to be a huge part of the offense early but we started to see what he could do towards the end.

I've said this plenty and we will start to see it on Sunday but Trestman is maybe the perfect OC to maximize the talents of each guy on this offense and similar to the Pats the Ravens will for teams to gameplan for more then just one style of offense. This week i think it'll be the TEs, RBs and Juice featured a lot to attack their OLBs and Safeties. Of course the WRs will have their opportunities but i think Maxx and Gilmore more be double X factors.

I agree.  I see something similar to what NE did on Thursday, a bit of just throwing  it around.  Obviously, we'd be hard-pressed to get the same results, as Gronk is, well, Gronk.  I see a lot of short stuff, and I have a good feeling about Joe, which feels unnatural.

  3. great news on jernigan..im a bit more optimistic now..it will still be a struggle but this guy is a game changer.

if we get interior push it changes a lot

My thoughts exactly, Sami.  Before he was injured, I was already thinking he was the key to this one.  Being under center requires quite a bit more mobility than it seems, and they have an unproven, young o-line.  Having Peyton under center in Kubes' system, with an on Jernigan, and it has potential to be somewhat comedic.  Like, screw the system, I'll calling audibles all night kind of funny.  Ahhhh, one can dream...

  4. If Melvin doesn't play, the Ravens are one play away from possibly having Walker or Brooks or Levine in a 3rd CB role. Hard to believe Peyton wouldn't immediately attack any of those guys upon entering the game. If Melvin is ruled as doubtful, you gotta wonder if Asa Jackson will be promoted for DB depth.

I think they're going to get chewed up pretty badly, either way.  I have a feeling that Jimmy is going to have a bit of a statement game.  But the others...  Still think we pull it off, but we'll need a mistake to do it, I think.  Toss up game in my head.  So hard to call, too many unknowns.

  5. Good grief.

i just think they are a really bad matchup for us.

Missing it by choice. Not in the mood for a 38-12 game.

I think they have a better pass rush..a better secondary a better receiving core etc.

there is something about marc trestman i don't trust too..i feel he's a vastly overrated coach .

  6. i dont see jernigan being a deciding factor in this game.

He absolutely would be, if 100%.  They're obvious glaring issue is the O-Line.  Whether or not it really is an issue for them, well, no one knows until gametime, but on paper that is the opportunity.  Jernigan pretty much camps out in the backfield when he's 100%.  Under the Kubes system, Peyton is spending more time than ever under center, and that requires a bit of mobility and quickness to drop back and allow longer plays to develop.  Pressure up the middle on that is key, and Jernigan is a stud on that. Ughhh.  I wish he was 100%, and can only hope that they are being overly cautious with him and playing a bit of gamesmanship on the injury reports.  lol

  7. Also in Denver... Do you get the feeling there's a lot less hype this year than there has been since Manning came along?

Funny how that blind optimism was wrecked in both 2012 and 2013.

Yeah, they're really nervous about how poor Manning looked in the pre-season in the new system.  Meh.  That's Peyton Manning, he'll be okay in any system.  But, yes.  I do feel like there's a bit of apprehension around here.  Fine by me.  Have to listen to Big Al and DMac on the radio talk trash all this week.  ;)

  8. Peyton gets rid of the ball quickly. The oline will present issues in other ways(the running game will probably be exposed). D.Thomas and Sanders both pose issues but I'm not really scared of Daniels or Anderson.

That defense is going to give us fits.

I live out here in Denver, and you're absolutely right.  Peyton get rid of the ball stupid-fast.  That's why I was so bummed out when Jernigan went down.  He's the self-sack king of the  NFL.  Pressure through the middle gives him fits, and Jernigan has been camping out there pretty much every healthy game he has played recently.  Ughhhh....

  9. I mentioned it in one of the threads but its the Bengals they get away with everything. Gresham being 3 yds downfield and calling Suggs offsides tackling 3 guys outside of the 3 yd wide white area ripping FLacco's helmet off when other QBs get touched with one finger and get roughing calls. Finally Torrey getting mugged and no call either PI or defenseless WR but what do I know

Flacco had tucked the ball.  He's considered a runner at that point, I think.
