  1. Agree with you on Pitta. I have the same feeling since the SSS spot was taken by Morgan. If Pitta was giving signs he'd return and the team felt he could do it they wouldn't have signed Morgan. Now, if in one week Pitta stays, someone has to go. How Pitta exits, however will be complex from salary and cap stand point.
  2. Actually I believe he is within the three week evaluation period where they need to decide to add him to the roster or put him on IR. If they add him, someone has to go. Remember Urban is also ready. Same thing. If he comes on someone else goes.
  3. I've said it before. If he can come back and not make it worse he should. He needs the experience. He can't be a rookie next year.
  4. Dude has a bye week to figure it out. Probably will write a mathematical formula that perfects the ball rotation, grip, and trajectory on a shot gun snap revolutionizing the center position.
  5. If healthy I thought there would be a chance he'd come back. With this injury at his age sadly I don't see it. Starting now he'd have to work his butt off to make it by the regular season and it would be close. We know he has the mental and physical toughness to get it done but his mind was already thinking this was the end.
  6. Forget Elam and even Arthur Brown from that draft class. We can admit they aren't what we'd expect. However that class also gave us Brandon Williams, Kyle Juszczyk, Rick Wagner, and Kapron Lewis-Moore who are all making an impact.
  7. But Trestman has been driving that car through OTAs, Mini-camp, Camp, Pre-season, and 7 games into the season. He knows exactly how it works. I don't believe all the parts are working properly. It won't drive well when you have a high-performance engine, strong frame, a racing tire on one side, and a bunch of low budget tires everywhere else. How far can we take the car analogy, lol?
  8. SSS was supposed to be on a reduced snap count yet he's on a career trajectory. Maybe NEXT year he can be on a reduced snap count and still be around to mentor the guys who get to stay and the guys Ozzie picks up in his do over at WR. But if he decides to stick to his retirement plans I personally will applaud him for it and for giving us Raven's fans two great years.
  9. Well if there is a bright side, it doesn't look like a lot of teams will be putting Trestman on their short list of head coaching vacancies. We may actually have an OC for more than one year. Just need to give him something to work with. I don't like the Steelers but they sure have found a way to stack playmakers at RB and multiple at WR.
  10. I agree. I also think Perriman could use as much playing time as possible this year, This was supposed to be his year to get aclimated to the NFL. He'll have to do that in whatever playing time he can get. A second year first round pick should be a playmaker. Same frankly for Maxx. He needs to see the field as much as possible then hit the weight room in the offseason.
  11. Lol. Tom Brady as Voldemort. Funny stuff.
  12. Which is why he needs to be cut post June 1 and THEN retire. Just needs to make sure he plans his exit with the Ravens properly.
  13. This is a good point and a valid question. What was the Ravens identity last year? Killer run defense and sack monsters. Consistent offense. You can argue losing Suggs, Ngata, and McPhee erased that identity on defense but what about the offense? How did it go from priding itself in efficiency, to one that has no life? Its a coaching issue again.
  14. @Mom Gene. The offense does put up 20-30 points per game, sometimes its not pretty but that's ok, it's Raven football. Problem is the defense is allowing 25-35 point per game. If we can't blame injuries and we are saying it is not a lack of leadership, the only thing left is coaching. Actually I believe it is both. Pees says to generate QB pressure it takes more guys than it took last year. That puts more on the secondary full of journeymen who can't keep up. However Pees also said the defense is inconsistent. That is 100% a coaching issue.
  15. As far as injuries are concerned the issue is depth. Injuries can be dealt with if there is decent depth. At RB and on the D-line depth has been pretty good. At offensive tackle and OLB, not that good. In the secondary and at WR it is horrible. Next man up would work if next man up didn't drop off so dramatically from the starter.
  16. Ray Lewis's view of what Ray Lewis did for Ravens gets bigger every year. Love the guy but it is annoying to hear him constantly talk about how Raven's leadership today doesn't match what he did. Ravens of the past had down years too when he was in his prime. I partially agree with him, but he should let others say it. I also believe there are some insurmountable problems beyond leadership.
  17. I bet Maxx gets on a training program this offseason and puts on some mass and becomes more durable. Only question is he enough of a pro, meaning disciplined enough, to motivate himself to work that hard when unsupervised by Ravens staff. Also, I'm beginning to have a sinking feeling that Perriman is soft. No mental or physical toughness required for this level. The scope weeks ago showed no additional damage...why is he not running?
  18. Loved it! Hilarious. This has quickly become one of my favorite series on this site.
  19. "Also remember they traded away Ngata" True. I did forget Ngata. Ngata was mostly a run stuffer and while no one is Ngata (not even Ngata in Detroit) other guys stepped up as evidenced by the relative high ranking run defense.
  20. I love my team but 9 of the 12 draft picks (rds 1-4, last three years) were defense. Those rounds are supposed to be difference makers. The defense shouldn't be this bad. Is it bad drafting or bad coaching?
  21. Realistically the Ravens only lost Daniels and T. Smith on offense. Daniels production has been replaced by the young TEs. I refuse to believe that the offense gets bad losing only T. Smith. The only other change was the OC. I start to look there. On D, which easily has greater problems than the O, I can see up to a point how losing McPhee and Suggs has taken away pressure/sacks putting more work on the secondary. But the secondary for the most part are the starters. The 1st team are getting torched. The only other change there was losing Spags. In my opinion you put Trestman and Weiss on the block with Pees walking up the steps. This isn't Ravens football.
  22. Where the heck is Perriman? News just vanished. Its too late now to help the team but this is when the rookies and young guys will start to get more reps so next year isn't a huge adjustment. He needs to get experience.
  23. I am a huge Ravens fan but I'm not excited about the team anymore THIS year. These guys have promise but their impact will be future years realistically. We just don't have the play makers this year and this team seems to lack the angry, sense of urgency it needs...except Smith Sr.
  24. This offense lost Torrey Smith and Owen Daniels. Gilmore does Daniels job just fine, maybe better. I find it had to believe losing Smith affects the offense this much. So....I have to look at the OC.
  25. Come on guys. Justin Tuck. Not TuckER. Editing has been getting sloppy lately. Glad Taliafero is back. Buck looked good too. I have a feeling there is something fishy going on with Perriman. Truth will come out eventually.
