  1. Sean Penn is basically Hollywood royalty now, and like Bill Murray and Jack Nicholson can get away with doing whatever he wants.
  2. Looper and Dredd were both far better than I was expecting. Madagasgar 3 is fantastic.
  3. I mean the producers were nervous about an Smith and Cameron kissing and how audiences would react.
  4. I don't want to go so far as to say "our" leading ladies etc, I just want to see a natural equilibrium where the best actor and actress get the role regardless of race, and if happens to be a black male and white female they don't treat it differently and don't recast. I remember a few years ago Will Smith said the other lead in Hitch was supposed to go to Cameron Diaz but instead was given to Eva Mendez (not that I would complain either way) because they were nervous about kissing scenes.
  5. Not really, initially I thought it was poor character development that would start to expand only it didn't and started exposing patterns and old stereotypes, but I don't really care anymore. I can't really speak on that play. Sorry, I wasn't specific, when I said "romantic scenes" I meant more than meaningful stares and batted eyelashes. 100 Rifles might be close, but Welch is mixed and google tells me she plays a Native American so it doesn't really break the golden rule. But that's beside the point, it's only one example. It is what it is.
  6. That's ideal but a tall order, Hollywood seems innocent but there is an undercurrent with very specific rules for how things are conducted when it comes to race, even when the film doesn't approach the subject. When was the last time you saw Denzel Washington or Will Smith share romantic scenes with a white female lead? thats just one example in one long laundry list. I accept these things for what they are but it doesn't mean I have to like it. As for Spike? he's a hypocrite and just comes off bitter, I don't buy for a second that race is the issue for him.
  7. Well it's not a typical white people helping passive black people movie (made by white people for white people) so in that sense it could be seen as somewhat empowering, but it's still hard to sign off on the issue of slavery and its interpretation by white filmmakers.
  8. Why stop there? by all means enlighten me on what black people should find racist. Mili is his own man and doesn't speak for me.
  9. We are now friends for life.
  10. I was enjoying Walking Dead until I noticed the interchangeable token black guys, and then there was Homeland which quickly devolved into trash. Banshee looks like it might be decent, from the creators of Six Feet Under and Trueblood.
  11. I have mixed feelings on Django Unchained, it's just crazy and well made (usually my kind of movie) but it just comes off like Quentin wanted to get all the N words out of his system. 7/10
  12. I hope they revisit the LotR trilogy and redo all of the CGI and clean up some of the editing, it hasn't aged too well especially when you compare the action sequences to The Hobbit.
  13. I don't know what it is but her looks are fading, she went from a 9.6 to a 7.0 in the span of three years.
  14. Lets hope Ryblack is part of the Shield. I don't have high hopes for anyone called up to jump Cena, he's a career killer.
  15. I dunno man, it seems like a classless attempt at cashing in on a horrible tragedy that affected millions of people. I think people would be pretty offended if some Thai movie mogul made a huge 9/11 movie and only cast Thai actors.
  16. You should really watch this
  17. Have you guys seen Hanna or The American? I like the European style, I'm getting so used to Hollywood films I'm starting to predict things. Building suspense, action sequences, plot twists etc are just really cookie cutter these days.
  18. I saw RocknRolla a few years ago, I only remember it for Kebble and the always reliable Mark Strong. Layer Cake and Gangster #1 are pretty good too.
  19. That match with Sheamus and Cesaro was the best match I've seen since MITB 2011. They need to pair Cesaro with Sandow and let Rhodes do his own thing.
  20. Vince is probably waiting for him to get over, Ziggler getting the MITB rub was probably a gamble with the hope that something switches on for him. Personally I think he's more than held his own without Vickie as his crutch. He's 32 so it's now or never.
  21. So I watched Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch (subtitles on) and they're basically the same movie.
  22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iU0dpXLXEOY
  23. Well Big E. langston should have had Reigns spot and Ohno with Rollins spot.
  24. Just some thoughts on the three NXT guys who keep jumping Ryback, Rollings is the indy darling and Reigns is Rocks cousin but neither is good on the mic, all they have is a great look.
