Fact: Since winning the super bowl, in the past 4 years, Flacco hasn't finished in the top ten for qb rating- yet, Ozzie made him the highest paid qb, and then for God knows what reason then restructured Flacco's contract recently and gave him even more money.. Flacco isn't elite, but he sure is being paid like one. And his buddy Pitta might not be around next year because his cap number is high, so in a way, Flacco is not doing his buddy, pitta, any favors next year because we still don't have a lot of cap space, and we might not be able to afford pitta anymore..
Why can't we get a draft pick like Zeke Elliot? someone like Tyreek Hill? Xavier Rhodes? Marcus Peters? Why can't we give rookies opportunities and see what they got? I understand practice is important, but there are a lot of players who practice poorly, but shine in a real game. Our main issue has been an OC who can utilize all the talent we have. We have no trick plays which is pathetic lol
I guess Ronnie Stanley, Kenneth Dixon & Tavon Young don't count?
No they don't- they aren't playmakers like elliot is...
Wasn't there a lot of hype about 2016 being Kamar Aiken's big year based upon last year's playing time? Now he can't even get on the field--- go figure...
While I'm happy Pitta didn't mess up his hip again this year, I still have reservations about him and whether he deserves a big contract- not sure what he's getting now but understand that he's triggered some big bonus due to the amount of catches he's made. I could be wrong, but I think most of his receptions have been short passes. I also don't think it's wise to have this catching pass bonus when Flacco is his best friend- I'm sure Flacco is going to try to take care of him by throwing the ball to his boy as much as possible so he could get his bonus. While Pitta bread caught a lot of passes this year, I would bet that he certainly wasn't one of the leaders in catching long passes. Anyhow, I'm happy that he's back and healthy but think his contract needs to be restructured because he isn't that good anymore- plus, he sucks at blocking- he and Juice probably wouldn't be on any other NFL team.
dude. juice made the pro bowl. And though Pitta sucks at blocking he would be a pro bowler if Arod was tossing it to him. Saying Pitta and Juice couldn't make the 9ers or Browns is just absurd
Juice made the pro bowl because there are only 4 full backs in the entire nfl- Juice like pitta can't block a toddler- this is a fact- look at the film-
I also think it's crazy that Harbaugh would play Flacco in a meaningless game- God forbid no one breaks his ankles. Even though Flacco isn't elite, he ties up so much salary cap space, and our back up qb isn't good at all. If we were in the playoffs or if we had a winning record over the past couple of years, I guarantuee that Flacco doesn't play- I think Harbs is just trying to get another W in the win column for pride and for his record at this point, which i think is a little selfish considering our team isn't deep. I'm going to pray that Flacco or any of the few key people that are considered decent on this team don't get injured.
No offense but I think way too much is being made of our "#1 defense." I think the point that needs to be recognized is that we played an easy schedule this year because of our terrible losing record last year- so does playing much inferior teams, where the majority of our wins came from teams with losing records, really make our defense that good? No because our defense looked good because we played so many teams with losing records so technically I'd argue that our defense wouldn't be #1 if we played more avg teams or teams with winning records. I think this #1 defense statement is highly misleading because when you look under the band aids, you'll see that the defense doesn't impose it's will on anyone like the old days and that we still have third tier corners starting for us and an old corner (webb) who should be at home watching games on Sundays.
Should we really be that excited that we're going to start a 6 round draft pick? smh.. Anyhow, I wish one day that Oz and DaCosta would spend a first round pick on a CB- look what happened when he used it on Jimmy Smith although Jimmy Smith spends more time in the hospital every year than on the field- smg again... Talking about lack of play makers- the only one that would be close would be SSS- Flacco isn't a playmaker, as he isn't elite. We don't really have one single stud on this team- just a bunch of wash ups or senior citizens that used to be playmakers (eg. Suggs and SSS)
Here we go again on the endless hunt for Oz trying to find a legitimate receiver...

I told you all that we wouldn't make the playoffs earlier this year because we didn't have enough talent due to years of terrible drafting. I also said that we might even be two years away from making the playoffs which might be true again because our team will most likely not make the playoffs next year. esp if Steve Smith retires- sounds like there's a chance though he might be back since he didn't say 100 percent. If he does leave, we will be in really bad shape with Wallace being the only professional grade level receiver we have- we will then have to look to free agency, but I think everyone knows Oz's philosophy in never paying a receiver too much money - he's never had a high paid receiver on the roster and let Boldin and Torrey go bc he thought they were getting expensive- smh. As far as this seasons goes, I don't think we improved much- yes, we won some more games, but I think everyone has to remember we also had the easiest schedule bc of all the losses last year- so does winning against so many losing teams make us better? I don't think so. I don't think any of the coaches need to be fired, but they definitely need better players to work with and that problem falls straight on the shoulders of Oz and DaCosta
I don't know what the hype is about Juszczyk - he made one decent run. So what? He can't block that well, and he made the Pro Bowl because there are no full backs in the league.
Also, I don't see Harbs going anywhere, and I don't see him making changes to his staff unless he's forced to. Like I've always said, I think he's been dealt a bad hand with all the bad draft picks Ozzie / DaCosta has made over the past 5-6 years. We can say they had a decent draft last year, but you should hope they would when they had like 50 picks last year.
I don't have a lot of conifdence in Ozzie or Dacosta based upon his last 5 years of work with the draft- just saying..
A couple of things here.. first of all, Ed Reed doesn't have 2-3 years left- if he did, he'd still be playing for the Jets Second of all, the Ravens and Squeelers rivalry is losing some luster - this is what happens when we're not as competitive as we used to be- also, our defense isn't the same Rex Ryan defense that defined the Ravens D years ago. Speaking of Ryan, I think they're going to blitz the heck out of Flacco- Flacco is terrible when he's under pressure, and we lose this game.
Stanley might be the best pick in the entire draft. He impress me at LT and l won't be surprise he makes the Pro Bowl. Great pick by Ozzie we found our LT for years to come. ?
Is this DaCosta writing this as hen826957?
I sincerely hope this young man doesn't blow up his hip again- good luck, son
love it- Eisenberg chugging the purple kool-aid
Also, and this is no offense to Forsett, but he aint worth $3M a year- this is one reason why we have cap problems, not to even mention overpaying Flacco like he's elite.
Forsett just got shortchanged from Ozzie just like he did to Anquan Boldin and almost did to TUcker... I can't imagine good FA coming here because of Oz's reputation to not pay out on a full contract. We shouldn't overpay in the first place. No other team would've payed Forsett $3M/ year. Also, how do you ask Boldin to take a paycut after a great season? This is not how a "great" organization is run. Regardless, we save money on Forsett...
You had no idea at the time you wrote this, what the deal was that was offered to Forsett but why let that stop you from assuming the worst of the organization?
Given the way this had been playing out, it seemed obvious that we simply determined that we could leverage the situation to avoid subjecting a player to waivers that we ultimately wanted on the 53 man roster and worked out this plan with Forsett. The report is now out and, not surprisingly, it appears this assumption was accurate, given he's getting the same basic deal (with additional incentives). The organization established trust with a player and both sides gave their word on how this would play out and both followed through on it. A model of cooperation between team and player.
Almost shortchanged Tucker? ... but didn't, so almost doesn't count. Boldin? Well, I was never thrilled with that move either, but IMO we've reached our statute of limitations on that one as far as it being a major talking point in 2016.
Don't deny that Oz tried to shortchange Anquan a couple of years back- that's a fact. If he did it once, he could do it again.
I was wrong about Ozzie this time- I'm glad he didn't shortchange Forsett- Sorry, Oz...
Its been time to cut Elam- I would've rather kept Camp and axed Elam- regardless, the FO is finally getting it- not wasting 4 years on a high draft pick that simply doesnt pan out (e.g. Kindle, Brown, Brooks, etc...)

I've always said that Oz is losing it- our past 5 drafts have been miserable. With that said, Oz overpaid for Forsett and he deserved to be cut based upon performance- good guy, but he didn't deserve to be paid $3M a year as he was a product of Kubiak's system. I also bet that the OC/ Trestman didn't want Forsett either- it's kind of funny to see how Forsett was considered one of our most popular/ better players on our team with all the national media coverage his cut got- that also has to show you how our roster stinks if he's getting all this attention because he's not that good- just saying.. Go Oz!!
whats a guy like Butler gotta do to make this squad? With Perriman still pretty much untested, SSS questionable if he'll make it back as good as he was before, and all the injuries we had last year to our WR's, I don't understand cutting Butler.
Apparently get injured and be a bust like Elam lmao Ozzie has lost his touch ever sense we won the Super Bowl back in 2012....The Front Office Just Hasnt been the same Decision Making Wise....
I agree 100%
Also, as he did with others, I think Oz is going to try to get Forsett back on the cheap if he can't pick up anyone else that's good. That's what he did with others in the past- Tucker can tell you all about it- lol I have to believe that people in the league think Oz is a penny pincher - that's why i dont understand why he overpays someone like Forsett in the first place

Even if we draft a good receiver, which is highly unlikely do to our draft history, Oz won't every pay that receiver a big second contract (e.g. Torrey Smith). Also, he told Anquan he didn't think he was worth his contract and asked him to take a pay cut- rightfully so, Anquan said, "No," and look where we've been since he and even Torrey left. Like our CB position, we've just had a bunch of scrubs revolving in and out of the team. Perriman who? Exactly..
