  1. We actually had 20 players on IR last season, and that doesn't include Pitta, and our top corner was a shell of himself because of the injury he sustained the previous year. The Steelers and Patriots had fewer total players and fewer starters out with injury than we did last year. By the end of the season, we literally didn't have a single starting WR, TE, QB, or RB that was healthy. That's all of our skill positions. The injuries the Pats and Steelers sustained were not comparable to that at all. When Gronk and Edelman had injury issues, the Pats were mediocre at best. Even back in 2014, the Pats were struggling until Gronk got healthy. I don't think their depth is better than ours. They just didn't have the majority of their top players out like we did. Broncos won the SB with a pitiful QB- no excuses
  2. It isn't just about the number of injuries, but who is getting injured. Some talent is easier to replace than other talent. If a lot of your back ups and special teams guys are getting hurt, chances are you can find quality replacements. Think about what happened to the Ravens: QB: Starter injured for the season. Any time this happens to any team for more than a couple of games it is a devastating loss. HB: Starter injured for the season. Teams can usually overcome this if they have decent talent behind the starter and if the rest of the team remains relatively intact. But then the back up got hurt too. We were on our third and fourth options and West had to be picked up off the street. WR: We were down to our 4th and 5th string options as starters. Street free agents were getting significant snaps. You might be able to live without one of your starting wideouts, but if you lose the first three options that alone will decimate your team. LT: Starter injured for more than half the season: Tough to replace that guy, but that alone might not sink a season. C: Starter injured for significant portion of time: Can be an issue without capable back up, this injury alone might not break a team. OLB: Leading pass rusher out for the season: Vital position to any defense, this is a tough injury to overcome. In a vacuum this injury may not cost you a season. CB: Both starters playing hurt. They were forced to play probably more than we would have liked, but that was an issue based on poor depth. S: Numerous injuries to starters and backups. When you are replacing more than half of your entire secondary you've got some issues. It was the culmination of who got injured. A lot of teams wouldn't recover from having their starting QB going down for a half dozen games or so. Broncos won the SB with a pitiful Peyton Manning as QB- no excuses....
  3. We had the most people on IR in 2015 with 18 players out for the season, and we didn't come close to the playoffs. The Squeelers had 16 players out for the season last year, and they made the playoffs. The Patriots had 15 people on IR last year, and they also made the playoffs. What does this mean? That the Squeelers / Patriots either had better coaching and/ or had a deeper, more quality roster because of better drafts in the past 5 years (when we didn't).
  4. I think we go 7-9. I think being "very real SB contenders" is a very big stretch. Our O Line will not be able to open lanes up for Forsett this year either- I expect the Defense to play better with Suggs- we have a limited window of opportunity before we have to rebuild all over again with all the aging veterans on our team.
  5. He looks a little soft. Laremy would've been the safer pick.
  6. I've never heard of this guy before- who is Breshard Perriman?
  7. I think it will be the opposite with a new line and second tier receivers
  8. He's going to be the next Josh Norman!
  9. KidNme- How do you know if he eats out all the time? These guys deserve every penny as elite athletes/ entertainers. If they don't get paid, do you think the team should keep all the money they make from broadcasting these games? You're being irrational
  10. Agreed. The Ravens are just tight-fisted, and are always looking to get proven players on the cheap! Just ask A. Boldin. They signed an agreement, then backed out after they got what they wanted. All of a sudden, he didn't fit their picture anymore. I couldn't agree more- how do we give him less on one of the final go arounds of the contract- once his agent went public, it was embarrassing for our team, and they had no choice but to cave in. I also think bad cap management in the past played a part too- we're pinching our pennies still because we're still in a bind- yes, we have some money freed up with Flacco's extension, but we don't have a ton of money left- that's why we didn't make any significant signings during the FA period and may have overpaid on Weddle- only time will tell if he was worth the investment- personally, I think the team should be getting younger, not older- Watson was another example of signing an old FA. Then again, we have SSS, and he's almost 40..
  11. I'm glad that Ozzie finally came to his senses and bent for Tucker at the end.. Nice...

  13. 1. Name one team in the league that is a good starting QB AND a good backup QB? Just one. Teams with good backup QBs don't have good starting QBs. Which problem would you rather have. 2. Last winning season was 2014, just two years ago. I guess you took that season off. 3. I always love it when people second guess past decisions (with no vision of the future, of course) and do so by referencing guys we should have kept who aren't very good when they leave. That's quite hilarious. No teams in the league have a good backup- we're proof of that too. But I don't think Flacco is elite- very good, maybe. Good, definitely. Plus, because of our salary cap situation, we had to extend Flacco recently and made him the highest paid QB not long ago- is that crazy? It is- this is part of the mismanagement this team has had with salary cap and poor FA acquisitions, and bad luck of course. 2. This team is on the decline or at best flat from last year. We will not make the playoffs this year- guaranteed. 3. Ngata was bad when they left? Torrey was bad? Art Jones was bad? When they all left, our team went downhill. Ngata and Torrey were leaders... This team is on the down and down unfortunately. Everyone just keeps drinking the purple kool-aid- i know the truth hurts. This is not the Ravens of old- ever since Lewis and Reed left- the same thing... We need Ray Rice to come back with his left uppercut to wake some people up and play
  14. When were Torrey Smith and J. Jones leaders? Name one player on our roster besides Suggs who has actually stepped into that leadership role like SSS has? Out of curiousity, since you're constantly ragging on Ozzie, why is he part of your username? Did I say J Jones? That's what I thought. Torrey Smith was a leader, more than Flacco will ever try to be- if Flacco is such a great leader, then why wasn't he a team captain at DE? i'm calling out Ozzie because the past five drafts have been horrendous and coincides with all the bad fortune we've had recently- I also blame DaCosta too, but figuring Oz is his boss and makes final decisions as GM, he's the one whose most targeted.. Plus, 1/2 the people on this site, and other websites, have written about Oz's current failures over the past 5 years. Suggs isn't the ideal leader either- how can he be when he's running his car into walls at 3AM at night? Plus, he's given his wife a beatdown in the past just like Ray Rice
  15. Perriman who? For real, at best, he'll be ready in October. If not by then, he won't be playing this year. He is straight up a bust draft pick - just like Elam, Terrance Brooks, Arthur Brown, Kindle, etc... He's seen more hospital bed than grass.. Also, QB spot is also an issue- if Flacco goes down again, due to our inexperienced line, our back up is terrible. Plus, if the line can't protect him like last year, he will again have a terrible year as well. When's the last time we had winning season? 3 or 4 years ago? This team has been handicapped by poor draft picks over the past 5 years, poor FA signings (e.g. Monroe), and a roster full of players who are injured every year - Webb, J Smith, Perriman, etc.. While I like Forsett, he's not going to do anything special either with a terrible line. I hope we at least get Tucker on a long term contract because our team is so old, and we need to get be smarter by getting younger - not by taking Watson and Weddell - that was a mistake. You can't replace true leadership with old leaders from other teams- we tried to do that with SSS, and what has that produced? Nothing- we need to keep our own (torrey smith, Jones, etc.). We aint making the playoffs until 2017 at best but most likely 2018. This team needs a lot of help- sorry, I'm just being realistic.
  16. Joe Flacco is an above avg quarterback- without a doubt. But is he elite? No- if he was elite, then there would be no debate, and there is obviosly plenty of debate. I won't go into reasons why he isn't elite, but I can sure tell you Oz has hamstrung Flacco from being elite with drafting terrible wide receivers/ TEs (outside of Torrey and Pitta). Sorry, but this team isn't going to make the playoffs in 2016 because of the product Oz/ Dacosta have put on the field. Sorry.
  17. God bless Pitta's hips
  18. Downing drinking the purple kool-aid with Mink- Love it! CB Fact: The Ravens haven’t drafted a CB in the first three rounds since they took Jimmy Smith 27th overall out of Colorado in 2011. The Ravens have drafted 47 players since 2012 and only four have been cornerbacks. Three of those are no longer on the roster. Ozzie has amnesia on draft day when it comes to the CB position. We won't be making playoffs this year folks and maybe not in 2018. We are definitely in a downward spiral right now. I'm sick of having quantity over quality- who cares if we have ten 4th round comp picks- I'd rather us get a stud in the first couple of rounds and not trade back and get projects.
  19. I've heard this before!!! Every time around this time of year... Keep drinking that purple Kool-Aid, Mink.
  20. Honestly, this team has so many holes, and as much as I like Tucker, I think we need to let him go and use the millions elsewhere to fill all the holes on our roster. Oz has no intention of paying him this year, even though Tucker is the most automatic kicker in the league- I wonder if this will create ill will towards Tucker and his camp.
  21. perfectly said, but Oz very rarely drafts any good DBs and usually it's 3rd round or later
  22. Only Oz would build a team this unbalanced with possibly 5 TEs
  23. we must have the oldest team in the NFL
