I think most teams are starting to see that our first contract players aren't doing that well when they hit free agency for the first time. Its been well documented on batimoreravens.com- so what does that mean? we/ Oz like to think that we don't overpay (e.g. Arthur Jones, Torrey Smith, Kruger, etc.. Dacosta even threw out a crazy stat saying players that have left Ravens received most salary, making the implication that the players they've had are great. .Maybe in reality, these players look great because the rest of the team is so bad, esp with the past 5 years of poor drafts, and in fact they are just average or slightly better than average on other teams - as we like to think we always make the right decision because we don't overpay and since we always write about how former Ravens aren't doing that well on other teams. With that said, I hope Brandon Williams gets his due, maybe we'll value him like a Yanda/ Tucker, but who knosws, maybe we'll let him go because we can't pay up anymore because of our cap situation. Or maybe we'll be allowed to let him go because one of our 20 draft picks last year (what did we have like 10 fourth round picks) will finally pan out.
