  1. Let me start this off by asking you to name ANY teams that select pro bowl players annually in the third and fourth rounds. You aren't looking for pro bowl level players with those picks, you are hoping to find developmental level talent that can at least sub in and if you are lucky, to start for your team. Not sure what your cut off is for "recent" but let me go back at least a few years: 2010: 3rd: Ed Dickson (not good) 4th Dennis Pitta (was great save for freak injury, but I think we all know he would have had a great career if that had never happened) 5th: Arthur Jones: Good sub in DE/DT for us, future is up in the air after freak injury with the Colts. 2011: 3rd: Jah Reid (wash out with us, but starter for KC who signed him to a new deal, they like him), 4th: Tandon Doss (not good), 5th: Pernell McPhee (very good, was great in CHI last season), 5th: Chykie Brown (not good), 6th: Tyrod Taylor (had a great year with Bills). 2012: Not a good year for us, 3rd: Bernard Pierce, 4th: Gino Gradkowski and Christian Thompson. 2013: Brandon Williams (great), 4th: John Simon (done nothing), & Kyle Juszczyck (starting FB), 5th: Ricky Wagner (starting RT), 6th: Karpon Lewis-Moore (injury marred career so far), & Ryan Jensen (started at LG for us last year). 2014: 3rd: Terrence Brooks (injuries) & Crockett Gillmore (good), 4th: Bent Urban and Lorenzo Taliafero (both show promise but injuries), 5th: John Urschel (show some promise at G/C). 2015: Little too soon to tell on these guys of course but: 3rd: Carl Davis: Ravens are high on this DT/DE hybrid. 4th: Za'Darius Smith: Recorded 5.5 sacks in a part time role. 4th: Javorius "Buck" Allen": Showed some promise out of the backfield. 4th: Tray Walker: showing promise before his unfortunate passing. Clearly Ozzie doesn't know what he's doing. He's only found a TE that without his injury issues probably would have made a few pro bowls and would have had a great career, some starting defensive ends, starting offensive linemen, and a starting QB in the mid to late rounds of the draft. He needs to retire now for the good of the Ravens.... I agree with you- In Oz we bust
  2. terrible draft- everyone says wait for 3 years--- for what? By the time they play well in the third year, they're too good, and then we can't afford to keep them because of poor cap management. we need players that can be good in year 1-2. But instead, we trade back and get special team players- Oz needs to go
  3. Oz needs to go- 1/2 the people commenting on the Sun agree. Preston is right- we're a bunch of sissies and no one fears us anymore
  4. agreed. In Oz we bust
  5. Oz doesn't know what cornerback means
  6. In Ozzie we bust (not trust). Even he and other media outlets have said that our past 5 drafts have NOT been good. If this draft doesn't pan out, then he should leave. Who cares if a kid made a mistake, why are we so infatuated with taking church boys all the time (no offense). We thought Ray Rice was a good kind, but then he ends up giving his girl a right upper cut and then spits on her. This team lacks passion and lacks a leader with true passion. We need emotion and we need to take a chance sometimes- these are kids remember- everyone deserves a chance.
  7. I call this draft uneventful- we had a chance to take a stud and we didn't comeout with a stud in the 1st or 2nd because we sent safe and bc Oz loves to trade back- lol
  8. You figure we could've gotten an impact player, a stud, with the top 6th pick and a very high second round pick, but Oz whiffed again... take a safe first round pick and then trade back... for what? smh.. this draft is BS and we're now two years back from making the playoffs- we get older in FA with an old tight end, and an old safety - and that doesn't include our best WR who will be 38 this year-- Perriman, Elam, Brooks, Arthur Brown, etc........ Oz lost his touch or he's relying upon Costa too much- notice how he always says me and Eric... this and that? Maybe he's trying to deflect blame on Costa now too.. who cares if we have a million 4th round picks or a million comp picks- if we can't draft well in those rounds, which is already hard to do, then who cares? We spent way too much on Weddle, Eugene Monroe, and Steve Smith- and all we do is let all the good players go because we can't manage the cap.. and then we keep players who can't play on our roster because they're nice guys (Pitta bread, Webb, Simon, etc....)... If you want to see a good draft, Scott McCoughlan picks them really well- he had 4 picks last year that made huge contributions to the team just south of Balitmore- maybe Bisciotti can pry him away from Little Dan
  9. Oz, Eric, and Scouts need to get cannned. Every damn year, Oz forgets to draft a cornerback in the first 3 rounds. Our DBs suck. While the Redskins get better with studs like Josh Norman, we're stuck with no name corners on our team- why the heck is Webb still on our team at the amount he costs? And Jimmy Smith had surgery yesterday. What's the point of having 50 4th round picks if we can't pick a stud in that round? Going back two spots in the second round infuriated me- for what? to get more draft picks? Who cares about having more draft picks when you can't pick a good player? Out of this draft and at our draft position, we should've had at least one stud, but we end up with the second best tackle in the first round? smh.. In Oz, I don't trust... Oz has drafted terrible in the last five years, and he's done it again in year 6. This is why we're in a whole. I'm surprised that Oz didn't draft another tight end, another safety, and another player from alabama- usually, he does every draft- we draft a million TE and Safeties and we never get this position right- that's why we have to draft one every year. I hope Bisciotti changes things up. What scares me a lot, and maybe this is Oz's way of deflecting blame, but in all his pressers, media statements, he's always like Eric and I this... Eric and I that... this shows me that both of these men need to go soon if this draft doesn't pan out. Oz even said that the last five drafts haven't been up to his standards- and other media sources have written about the same thing- I'm just frustrated we didn't pick a stud in the second rd and we moved back TWICE to supposedly acquire more picks and by moving back, i know we lost one of the players we had higher on the draft board- Oz and co are idiots. Let Bisciotti do the next draft- he knows we need corners and playmakers- I see solid players but i dont see studs and playmakers...
  10. Oz and Eric and all the scouts need to go- totally messed up the second round of trading- we've haven't been in this position where we draft on the top of the round for years, and what do we do? The board needs to be turned upside down- perhaps then we'll draft better. I'm sick of having all these 4th round picks. for what? We can't even draft well in the 1 or 2nd round. we knew about Perriman's injuries and now we're worried about Myles Jack? SMH. We need a new FO- I'm sick of acquriing a million picks to move back in the draft- as you can see, when we wanted to get back in the second rd, no on wanted to deal with our 4th round picks bc everyone knows you can't do anything with a 4th round pick- when will Ozzie get it? then we get played by other teams and move back twice in the second round? smh- you figure we would've gotten one stud, but we come away with the second best tackle in the first round. Now, we don't get to the playoffs until 2018.
  11. Regarding this pick, yawn... Well, we can't do worst than last year's pick. Perriman saw more grass on his front lawn than on the the playing field Go Ravens.
  12. I'm surprised we didn't choose a safety or tight end- we usually do every draft because we can't get this position right when drafting. At least we picked up a decent FA safety.
  13. We should've traded back earlier so we had more picks. Instead, we got greedy, and the "phone didn't ring." The pick is okay, but we need corners, we need receivers, we need pass rushers. In fact, we need a lot of things- we've been hurt by poor drafts, bad FA pick-ups, and salary cap issues with dead money. I hate to say this, but we don't make the playoffs this year. Our best receiver will be 38 years old this year, we picked up a safety in his 30s, and a TE in his mid 30's. Why aren't we getting younger? We couldn't/ can't do anything because of poor cap management. Oh brother.. we are doomed this year..
  14. I don't know what the big deal is about Trent Richardson. He was already cut by two teams- why would the FO think that our O-Line/ Coaching can turn this you young man around? smh.... Also, it would've been nice if we could've picked up Josh Norman- due to bad drafts, fa signings, and bad cap management, we can't even get pac man jones. We don't have a shut down corner, and all a good amount of our players are always injured (e.g. webb, jimmy smith, monroe, etc..). Then we get older with our free agent signings? I think this team is going in the wrong direction... We're at least two years from making the playoffs.. Lastly, Flacco isn't elite, but we pay him like an elite qb. An elite qb is good all season- not just during the playoffs.
  15. we're not making the playoffs until 2017 / 2018
  16. This is because we suck- duh
  17. No offense, but Pitta bread still stinks. If Ozzie gave him more than $800,000, then it's time for Ozzie to go. He drafts tight ends and safeties every year and can't get it right- at least recently owned up to not drafting well, which I respect. Regardless, how many more TE or Safeties do we have to pick-up/ draft before we get it right? Now we have a 40 year old TE from New Orleans? SMH. Anyhow, I can't see Pitta not dislocating his hip again this year- he's going to play with fear which isn't good. At least his best friend Joe will give him every opportunity to make some of that money back--
  18. Harbaugh is a good coach- he can only do so much with a poor roster due to the past 5 years of poor drafting- we don't have a good base of players. However, I will blame Harbaugh for his man-love of Steve Smith. We could've and should've kept Torrey, a younger player and productive with Flacco, and let SSS go- I will always blame Harbaugh / Ozzie for this.
  19. Plenty of factors at play here that could influence this... 1. Outside of Weddle, the deals are short term, affordable deals, which Ozzie always prefers. It's not like we went out to the top of the market and signed guys. 2. Maybe the FO thinks overall this is simply a poor draft class. 3. We were 5-11, which means we've got a lot of holes to fill. Doing all of it through the draft isn't realistic. 4. There is some reported perception of a big spike in the salary cap in the next year or two, which means teams will have more money to spend. We spend to the cap every year, and draft pick compensation doesn't change nearly as much as FA markets. Basically, if we want to continue to spend to the cap, we'd probably be forced to invest more in FAs and extensions for our own guys. Given that we haven't been overly successful recently with draft picks, there aren't a ton of extensions to be handed out in the short term. Well said. At least you understand what everyone agrees upon- that our past drafts haven't been successful. We don't have a good young base of players due to 5 years of poor drafts.
  20. LOL- Who is Pitta and who is Perriman? Do these guys even exist? They've seen more grass on a chia pet as opposed to the playing field.
  21. I agree 110%. Weddle is decent but Wallace hasn't been productive as of late and Watson is 40 years old- he should go well with SSS. We need to get younger if anything... Poor drafts and bad salary cap management have led us to where we are today- I can bet that we won't make the playoffs next year- we needed to address the offensive line better or come up with a better scheme- that's why we can't run. Without running, Flacco isn't close to elite.
  22. I applaud the Ravens with the FA moves and acting with a sense of urgency. With that said, my opinion is that we don't make the playoffs until 2017, another year out. Our O-line sucks, and we don't have stud RB's who can plow through a below avg line. Also, Oz has to remember that CBs are also football players, so we want to draft one high or try to overpay a FA to come to Baltimore. Perriman who?
  23. I think we should trade Elam and Brooks for one 12th round pick.
