Let me first say I love Joe, but business is business.

The Ravens are projected to be $14,239,178 UNDER the cap and have to find a way to resign top priority guys like unrestricted free agents Brandon Williams, and Kyle Jusczyk. Plus, restricted free agents like Terrence West, Ricky Wagner, Ryan Jensen, Zachary Orr. Joe Flacco’s cap number for 2017 is $24.55M.

The Denver Broncos are projected to be $30,225,385 UNDER the cap for 2017 and have 38 players under contract. All of their main guys are locked up.
I wonder what type of trade could be made. Denver is in desperate need of a QB, and Joe knows their offense. Baltimore would get the cap relief it needs to retool the team.

And you think Ozzie will cut his QB just like that? With no replacement at the ready, either?

I would like to see Harbaugh go, but there's not many good candidates that can replace him. He got rid of players that bumped heads with him and it has hurt the team, I think that's why we see players leave us to go play for Pagano or Rex. He never calls out Flacco for the many mistakes he makes but any mistake made by anyone else they get called out for it

And how well are Pagano and Rex doing right now?

My question is why is he starting over Zachary Orr?  Performance wise Orr has been better. I wonder if he is in the doghouse? Haven't heard about a injury. I cant figure it out.

I can't recall seeing him on the field at all recently. The NFL website says he's got 4 tackles for the year and a forced fumble and those were in the Jets game but other than that, I've not heard a word, though those could be on special teams. Don't know what he's done to earn himself a spot on the bad list, but I'm hoping they're just growing pains.

That is not the way the offense is run - not sure what you people don't understand - JOE RUNS THE PLAY AS CALLED - this offense has always done that and will continue to. The only time Joe seemed to have the decision making authority was in the 2012 playoffs. Other than that, the play that is sent in is the play that is ran. That's not up to Joe, that's up to the head coach!!

And all 3 of them deserve blame for that, because we saw how well that worked out.

“Even if we’re up 10 points, or 21 points, I’m thinking, ‘It’s going to come down to the nitty and gritty,”

Why, why - if we are up 10 or 21 points why must it come down to the final possession or final play? Why can we not put teams away and close the game? I could see if the defense was ranked below 20th but when you supposedly are the #1 defense in the league why are you giving up so many big plays and putting the team in this position? Is it coaching, the bend but don't break mentality that the current DC has - whatever it is it needs to stop immediately because the Steelers and Bengals game won't have the same outcome!!

I'm starting to think the team just like creating drama for drama's sake and making things "interesting" but for all the wrong reasons. The Dolphins game was an example of a day where fans could sit back and relax as the Ravens thoroughly curbstomped them, but every other game is just making the fans bite their nails and sweat in the hopes that they make the right play at the right time.

  6. If your own HEAD COACH thinks a play is a bad idea but allows it anyway, then that's on you. Also on Joe for not switching up at the time and just blindly agreeing with it, especially since we were actually running the ball all the day and our offense actually moved a bit better than last week.

Think back to the Seahawks-Pats Superbowl if you wanna see how throwing that close to the goal line near the end of a game worked out....

  7. My takeaways:

    1. We went back to our anemic offense when we should've learned from the past 11 weeks. I hate that our performance vs. the Dolphins is basically a one-and-done thing.
    2. Checkdowns are good. Checkdowns all the time are terrible (I remember there being a stat showing 5 passes when to WRs, 1 to a TE, and 8 to backs)
    3. The team took advantage of 2 special teams turnovers, which is good. Otherwise we'd have been routed easily.
    4. 300+ passing yards and 2 TDs from Flacco should be enough any other day but just not last night, worse since most of them came in the 2nd half and we still had a chance to take the lead.
    5. Jimmy Smith's mere presence (or lack thereof) is a game changer.
    6. Penalties keep happening and now it's just awful.
    7. "Urgency" is not a word they're familiar with, if the last 5 minutes are an indicator.
    8. Justin Tucker is still awesome, despite his blocked FG

Extra note: Honestly, I'm not terribly disappointed in the team's loss, it has more to do with them going back to their old ways of stale offense. Going into Gillette Stadium and winning on any given day is a real tall order, for any team, even the ones in their own division. I was also right in my belief that the Ravens would go up there and if not win, at least make this a close game and make the Pats sweat a little bit, which is technically true considering they fumbled away kicks twice and we were within 7 points of tying them.
