More and more mocks start to think the Browns aren't gonna take a QB at #2, as the Rams take the only QB they are reallyinterested in.

When people were saying that the trade between SL and TEN was great for us, the first thing that popped in my mind was that it actually may not change anything. If CLE doesn't go QB, we are still in the situation as before. More than likely, I see us picking between Buckner and Bosa.

Can't go wrong either way but let's hope one of them is still available.

I'm now very optimistic that Laremy Tunsil will be our #6 choice! I believe the draft may go thus if the Browns have really become smarter with Hue Jackson.
    1. Wentz
    2. Goff
    3. Ramsey
    4. Jack
    5. Bosa/Buckner
    6. Laremy Tunsil!!!!

I hope Tunsil is as good as they claim, the last few drafts all the tackles drafted in the first round have been pretty meh, if you go back the last 4 drafts there has been 18 tackles drafted in the first round, the only decent ones are lane johnson, riley reiff and zack martin, the rest have been pretty underwhelming.

Bosa or Buckner. The D/LB core is getting long in the tooth and must be replaced in short order. Elvis/Terrell may have one good season left......may have!

  3. Why would the Ravens even consider taking a chance like this with the #6 pick? It is absolutely insane. I don't care how good the guy was before the knee injury, he has not shown anything that would prove he is recovered and able to continue what he once was. I hope the Ravens aren't that stupid.

Totally agree. The Ravens can ill afford another #1 pick with a potential bum knee. If he comes up lame like Perriman then that's two years in a row and the owner will none too pleased with that outcome.

I like Spence more than Buckner and Bosa.. if Stanley is the top talent left on the board at #6 we should trade back and take spence. possibly swooping a Le'raven Clark in the 2nd and a sterling Shepard in the 3rd... a ravens fan can dream right.

LOL Buckner is the 3rd best paler in this draft! Spencer is not.

Agreed. Buckner any day over Spence. Problem is the Chargers are also interested in him. Got a bad feeling that both him and Bosa will be gone by #6.

  5. Can't go wrong with Bosa or Buckner. Would love to see them go back to a legit 4/3 with two beefcakes in the middle(Jernigan & Williams) and Buckner and someone else covering the pass rushing DE's. It'll help take some heat off of the LB's being our primary and, for the most part, our only pass rushers. Of course having Buckner available means that the rumors of the Chargers picking him are bogus, which would be no big surprise as one approaches the draft.

Tunsil might be in play as well which would be interesting. Titans like Ramsey and the Chargers like Jack.

He wouldn't get past 3. Chargers would take him.

Most mock drafts have Buckner going to the Chargers and Bosa going to the Cowboys. Let's hope that's not the case or the Ravens trade up to get the game changing pass rusher.

I can't see the Raven's trading up. As you think both pass rushers are gone, My thinking is Tunsil, Ramsey and one of the QB's will also be gone, which would leave us in position to snag Jack, Not a bad pick. Course, we don't know who the FO has on their board, nor can anyone know what Cleveland or jerry Jones are thinking. Either of them could pick someone totally unexpected.

I guess Jack would be a good fall back player but his knee has more than a few scouts concerned. With the drafting of Perriman last year the Ravens can ill afford to have another 1st rounder sit out for an extended period of time because of a bum knee.

Even if you get him for 50 cents. It is not worth taking someone off the active roster for this guy!

He has the talent he was the 3rd player taken in the draft that year. I don't know why people hate this signing. We have 90 spots to fill for the offseason and we don't have to break it down to 53 until near the beginning of the season. High reward low risk signing here. If he doesn't pan out he gets cut before the season. I bet if he got in shape and actually ran behind a decent O-line he would produce better stats. Nothing against the Colts or Browns but no running back they have put behind their O-lines have producted the last several years. If he gets into good football shape he has the speed and size to produce. Like Harbaugh and Ozzie said it is up to him to get football ready.

If, If, If! That should say it all. Pass.

  9. Agree with the prognosticators that the Ravens should and probably will go with a pass rusher. Bosa or Buckner will do just fine. The way the NFL is set up nowadays it's imperative a team has the ability to pressure a QB. With Smith gone and Suggs & Elvis not getting any younger it should be a no brainer.

  10. I don't know that the release of Smith was directly tied to our level of interest in Jack, but I feel like may have increased the potential for him to be our pick. Still, I think the Ravens are going to be a little concerned about bringing in a rookie coming off a significant injury ... especially a pick this high.

For me, its either Bosa (who is still a longshot), VH3 or Buckner. Jack is an intriguing player, but with significant boom/bust potential. I'm not sure we're going to be willing to roll the dice with this high of a pick

    They're not.(or let's hope so)

Myles Jack? Instead of Bosa or Buckner? No, No, No. Please!

Myles Jack is a better football player than that garbage review you linked. In college his coaches just wanted to use him everywhere they could to help their school and program. Once Jack is able to settle into a single role he will be able to excel. Also D. Smith is now gone, allowing Mosley to slide to Mike and perhaps Jack to come in and play Will. Joey Bosa, is okay but really a one trick pony that will not be as effective at the next level due to losing his size advantage. He is just big and strong and fast. His pass rush is a bull rush without explosion but he has a high motor that got him by in college. He was also an after thought before Noah Spence was kicked from the team. Buckner is a better choice IMHO, however Ravens are already quite stout along the D-line. Possible they go after Buckner, but I doubt it. Reality is Myles Jack, Vernon Hargreaves or Ronnie Stanley are the most likely prospects to be drafted, should the Ravens hold at #6 and not try to trade up or down. Personally I think K.O. will stay and Monroe be cut, but not force the Ravens to go OT in the first round. Hargreaves is good, real good, but my personal take is Florida Gators players (specifically secondary) do not learn to tackle well enough. This is a concern, because as good as any player is including Hargreaves, players will catch deep balls sometimes but will he be strong enough to make sure tackles by wrapping up. Every ex-Gator secondary player I've seen in the last 10 years always go for this big hit, instead of wrapping up their man and ensuring they bring him down. Hargreaves also does this "gator chomp" (i call it) tackle, where he appears to wrap up but really is a well timed body slam type move. This scares me when drafting a CB/S this high. Elam had similar type issues, he was relatively good but missing tackles caught up to him and seemed to affect his confidence in a significant manner. I honestly do think the Ravens trade up to #2, or #3 to get their guy. Might even give them at shot at Ramsey. There are definitely teams that would like extra picks to build a roster and the Ravens might not even need to give up much in a trade. Moving within 5 picks is not going to break the bank for the Ravens. Instead of complaining a player isn't good enough try explaining why whoever you think they should take is worth it with facts or your own perspective. If you just believe everything the media tells you than your not really forming your own opinions.

One can bloviate all they want about a certain topic or player but the bottom line is that Jack is a real(not imagined) gamble that the vast majority of scouts say is not worth a # 6 pick. He had a very serious knee injury and no matter how good an athlete is a bum knee will cancel out the best of them. It's been quite a while since the Ravens picked this high and they can ill afford to gamble with such a questionable pick as him. They're in the rebuilding mode on D(for the most part) and ill afford a setback with those plans. A 2,3 pick maybe. A #1, esp. at 6, no way!

  12. If you quoted the RSR about Myles Jack, here's another quote from SRS on him, by Kyle Casey, in his piece "Prospects the Ravens Should Avoid at 6":

      Quote

Jack is a popular choice due to Baltimore’s history of selecting the “best player of available.” The Ravens will certainly consider him, but he would not net the best return.

Jack is a (no pun intended) jack of all trades, master of none. He is an open-field, run-and-chase linebacker. He has some experience rushing off the edge, but at 6’1, 245 pounds with a small lower half, could he really be relied on to become a full-time edge rusher in the NFL?

If not a full-time edge rusher, where would he play in Baltimore’s defense? Would he be a nickel linebacker who occasionally goes after the quarterback? Is that really the best way to capitalize on the opportunity of having the sixth overall pick?

The Ravens need a guy who provides value off the edge on every down. They don’t need another solid inside linebacker to take the place of Daryl Smith. That is where Jack projects.

And that’s without getting into how his 2015 season-ending torn meniscus might affect him moving forward.

Kinda puts things into perspective, doesn't it?

It certainly does. Hopefully they won't waste the #6 on him. Although a different position we don't need another Elam type pick.
