  1. I think we've found our QB of the secondary and a really good one finally. After Ed, we had become so used to stellar play by him, that he made up for deficiencies around him. While Weddle is not quite Ed Reed an all time great, he's the next best thing - a pro bowl caliber safety!

And he's still young enough to actually produce some results. Let's keep that injury bug in check this year.

  2. Was there really ever any serious doubt they would let him play? Since Reynolds was drafted all you would hear is the Navy will let him play for the exposure as a recruiting tactic. Pretty much a brain dead simple decision to make, much like a free marketing tool vs paying out big dollars to market for recruitment themselves.

That was certainly not so in the past as the Mid would be required to serve active duty. However times change and that's good news for the Ravens. One caveat to consider is who the Secretary of the Navy is at a certain time and things could easily revert back to the old policy if there is a change in that position anytime in the future.

Welcome to the Flock Willie Henry ! Wow no Buckeyes selected by my Ravens, hope John being from that school up north isn't hating on us! Lol! I'm just sayin Buckeyes DOMINATED the draft across the board! Oh well we good though I saw this kid alot when we battle! Good move! SALUTE

Man those Buckeyes just flew off the board! I was hoping Bosa falls to 6 but he goes 3. Then I hoped Zeke falls to to 6 where we'd get a nice trade back but no he goes 4. Then I'm thinking cool cool Apple or Lee will fall to 25 and Ozzie can snatch one but no. They go 10 and 20 lol

They missed a good one in Buckner.

They draft Stanley over a Buckner when their main pass rushers are in their 30's and one coming off a serious injury? Mind boggling esp afyer the owner said he wanted a PR. Maybe it's time for some new people in that FO!

Buckner is overrated. He had 10.5 sacks against marginal college teams. Jernigan is a much better pass rusher. And last I checked, the draft is not over - Myles Jack, Noah Spence, Ogbah, Dodd all still on the board - all as good as or better PR than Buckner.

Yeah, I don't get it. Buckner is a 5-tech DE, which in the Ravens scheme is a run-stopping position. The rush is designed to come from the Leo (Suggs), 3-tech (Jernigan), and Sam (Doom) positions. In fact, for those clamoring that the Ravens needed an "impact play maker" at 6, I'd argue that Buckner's position is the least impactful one in the front 7.

Drafting him that high would be like taking an OG with the 6th pick. Considering how some feel about taking an LT with the pick I find this "we should've taken Buckner" talk quite silly.

The vast majority of scouting reports had Buckner as a top 5 pick. One can rationalize all they want but they let the best legit DL pass through their fingers. The 49er's are already saying they couldn't believe their luck. Time will tell but don't bet more than a cup of coffee that we won't come to regret not picking him.
